Club Sursee It’s Sweater Weather!

CatherineGeneral

As the seasons are changing here in Raleigh, it's finally starting to get a bit of chill in the air. Any signs of cold mean we immediately dig out all of our favorite cozy sweaters!! It's sweater weather! To go along with this excitement, the November Club Sursee is right on time!

The Winter Vibes Stamp Set is going to be one I grab over and over, year after year. I selectively inked up the hat, sweater and mittens to get this fun multi-colored look in Terracotta, Apricot and Buttercream. I pulled my colors from the Vintage Garden Paper pack I had in my stash. Super cute!

One Spa and how about one Party version! This one is a bit more of a Christmas vibe with the greens and reds. I added a piece of In The Park Prints Patterned Paper in plaid which is just so perfect. Deluxe Sursee members will get the coordinating Winter Vibes Dies which allows for easy arrangements.

Erika made this one and was inspired by me inking up the mittens die cutting and arranging in a grid. She used a bunch of Party Inks and selective inking to do the little beenie hats. She pulled in the Holiday One Liners with this funny sentiment.

Club Sursee is designed to really mix and match with other CP products you have in your stash. Here Erika created a card with some die and cover plate classics and embellished with the mugs in the Winter Vibes Stamp Set and used holly from the second stamp set in November Sursee, Joy & Love Stamp Set.

How about a stack of holiday hot drinks? This one stamp set sparked SO many ideas! Just wait until you see what else in will come in the purple envelope. Deluxe Members will get the two stamp sets and coordinating dies to create stacks and stacks of winter cards. Have you signed up yet?

Sign up by November 14th @ 11:59pm to get these goodies in your mailbox!

Christmas Cards featuring the Let Us Adore Him Bundle

CatherineGeneral

Our nativity-themed stamp set, Let Us Adore Him is a beautiful silhouette stamp set with sentiments straight from some of our favorite Christmas songs. Add complimentary products like the Holy Branches Cover Plate and Hot Foil products to add sparkle and shine.

The Let Us Adore Him Stamp Set offers beautiful nativity silhouettes which become the start of the card when stamped in a solid color or heat embossed. In this card, Joseph and Mary are stamped in On the Lake Ink and Oh Holy Night is stamped in Juniper Mist.

Use the Juniper Mist Ink Pad to color the card base, then add the Holy Branches Cover Plate over it. I love how the dots become Juniper Mist with that layer behind!

There's a special kind of love in my heart for using Copic Markers to color on Cover Plates! Once you start, it's kind of addictive, so proceed with caution, my friends! See the replay of this Facebook Live Stream where I created this card.

This card features the wise men stamp. I used the direct to paper method to create Tranquil card stock and then stamped the Star of David with On the Lake to make a patterned background. A few layers and a circle for the sentiment and this simple layout is perfect.

Using the Let Us Adore Him Hot Foil Plates and dies, I was able to foil the manger image and sentiment for this simple card. The ink blended background and splatter of metallic watercolors elevates the card and gives it a beautiful wintery look. I created this card in this live stream replay on Youtube.

Warm & Bright – 3 Ways with Pops of Metallic

The lanterns from the new Warm & Bright Stamp Set are perfect for stamping with our new metallic inks!

Here I used the Metallic Champagne Ink to stamp the lantern and the sentiment. I love how these really pop against the black background. What a show-stopper.

Sometimes, you just need a pop of a little something extra. Here I used the Gold Metallic on the flames, berries and one holly leaf. These pops of shine really take this card up a notch and look great in the light!

If you want to go all out, try inking a frame with the direct to paper method or an ink blending brush. This card only uses the three Metallics in Gold, Silver and Champagne, and it is stunning!

Ink Techniques with the Warm & Bright Lamp Post!

CatherineGeneral

I can't get enough of the gorgeous Warm & Bright Stamp Set from our Winter on Main Street Collection. These lights and lanterns are beautiful and so much fun to create with.

Kristie Goulet

Kristie's clean and simple card is sheer perfection. She ink blended a cold night sky background and stamped her lamp post in Midnight. She added a splatter of metallic watercolor for a snowy effect. Beautiful!

Guest Designer Tiffany, created this gorgeous light-up card using the Warm & Bright Stamp Set. The lamp post and sentiments were stamped with our new Gold Metallic Ink. The bouquet effect on the background was created by using different sizes of Circle Die cuts and using the negative pieces as stencils to ink blend over.

Amanda Fitterer

Amanda started with a lightly ink blended Eternal Flame Cover Plate Die on this stunner. Her Gold Metallic Ink stamped light post and Grateful Layered Word Die were embossed with clear embossing powder for added texture and sheen.

Introducing Metallic Pigment Inks!!

CatherineGeneral

Get ready to add more bling to your stamped projects with our Metallic Pigment Inks! These beautiful metallic inks are thick and rich in color and catch the light with shimmer and shine!

These inks stamp images that are crisp and bright and oh, so metallic! We were through the moon when we first tried them.

As an archival, fade-resistant, and acid-free ink, they are an excellent choice for artwork and keepsake projects.

Our pigment inks are very different than our current line of water-based dye inks. They are slow-drying and are formulated to sit on top of the paper surface, giving plenty of time for blending and embossing.

Dry time and permanence depend on the surface used—inks will dry faster and be more permanent on more porous surfaces. Like other art mediums like chalks, pastels and pencils, Metallic Ink may rub off a bit on some surfaces. Using a spray fixative after stamping will give the best result. You can also heat emboss your images!

CP metallic ink cleans off stamps easily with water, soapy water, stamp cleaner or alcohol. If you get ink in the crevices of your stamps, you may use an old toothbrush to get them sparkling clean!

See these inks in action and learn more on this Youtube Video.

You are going to love stamping in metallic Gold, Silver, and Champagne! These gorgeous Pigment Inks will join the CPD ink family October 25th. Join us over the next week as we reveal the stamps, dies, patterned paper and sequins that are coming in this new collection, we can't wait!

Tricks for Holiday Cards with a Simple Layout

CatherineGeneral

Following our World Card Making Day weekend, you have hopefully been working on all your holiday cards! Let's take a look at a couple cards with a simple layout that can be tweaked or embellished in a variety of ways.

These two cards have the same basic layout and elements, but with small changes, you have a totally different card!

Start with a layer from our Cookies from Santa Patterned Paper Pack, add a Scallop Tag Duo frame, and adorn with the Santa mug from our new Holidays Mug Shots Stamp Set!

I picked a different paper from the Cookies from Santa Patterned Paper Pack for the second card. Add a Rectangle Die adorned with the Dotted Frames Hot Foil Frames, stamp a statement greeting and add some Holiday Mug Shots and a linzer cookie from the Jar Full of Joy – so cute!

This card was super easy and would be great for mass production. Cut your rectangle die layers and add a sentiment. Stamp, color and die cut your Holiday Mug Shot images and then layer it all over a piece of patterned paper- mixing and matching for stacks of cute cards!

This card makes me giggle! The lights patterned paper from the Holiday De-lights Patterned Paper Pack makes a great backdrop for a row of Christmas trees (in non-traditional colors, yes, PLEASE!!!) and a simple sentiment. This did NOT take me forever to make, but it's darling and you can make a bunch very quickly.

Patterned paper backgrounds, like this one from the Holiday De-Lights pack, are a quick and easy way to add some much color and pattern to your cards. Try cutting out tags and layering them up for a cute focal point for your sentiment and little stamped icons.

…and if simple is not your thing- you can kick it up a notch or three with a shaker card! This card has a lot more steps to creating it but the finished product is both fun and interactive.

Some of these cards were created on video, check them out on our socials: Facebook, Instagram and Youtube.
