20 cases of catalogs arrived on my front door step! WooHOOOOO! Thank you, Mr. Brown! I really only need about 10 cases right now, but I will be at the Creating Keepsakes Convention next weekend. If you're in or near Charlotte, come see me!
My favorite things from this new wonderful catalog? The new ribbons…can't wait to get my hands on those! the new clips and filigree brads and the Simply Scrappin' kits. I have liked the ones in the past, but I have to admit I haven't loved them. I think there are a few here that I could LOVE.
If you're not in one of my clubs or an upcoming hostess, purchase the catalog for $10 and get a $10 coupon for your first order! E-mail me and I”ll get it right out to you.
Happy, happy from Convention! I have a few ties for what I'm most happy about…
SU will carry the Big Shot Die Cut machine by Sizzex very soon…mine should arrive later this week!
Shelli Gardner, co-founder and CEO is starting her own blog, www.soshelli.com. Be sure to check it out and visit her challenge page. I can't wait to see some of the winning entries. Customers and Demos can enter!
In the next catalog, ALL stamp sets will be die cut!
I came home with 12 brand new stamp sets.
SU is has a new Spanish Language catalog.
Ok…I'm saving the best news for last…
One of my downline and very close friend, Kim Allen got a Founder's Circle bag and is Demonstrator of the Year #94! She has worked so hard to build a great business with a loyal customer base and a terrific downline. This was such excting and amazing news, I could hardly contain myself! Congrats to her!
For several months leading up to Convention, I begged my husband to join me in Salt Lake City because it was my outgoing Advisory Board year and I wanted him to be there with me. I was thrilled when we began making plans for him to join me.
Then for my big surprise, I was even more thrilled that he was with me when I was named the #5 Demonstrator for Sr. Associate promotions and the #7 top Demo for Sr. Supervisor promotions in my first level downline.
Then, I was astounded to be named the overall #4 Top Demo of the year. Wow! Thanks to my downline, my customers and my family for supporting me and cheering me on as I grow my business and have a blast while doing it! It wasn't exactly sure where I would place this year and when they named #11 and it wasn't me, I just put my head down on his shoulder and said, “oh, my goodness…I'm in the Top 10” What a dream come true.
Randall said my hands were so clammy and sweaty and I could feel my heart beating so hard as they called #10, #9, #8 …all the way to #5. Then next name was mine. We were both so thrilled!
I teased my husband tonight that Stampin' Up is my rich boyfriend! I came home with a necklace AND bracelet from Tiffany, a crystal paperweight from Tiffany for my AB year, a dozen roses, a diamond necklace and a gorgeous pink leather purse. Holy cow am I getting spoiled!
And it doesn't end there…my boyfriend..uhem! I mean Stampin' Up is taking me (and Kim!) on an all-expense paid trip to St. George, Utah from Sept. 17 – 22. I can't wait!
Here I am with Kim right after she called me to tell me she got her bag. I raced over to the Convention Center to tackle her in my excitement. What joy!
What a night!
Top 10 Demonstrators for Sr. Assoc. Promotions
Excited? Or just a fruit loop? I was having fun either way!
It was a long, but TERRIFIC 6 days out in Salt Lake City! I just arrived home a bit ago and wanted to sneak in a post before going to bed.
Stampin' Up has a beautiful new catalog! Join me this weekend to kick it off at my New Catalog Premier…Saturday in Cary, NC and Sunday in Raleigh, NC. There will be a few specials, you can pick up your new catalog and make a few projects with new stamp sets and new colors. I hope you will join me! If you can't and you would like to reserve your copy of our Award Winning Idea Book and Catalog, e-mail me!
My friend, Cheryl, took this photo of me…guess I was pretty happy about something. Not sure what, because it was a pretty happy 6 days. How much fun we had…I'll fill you in on some more later. Check back with me!
oooh…how much do I love, love Soft Sky!? It is a perfect, light gorgeous blue. And it's retiring.
I had an order for a Gift Certificate the other day and I made a really cute folder for it.
I basically just cut an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock 1/2″ wider than the GC. Then scored a few inches in, then scored again the length of the GC plus a 1/2″. Hope that makes sense.
Then, I cut a piece of Soft Sky Designer Series paper (retiring), mounted it on Blue Bayou cardstock (retiring), set a jumbo eyelet (NOT retiring) and tied Soft Sky Double Stitched Ribbon (retiring) around it all.
Here is the inside:
If you would like to give one of these as a gift, let me know! They are available in any denomination.
Remember I need to give some love to the retiring stamps!? Well, here's a little love for Bud Basics. I got this for free a couple years ago on the Stampin' Up cruise…oooh, I love me some free stamps!
This is Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery…don't they make a fabulous color combo?
On the background, I wheeled the Basics Outline in Chocolate Chip. The thing I love the most about this set and wheel is that you can wheel Basics Outline in black or brown, then use the stamps from the set to stamp the inside of the flower in a fun color! This set will no longer be available on August 10 and the wheel is available while supplies last. E-mail me to order!
Retiring Accessories that are SOLD OUT:
Brushed Copper CS
River Rock and Wild Wasabi ink refills
Antique Brass and Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware
Double Stitched Ribbon in Blue Bayou, Groovey Guava and Purely Pomegranate
I need to give some lovin' to some of my favorites that are on the retiring list right now, so here's one for Be Happy. When this set came out, I immediately fell in love! These are some fun stamps to play with! This was our club make and take this week. Soft Sky flowers in the background…the tag stamp was stamped on Purely Pomegranate textured cardstock with PP ink. Smile was inked in Wild Wasabi, stamped off once, then Rock n Rolled in the WW ink pad for a fun shadow around the stamp. PP, SS, WW are all In Colors that are only available for a few more weeks. E-mail me if you need to getchu some!
We've had quite the interesting week here. Progress on the stamp room furniture has been delayed. I went to take a photo of the problem and hubby wouldn't let me….maybe it's like taking a pic of a train wreck.
All the pieces were cut and routed and we were piecing it together and SNAP! One of the boards snapped in half.
The next day we went into the garage and there was water spurting out from our hot water heater. 2 more pieces…ruined! Ugh!
So my husband is doing a triathlon this weekend then back to work on the shelving. I'm trying my best to wait patiently!
What else have we been up to? Well, yesterday we sent a little girl to kindergarten. Can you tell which one? Boy, we had a hard time getting her on the bus..hehe!
She was so excited and had a great time! I can't wait to scrap this page.
Have you checked out the gallery here? I am so pleased to say that just in a few weeks there are almost 700 card samples!
My dream for this website is to have a gallery with thousands of projects and samples and lots of creative ideas for customers, downline and anyone else that needs inspiration…but I need your help! So, I was hoping you will help me!
If you are one of the first 10 people to post 20 samples to my gallery, as a thank you, I will send a goody pack with 10 samples and some other goodies I have in my stamp room . If you rise to the challenge, e-mail me immediately upon uploading your 20 with your address and I'll get your goodie pack out to you!!!
(If you are in my downline, I have a different challenge for you…if you don't know what it is, e-mail me and I'll tell you!)
I spent a bit of time playing in my stamp room today. I haven't been able to do that much this month with the girls home from school…but today I had and excuse! I have stamp club tomorrow! I was playing with Carte Postale….
And this one…will be one of the club projects using Brocade Blue and River Rock:
Excellent news! Stampin' up just announced that all new stamp sets in the Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog (including new hostess sets) will be die cut for your convenience! (stamp sets that carry over into the new catalog from the current one are will remain not die-cut). What fab news! But now what will I do while watching The Bachelorette? hehe!
First thing is to go to the gallery and register, next login to the gallery. Once you are logged in, you will see on the right hand side a bunch of options. Choose Upload Photos.
There will be a drop down menu that starts with Member Galleries…if you pull that down you will then choose the stamp set for your project so your project gets put under the correct stamp set. Then browse and choose the photo from your hard drive. There is a text box and you can type in anything you want for the sample including colors used, embellishments and any techniques.
Almost 2 years ago I began a blog. Now I am embarking on a new journey with this amazing website! I loved having my basic blog, but I was always bothered by the fact that once a card sample was “old”, it was pages back on my blog.
That is the main reason for switching to this sparkly, new beauty….I HAVE A GALLERY!!!!!!!! Yes, I am shouting! Yes I am excited! Yes!!! Yes! Yes!
I will be working the next few weeks on filling it up, but I'm going to need help from you! Please feel free to post your fabulous creations for us to share.
I hope you will use this site to inspire and BE inspired!
Just for fun, here is my first post on my blog from August of 2006:
I was just talking to one of my stampin' friends, Nerissa. I told her I was creating a blog. “What's a blog??” she asked. Little did she know it was going to take me 15 minutes to answer her! Nerissa- if you're reading this…now you know!
I was telling her the reasons I decided to create a blog… mostly is because I wanted to be able to share how stamping impacts my life.
I began telling her a story that I will tell you soon about my oldest daughter.
I went on to say that I used to think about stamping:
“Well, how often will I really use that stamp?” (negative)
what a time saver stamping can be…instead of making a special trip to the store, then taking 30 mins. to pick out just the right card!…(positive)
I can save money by making all our greeting cards and some gifts (another positive!)
Now stamping is more than that to me. It is a way to express myself, be creative, immerse my children in creativity, bond with my friends and meet new ones…and then I told Nerissa…
I am just beginning to work on something REALLY SUPER COOL this weekend! It will be a few weeks and it will take a lot of help from a friend (really, though, she's doing most of the work!), but what I have in store for you will knock your socks off! I hope you will stay tuned!!!
While I'm here, let me dig around and find something to share with you!
Wonderful Words and Time Well Spent stamp sets.
This fantastic, fabulous card was made by my buddy Amy Fitzgerald. She won the WOW card at our swap on May 19th. Loooooove it!
And here was the favorite Demonstratable card made by Marcia Gay, using Baroque Motifs, Lovely Letters and Fundamental Phrases. Awesome!
