Catherine Projects

This project sits on my counter in the kitchen.  It was a make and take from Leadership back in January.  Finally I choose to share it with you!

Basically, it's a scrapbook page mounted on a piece of our On Board chipboard.

My friend, Merri, took this photo of us.  SU had contacted me telling me they needed a family photo ASAP for an article they were doing on me.  Each year, they highlight the members of the Advisory Board in their magazine and it was my turn!

It's tough to get a family photo, I'm sure you know!  So we were headed out for a Christmas party and we handed Merri the camera.  I thought it turned out great except we couldn't get that middle child, Alana, to smile!  Rascal!

Bella Rose…and freebie

Catherine Projects

I love the new Bella Rose DSP.  It's girly and romantic and has a bit of a vintage look to it.

Here I used 2 coordinating patterns from Bella Rose, then stamped Dreams du Jour for a tag.

A simple make and take using the same supplies.  Card base is Riding Hood Red.

My friend Allyson made this for me.  Use a chipboard coaster, cover it with DSP and add the clip embellished with DSP.

Here's the back.

I just love using the same supplies and making a bunch of different projects with it.  Now I need to make a scrapbook page with these goodies!

You can get this stamp set for free in October or November by having a workshop with me!

Scary Basket

Catherine Projects

Here is another Big Shot project.  At first I wasn't crazy about this basket.  But of course, the more I have used it the more I like it!  I think this is one I will use over and over again.  AND on the same die, there is a tag and several flowers.  Cute, cute and so fun! I used the fun Ghostly Greetings DSP and Batty For You (can't get enough of that!) and tied the tag on with Kiwi Kiss striped grosgrain. So Scary! In September Cards & Projects class, we used this die to cut out some tags and some of the gals punched out the tag from chipboard and then glued their tag to the chipboard tag.  Lovin' it!

Upsy Daisy

Catherine Projects

This was another demonstration from Convention using the stamp set called Upsy Daisy.  You can get it for 15% off only through Sept. 30 and pay only $16.11!  So e-mail me right away to order, or use the online ordering from my Stampin' Up website!

How do you do this?  Take your sponge daubers, dip them into different colors of ink and pounce on your stamp!  Stampin' Up inks dry fast, so you might have to huff on it before stamping to re-moisten the ink.  Simply beautiful!

Silver Salutations

Catherine Projects

I just added this card to my gallery…my friend and downline, Tracey Renaud Fitzgerald who is a Stampin' QUEEN made it! You know she's had her stampin' work published in a magazine!!  We gotta get her to do her own blog!

She used an empty jumbo ink cartridge, filled it with Versamark ink, then wheeled the Beautiful wheel on white cardstock.  Then she poured Silver Embossing Powder on it and heated.  Together with the black and red and this card gets a huge wow!

What do you think about adapting this to a wedding invitation?  Fabulous!

Home from Founder’s

Catherine Projects

I flew on Sunday from Las Vegas to Buffalo, NY to go to my mom's to pick up the kids.  Then we had to get up at 3 AM!!! to get our flight.  I thought yesterday was going to be pretty much a waste of a day…but I came home all inspired by the break and being around all those awesome demonstrators!  I worked some yesterday…today is the day I'm having trouble getting in the groove!

I thought I would share a few more photos of the great time I had.

Dinner with demos including my very good friend Anna-Marie Still and her sweet little guy.

Our closing dinner was a surprise.  Stampin' Up loaded us on buses and drove us away!  We arrived at Snow Canyon for dinner and a movie on the lawn!  This is the place they filmed High School Musical II.  They had chairs set up for us with a blanket that we got to take home with us and lots of goodies!  Pizza, popcorn, candy and soda!

Meg Loven, Aly Shilling and Me with our Chenille Pink Blankies!

Rolled up DSP for a popcorn holder…how clever!

And notice the banner made out of our Pennant die for the Big Shot!

A final photo of me and my good friend, Kim Allen who is also my downline.  She was the #94 Demonstrator of the Year and I am so proud of her!  She has worked her business so hard and soooo deserved this wonderful trip and honor!  You rock, Kim!

Totally Techniques

Catherine Projects

Check out this fun 6×6 Technique page.  It was from a swap this summer at Covention.  We swapped 20 Technique Pages and now have a great reference book to showcase and refer back to.  Awesome!

One day while talking to a few of my new downline, we decided that this would be a great thing to make as a group.  So I am trying out a new event with my downline.  In October, and possibly once each quarter, we will get together and complete 6 Technique Pages.  They can be bound together or put in one of our 6×6 scrapbooks.

If you would like more information about becoming a demonstrator and joining the SUpreme Stampers group, please contact me!

From St. George, Utah

Catherine Projects

Yesterday was another great day here at Founder's Circle.

The day started out finishing swaps…we made 130 cards to trade with each other!  Holy cow!  I hope you will join me at one of my next events to see all these wonderful Holiday cards!  Shelli even stopped by to visit and work on her own!

Next, I hung out at the pool for a while, then went on a mad shopping spree with a couple of friends.  I will not go into detail here just in case hubby is eavesdropping here!

One thing I will show you is the pjs I found.  I bought a pair for myself, and my downline Kim that also made Founder's Circle!  Can you just die!  The pjs match the theme and decor so perfectly!

There were yummy snacks and here is my wonderful Canadian friend, Lynsay, helping herself to a Rootbeer float.  How fun!

How gorgeous is THIS!  At the pj party we each received a pen and notepad.  Awesome!

The surprises didn't stop there.  Upon returing to our rooms, we each found a beautiful PINK leather wallet on our beds.

How many times as an adult do we get this princess treatment and all these wonderful surprises!  I am so thankful for Stampin' UP, my customers, my downline and my family that supports me.  Ok, I'm getting sappy and sound like I'm accepting an emmy or something..hehe!

Talk about surprises!  I was a bit sick today while we were out visiting the manufacturing facility in Kanab and missed the tour…I was sleeping on the couch at the plant!  Guess it was altitude sickness…anyways, there was just a knock on the door.  It was a little goodie bag with a note saying sorry you're sick, a sprite and tomato soup from the front desk of the hotel.  Wow!  How cool is THAT!?

Founder’s Circle

Catherine Projects

I really was not planning to post while on my trip to St. George, Utah while attending Stampin' Up's Founder's Circle Retreat, but I just got so darned excited I had to share!

SU is super fantastic about surprises and we've alreay had several since arriving this afternoon.  What a great way for me to end 3 travel days out of the last 4…we flew home from Disney on Sunday, I flew the kids to Rochester, NY on Tues. then flew to Utah from Buffalo this morning.

But enought of that…on to the surprises!

We were greeted at the door to our rooms with this beauty!  Our names on a beautiful plaque…and guess what!? My name is die cut out of vinyl!  WooHOOOO!  This sure got a squeal out of me.

This is my hotel room…and guess what??!  Giggle***it's just for me!

The next surprise was in the Gathering Place.  They had these super terrific totally cute candy carts set up!   There is a little tin pail for each of us tied with our new Pink Pirouette ribbon and we can load up on the candy anytime of the day all weekend long!  Yipeeeeee!

Next I found my upline, Karin and my downline, Kim at the Pool.  How cool is that!?  All 3 of us were in the Top 100 Demonstrators of the Year!

STAMPS!!!  We played a little game and each got a new stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Dinner was elegant and wonderful.

Upon returning to the room after dinner, we had these goodie hanging in our bathrooms.  And guess what was inside!!!!!!!???  A new stamp set along with ink pads and a roll of ribbon.  Delish!!!!!!!  This caused me to squeal yet again.

Tomorrow I will hang by the pool, relax and maybe do a little shopping.

Halloween Happenin’s

Catherine Projects

The girls and I started making some cutie stuff for Halloween.  I was inspired when I went to Convention and saw these candy cups demonstrated on stage.  I get so many terrific ideas when I attend Stampin' Up events…the next one is on Nov. 8 in Va. Beach…let me know if you want to join me! Demonstrators along with customers are invited to attend!

This project is quick and fun…and cheap!  The candy cup is made from 2″ of a toilet paper roll, or if you're like my husband and think that is totally gross, you can use a paper towel roll, LOL!

I cut 2 pieces of our new Ghostly Greetings DSP to a notch over 2″ x 5 1/4.  I ran my SNAIL along the top and bottom, breaking my rule of “a little goes a long way” and used quite a bit…then I just adhered it to the cardboard.  For the inside piece, add some SNAIL, roll it up and stick it inside.

I used my scallop circle punch to punch out a piece of coordinating cardstock to adhere to the bottom.  I ran a tad bit of Crystal Effects around the rim, then stuck it to my scallop circle.  Next punch a hole through a strip of DSP and the cup for the handle.

Viola!  You have a cute candy cup!  And if you make a bunch of them, you have a candy cup tree!

I wrapped a piece of the DSP around the vase, added a ribbon and a coordinating stamp and scallop punch, then the kids filled the vase with Peppermint Patties.

BTW- Just so you don't think I'm a nut…I was able to figure out how to write a post and schedule it to publish in the future!  So even though we are in Disney World, I am able to post every couple days to share stampin' stuff with you!

Disney Bound

Catherine Projects

Well, we are scheduled to leave for Disney World Friday at 3 pm.  We are keeping a close eye on Hanna right now.  Keep your fingers crossed for us.  We will be heading south as she is heading north.

I was thinking the other day about the fact that if I didn't have this Stampin' Up Business, we wouldn't be able to afford a 9 day vacation with 3 kids in Disney.

Then I thought if I hadn't found SU, would I have worked another job to make the $ to do some of the things we are able to now…my thought was, NO!  I wouldn't work so we could go have fun!  That kinda cracked me up..because this is work, but it hardly ever feels like work!

Imagine your husband putting the kids to bed, and a bunch of friends come over for an evening of stamping…AND you get paid for it!  That's what I do about 5 times each month!  How much fun is that….now, because this is my job, I have to tell you if you think this is intriguing, let me know and we can chat about whether SU would be a fit for you!  You might just get a job you love, too!

On to the stamping…before we head out to the magic place, let me share…

I received this card in the mail a couple months ago and was delighted when I opened it.  It was from the CEO and Co-founder of Stampin' Up, Shelli Gardner!  It was a thankyou note for serving on the Advisory Board.  It uses some of our Brocade stamp sets, Always Artichoke, So Saffron and half back pearls from the Pretties Kit.  I love it!

It’s beginning to look a bit like…

Catherine Projects

fall!  In comes my friend, Kimberly again!  She has inspired me to get playing with some of my Halloween goodies!  My new Ghostly Greetings Designer Series paper just arrived the other day and miraculously I got a moment to play.

This is one of my favorite projects that I have been admiring for almost a year now and have never made myself.  I took York Peppermint Patties, punched out DSP with my scallop punch, stamped my image from Batty for You, punched out with my 1 1/4″ circle punch and glued it all together.

I put it all in a cello bag (yes, sold by SU!), ran my DSP through the Big Shot with our exclusive Top Note die cut (my fav right now), folded it in half, stapled and tied some of the new, wonderful Tangerine Tango striped grosgrain ribbon around it.

One thing I have been doing lately is choosing a pack of DSP, then using that as a springboard to pick my coordinating colors of cardstock, ink, ribbon, brads, etc.  I love how easy SU makes it for us to have fabulous looking projects with little effort and no art degree!  LOL!
