It’s a Party with Erika!

Catherine General

The Extra Frosting Bundle was calling Erika's name so she hit her craft desk to bake up some fun birthday cards! With inspiration from the Vintage Garden Patterned Paper color combo, Erika stamped a bunch of cupcake tops and wrappers.

She also inked up the Wonky Stripe Background Stamp and made several different backgrounds. Let's check out how they came together!

This wintery green pairing is so soft and pretty. Erika cut down her striped background and popped it up on the card with foam tape. The Party Tag Dies are stars on this card with the little direct-to-paper bunting pieces and the scallop and rectangle dies she cut and used to stamp her sentiment.

The Everybody Say Happy Sentiment Stamp Set has so many cute sentiments to chose from! This time, she did her background stamped vertically which creates a nice visual flow for the stacked cupcake and sentiment.

I especially love the WOW! Gold Pearl Embossed cupcake liner. So sweet!

This card was calling for a shaker element!! The Zermatt Sequins paired perfectly with her color combo. Using the Party Tag Dies makes shaker cards a snap!

Erika loves mint and chocolate so this cupcake's color combo felt like a must! She simply ink blended, spritzed and splattered her background to get nice texture and a bit of metallic shimmer. This would look great in any color combo you could dream up!

Which card idea will inspire yours with the Extra Frosting Bundle??

Let’s Have a Ball with Allison!

Catherine General

Brand Ambassador, Allison could not get enough of the Snow Day Bundle and these little happy snowmen! Let's take a look at a couple of her card creations from the Snow-rific Birthday Collection.

This card was done with a watercolor technique on watercolored card stock. She added texture and shadow on her stamped snowmen which really takes the images up a notch! She used our classic Postage Stamp Dies to create a layer for her scene over a piece of the Snow Day Patterned Paper. I love her Melon Ice stamped snowflakes on the background- such a cute choice with her red and green color combo.

A little creative cluster on this one layer card and there is a whole snow-party going on! Allison colored in her images with CP ink and a blender brush again on a watercolor card stock which adds a bit of texture. She also gave her card a little splatter with the Gansai Tambi Starry Nights watercolor paints to add a snowy effect.

This one is for times when we don't want to color!! Using the Slim Alphabet Dies and Melon Edge Dies, Ally created quite the snowdrift scene and her very own custom sentiment. This one is definitely snow-rific and CP approved!!

Snow-rific Projects by Amanda!

Catherine General

Brand Ambassador, Amanda, can work wonders with some patterned paper and she had a ball getting paper crafty with the Snow Day Bundle. The Snow Day Patterned Paper color combo is perfect for winter and holiday projects.

Amanda Fitterer

Amanda created this little fancy folds gift card holder. She added patterned paper to each panel in this project and created a card and an envelope in one!

Amanda Fitterer

Your recipient will love unfolding this card to reach the surprise inside. I love how she embellished the inside with all the little snow friends! …the Starbucks gift card is kind of exciting too!!

Amanda Fitterer

This project is a little booklet. Amanda added a snow flake focal point to the front with the Snow Many Flakes Dies. It's so nice to give someone a birthday greeting that is also a keepsake.

Inside there are more decorated pages. This one features the Frosted Window die with some soft ink blending on the background. There are more snow people inside celebrating the recipient! There's even room to add a photo from the occasion. Just snow ridiculously cute!!

Holiday Card Making Series Episode #3: Christmas Lattes

Catherine General

In Episode #3 of our Holiday Card Making Series, I'm using one of our wildly popular fall stamp sets for Christmas! Our Fall Calls for Lattes Stamp Set was a big favorite around here and I couldn't resist making some piping hot latte drinks- Christmas style!! Peppermint latte anyone?

I started with the Wrapped Patterned Paper, which made it really easy to grab Copic Markers in coordinating colors – check out this Youtube Video to see how to choose your own! The holly leaf from the Old Saint Nick Stamp Set was the perfect little somethin' to dress up my latte stamped and die cut image.

These lattes are so cute they really could be the star of the show for my card. Try stamping out several of the drinks/mugs from the stamp set, color, and then mix and match with sentiments from the Merriest Sentiments Stamp Set.

How about just die cutting with patterned paper? I used the to-go cup die and then did a little fussy cut magic to create a patterned cup and sleeve. I added the top of the to-go cup and it's like coffee magic! The Holiday One Liner Sentiment “time to jingle and mingle” felt like the right fit with this coffee on the go card!

Erika couldn't let me have all the fun as a java junkie herself! She used inspiration from my cards and most of the same supplies but went with an alternative holiday color combo. How fun it this?

She made her card in two slightly different ways and used strips of paper from the Mod Strips Cover Plate. That color combo just might need to be used again…hmm…ideas BREWING!

Holiday Card Making Series Episode 2 : Mass Producing Cards with Watercolor Backgrounds

Catherine General

The ombre ink blended background, the water flicking, the contrast of the white embossed sentiment on red and the Tree Trimmings Die cut out of this card make it a show stopper!

In this video, I'm going to show you how to create this card by Lisa Harrolle and create 4 at once! I'll also share tips for mass producing cards for the holidays!

When creating several cards at once, do each step for all the cards at once, assembly line style!

Catherine Pooler Inks are water-based, dye ink and they are water reactive! They are easy to blend and when you spray or spritz water on them, they react to the water. The color will move and blend and if you spritz water droplets on your project, the color will be “bleached out”, creating a really cool technique piece!

Thank you for joining us for Episode #2 in our Holiday Card Making Series! New videos premiere every Sunday at 8pm Eastern and Wednesday at Noon Eastern during October. Be sure to head over to Youtube and subscribe to the channel so you don't miss a thing!

Holiday Card Making Series Episode 1: Coloring with CP Inks and Copic Markers

Catherine General

When working with line art stamps for your holiday cards, you have options for coloring from simple to multi-shaded masterpieces!

In my first video for the Holiday Card Making Series, I demonstrating coloring techniques using both Copic Markers and Blender Pens with CP ink. Coloring the images in the Old Saint Nick Stamp Set has been endlessly enjoyable this year!

Check out the video to see all the tips and tricks for coloring with CP inks and Copic Markers as well as adding details with embossing powders!

With Copic Markers, choose your main color and then use shades a few levels lighter and darker to add highlights and shadow to your image. Just adding some darker lines around the edges of Santa's coat brings so much life to the image. A little detail of embossing is also a great addition.

You can also match to your stamping and patterned paper by choosing to color with your coordinating CP Inks. Tap some ink on an acrylic block or mixed-media surface and use blender pens to color away! You can still build shadow and interest by layering up your ink color. (look at that White Puff embossed trim!!)

No matter what medium, style or skill level, coloring your holiday creations can be a lot of fun.

A Jolly Week of Holiday Card: Holly Jolly Christmas Collection

Catherine General

Since our Holly Jolly Christmas Collection hit the shop, I've been in a holiday card making frenzy! I've been creating with all the new bundles of holiday goodies and mixing and matching too. This collection will have you singing “jingle all the way” to the craft room!

The Christmas Critters Bundle is ready for all the card mischief. How cute is that little naughty kitty?

The Better Not Pout Bundle is great for bringing the holiday nostalgia. I adore this patterned paper.

Here, I went wild and mix and matched various products together. How about all that pink for Christmas? I am here for it!

This was a two-for-one deal playing with the Belly Laughs Cover Plate Die. What a fun layout for any images you want to highlight!

The Jack Frost Cover Plate is an instant classic. How gorgeous does it look just white on white??

The Holly Bundle is a show stopper and fan fave! Embossing the Holly Jolly Word Die in gold makes a beautiful centerpiece for this Party Green holly card. I don't know which one is my favorite!! How do you chose?

Stamped and Die Cut Holly Leaves with Jolly Holly Stamp Set!

Catherine General

The Jolly Holly Stamp Set was designed with two-step stamping in mind! This versatile set can be used in a variety of ways so let's check out what some of our team have made!

Erika Post

Erika started off with some clever masking over a piece of Matcha Cardstock which was created with the Direct-to-Paper Technique. She then ink blended Eucalyptus over the masked leaves, peeled back the masked leaves, then stamped her patterns in Spruce. To add more interest, she added solid stamped die cut holly and berries. Don't forget a flick of gold metallic watercolor to keep it all festive!

Erika Post

This simple design was created with a little garland out of the smallest stamped and die cut leaves and berries. Using the patterns and leaves in two colors from the same color family gives such a pretty look. I like the wintery blue-greens in the mix!

Ilina Crouse

Ilina's card has a mix of spa greens and blue-greens, too. I love her addition of the red beads from the Vienna Sequin Mix to the sweater print leaves. This card is so clean and simple and would be perfect for making a batch of holiday cards.

The Jolly Holly Stamp Set is a must-have this holiday season for cards, tags, and gifts, too! Check out all the products in the shop using the links below. Thank you for visiting!

Ink Blending and Flicking- Holiday Style!

Catherine General

Catherine Pooler Inks blend like a dream and you can create so much drama and interest to a simple card with these techniques.

Ilina Crouse

Ilina created this pair of gorgeous cards. She started by blending the top of her card panel on this one with Fiesta Blue and Cummerbund Inks. By letting it soften to white, you get a beautiful glow around the stamped and die cut gifts from the Tied with a Bow Stamp Set. She created a snowy texture by flicking on white Acrylic Paint.

Ilina Crouse

I love the interest lina created with the scored edged on the white cardstock layers! I'm definitely going to add that detail to some of my cards! The stack of gifts is a perfect focal point for this winter scene.

All the products are linked below, check them out in the shop!

This Holiday Paper Project is a Wrap!

Catherine General

Our 6×6 Patterned Papers are perfect for cards and scrapbook spreads but there are loads of other holiday projects you can create. Brand Ambassador Amanda, made an adorable little holiday booklet featuring the Wrapped Patterned Paper.

All tied up with twine, this little booklet is just so cute! The Party color combo of It's a Girl, Rockin' Red, Melon Ice, Lime Rickey, Mardi Gras, and All that Jazz makes us so happy!!

Tucked inside are little tags and pockets, which are great places for adding notes or holiday photos.

Amanda did it up right by adding stamped and colored images from the Naughty List Stamp Set. Look how she used the Tree Trimmings die as a focal point for this stamped sentiment.

What a precious and creative little project! Anyone would be over the moon to receive this gift and why not add photos of your holiday with the pets? I don't know about you, but I am ready to try one of these myself!!

Check out these products in the shop by clicking the links below. Thanks for visiting!
