Hello Stamper Friends! Hope you are having a great Sunday.
Here is a card that I love to use for my workshops. It's quick, easy and who doesn't need a birthday card!
My favorite ink pad to use for watercoloring is the Black StazOn ink pad. Stamp your main image with the Black StazOn, which is 100% waterproof, then you are able to use your Blender Pens which are basically clear markers, to color in your image without the black outline bleeding.
111618 Crazy for Cupcakes Stamp Set $23.95
102845 Blender Pens $9.95 for 3
101406 Black StazOn Ink Pad $7.95
115656 Melon Mambo Ink Pad $5.50
105216 Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad $5.50
115611 Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon $9.95
105117 Pumpkin Pie Cardstock $7.95
100730 Whisper White Cardstock $7.50
107204 Ticket Corner Punch $6.95
And of course, if you want to glitter your cupcake frosting, don't forget the 102023 Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and the 100425 2 Way Glue Pen!
Hello, Stamper Friends! Today is a gorgeous fall day in North Carolina! I've got a bit of time here before it's time to get ready for Eva's 5th birthday party. We're having just a couple friends over for an “almost sleepover”. We chose to keep this one simple because our 3 children have birthdays within 6 weeks of each other and it makes for an exhausting fall!
So this is the kind of card that will be perfect for me when I'm making over 75 cards to send to friends and family! Simply cut your White Cardstock in half the long way at 4 1/4, fold in half, stamp Dasher in the bottom corner, add a 2 x 4 1/4″ strip of Christmas Cocoa Designer Series Paper, tie your ribbon around it (this is the backside of the polka dot ribbon!), add a bit of glitter to his horns and under his feet for snow and you're done! I think I would also stamp the envelopes with just the horns. Wouldn't that look cool?
116816 Dasher Stamp Set $8.95
100730 Whisper White Cardstock $7.50
107301 White Envelopes $6.50 (40 in a pack)
115608 Real Red Polka Dot Ribbon $8.95
100908 Chocolate Chip Ink Pad $5.50
102023 Dazzling Diamonds Glitter $4.50
100425 2 Way Glue Pen $3.50
Christmas Cocoa Designer Series Paper $11.95
This kit will make 80 cards for less than $60 subtotal!

I'm taking today to recover from the busy week. My house is a mess, clean and dirty clothes are everywhere, but I went to bed at 8:30 last night and I'm REFRESHED! yay!
My oldest daughter, Anna, wanted to share how to apply our Decor Elements with you. She is applying the letter E to a photo frame that has a 12 x 12 piece of Kaleidescope Designer Series Paper in it. These make great gifts. The letters are only $3.95 and you get the upper AND lower case letter with it! Download the Decor Elements catalog here.

Did you know you can get a FREE Decor Elements product for free (up to $16.95) when you purchase $50 of Stampin' Up products from the Holiday Gift Giving Guide. Download it here.
Today was another busy day with the last session of the Sugarplum Fair, then I went to school to run a “practice” 5K with my oldest daughter. She is in a program called Girls on the Run. It's a Self Esteem Building Running Program for girls ages 8 – 12. This is her second session of it and I just signed her up for her third. They meet twice a week to play games and run and at the end of 12 weeks, they run a 5K race. It's been a great program for my daughter and a great thing for her and I to share! Check it out!
I wanted to share this great card made by my friend, Beth Coburn. I've been seeing lots of wreath cards lately and they are just gorgeous! This one uses the Autumn Days Stamp set. Think I hear a tutorial calling?
Here's another darling card using the Berry Christmas stamp set that my friend Amy made.
If you would like to come to my Christmas Card Crank (register on the events page), we will be making a card slightly similar to this one.
It was a fun morning at the Sugarplum Fair! Lots of friends stopped by and quite a few new ladies popped by to see my booth. If that was you, thanks for checking out my website and I hope to see you soon!
I've been super busy the last week with classes, a sinus infection, running a half marathon (can't believe I can say that now!) and getting ready for my favorite Craft Fair, the Sugarplum Fair. It takes place at my child's (all 3 of my kids have gone there) preschool, Soapstone Preschool. It's the biggest fundraiser of the year. I've been a vendor every year since the first one, and boy has this event grown! If you are in the Raleigh area, stop by Soapstone off Norwood Rd. Weds. 9 – 1 or 6 -9 or Thurs. 9 – 1.
I have to share this card with you, though, made by my good friend, Amy Fitzgerald using the stamp set Sparkly and Bright. She stamped the tree in versamark, used Heat and Stick powder, then put the olive glitter from the Glitter Stacks. Oooh, so Sparky and Bright!
Here is a fun, quick card we made in Cards and Projects this month. If you would like to come to this class for FREE each month, join my Stampin' Up Hostess Club! For 10 months, you place a minimum $15 purchase with me. One of the months you will get the free hostess goodies! If you can't come to class on a given month, simply email me with your order.
What a great way to spread out your spending, get a free class and free hostess stamps and merchandise!
This Sunday morning, we were hanging out in the kitchen and Eva (my almost 5 year old) decided she wanted to make this card. I looked over and she was using the Big Shot Texturz Plates all by herself!!!!! I couldn't believe it. She put her Polka Dot texturz plate on the Multi-purpose platform, then laid down her cardstock, placed the silicone rubber (114615) on that, then the Impressions pad (114614) on that, then ran it through! I just HAD to take a video so she could demonstrate it for you. See for yourself how easy the Big Shot is to use!
And here is the finished product (you can't tell but the Bermuda Bay Cardstock has the textured polka dot background).
The More the Merrier Hostess Stamp Set (111648 Holiday Lineup would work, too!)
The North Carolina State Fair was in town last week and we spent the whole day there on Sunday. We began our day with walking by all the crashed up demolition cars. The kids thought that was totally cool!
Of course, we got lots-o-junk food, and we made a stop by my favorite…the cake displays. When my kids are grown and out of the house and I'm bored (LOL, that'll happen, right?) I dream about decorating cakes like this. Aren't they gorgeous!?
Then we went to where the cards were on display. I always love to see that most of the cards entered are made with Stampin' Up supplies! Raleigh knows SU!! My friend Tracey Renaud entered these, and notice the blue ribbon on her santa card!
Next we checked out the artwork from area schools. We were excited to see our school, Sycamore Creek Elementary, well represented. Our fabulous art teacher (and fellow demo), Kecia Mountz is amazing!

Hello Stamper Friends! A few more Stampin' Up Founder's Circle Swaps using these delightful autumn stamp sets!
This one is from my dear friend, Jen Jacobsen. She used the Falling Leaves Stamp set with Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Dusty Durango.
Margaret Van Vliet swapped this one using the Autumn Splendor Stamp Set, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, Soft Suede, Really Rust, Autumn Meadows Designer Series Paper, the Table Setting Die to die cut the tag (LOVE that!), brads and Vanilla Grosgrain ribbon.
And this one is from one of our Canandian friends, Winona Selmer. She used Autumn Splendor Stamp Set, Kraft Cardstock, Basic Black, Soft Suede, Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper, Jumbo Eyelets, Wood Grain Texutz Plate, Aquapainter, Natural Hemp, Ovals Die, Lots of Tags Die, 1 1/4″ Circle Punch.
I've been busy today working on the promised video! So here is my video on the Smoosh technique. What a cool effect!
I got a bit cut off there at the end, but here is the finished product:

115612 Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon
104199 Linen Thread
114342 Pumpkin Pie Corduroy Button
103104 Large Cello Bags
Stampin' TIP– Stamp your greeting FIRST, then stamp the leaves around it. If you stamp the leaves first, you might run out of room for the greeting! And, the stamp the first leaves close to your greeting and work your way out. That way you're not left with a small space in the middle of your card with no stamping and your stamps are too big to stamp there. (does that make sense??!! In my mind it does, LOL!).
This is the card we will be doing in club on Sunday and Monday! (If you click on the bookmarks below, you can email this post or share it on Facebook…bring your friends along so they can look super crafty, too!!)
The background is different, I used the Texturz plates from the Big Shot.

Ladies! I'm so excited! I've got my new laptop and it's smokin'! There are so many amazing features on this machine for me to use in my business and to make this website better and easier for me to run. The one thing I'm pumped about right now is my Snipping Tool! Can you believe I was asking my husband to get catalog images for me when he was at work. Now I can do it myself and it's so stinkin' easy I can hardly believe it!
My list includes improving my videos (well, I've only done one, but you know what I mean), posts, photos, and getting into My Digital Studio. I'll be studying up on it more in the next week and hope to have some great projects to share with you very soon!
Let me share a few things with you now. I posted today quite a few cards with the same papers and stamp sets, so now that it's way easy for me to Snip the images, here they are!
Well, I think that's it for now. I've got lots of things to do with this new baby!
I have a few more swaps from Stampin' Up's Founder's Circle to share with you today.
The first one is from Sara Wiger and she used white cardstock, reinkers in Melon Mambo and Dusty Durango, Champagne Shimmer Paint, Versamark pad, Crushed Curry ribbon, dimensionals, 1″ and 1 1/4″ circle punches, Falling Leaves Stamp Set. The very pretty side layer was made using the “smoosh” technique. Put reinkers (or Markers) on a page protector ( that was cut open on 3 sides) randomly, drop shimmer paint on it, spray with water, close and smoosh around. Open and add your paper, then close and smoosh some more. Let dry before adding to your project.
Uh, do I hear VIDEO? What do you all think? Should I make a video for this?
This next card was made by Susie Wood and uses cardstock in Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Really Rust, Very Vanilla. It looks like she used the Rock and Roll technique on that leaf…ink it in More Mustard, then roooolllll the stamp on your chocolate chip ink pad. Cool!
She also used the Autumn Traditions stamp set, the spiral punch, chocolate chip wide grosgrain ribbon and Autumn Meadows Designer Series Paper.
This card was made by Jeanna Cable and used the Autumn Traditions stamp set, cardstock in Dusty Durango, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Taken With Teal, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.
She also used the Modern Label Punch, the Word Window Punch and the Leaves Big Shot die.
Sorry about the lighting on this one. yikes! I'm not sure who made this one, but I love her mix of Dusty Durango, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive with the Autumn Traditions Stamp set.
With all these cards, I do believe I'm feeling fall coming on!
The past 2 days, we've been shopping for a new laptop…hubby was “making” me wait until Oct. 22 when Windows 7 came out…well, it's the 28th and I think we've narrowed it down to 2. I'm hoping to make the decision and go pick it up tonight. I'm super excited because now that I'm going down the video road, I do believe I need some better equipment! yipppeeee! I'll keep ya posted.
And if you are in one of my hostess clubs, don't forget to register for Sunday or Monday. Thoughts? Should we do the Smoosh Technique? or maybe Polished Stone?? I just can't decide!
If you're not in hostess club, but would like to, it's just a minimum $15 purchase each month for 10 months. One of those months, you will get the free hostess goodies all to yourself, and as a bonus, you can attend the Cards and Projects class for FREE every month! So contact me today to sign up!!!!!!
Also, be sure to check the events page, I posted several new classes for November and December. Hope to see you then!
Have you seen Stampin' Up's Shimmer Paint? I have seen many uses for it, be sure to read on.
My husband's birthday was last week and I dressed up a plain white package with a tag stamped with the Autumn Splendor stamp set from Stampin' Up's Mini Catalog.
I used Sponge Daubers to apply the ink directly to the stamp.
Shimmer paint comes in 3 colors:
116806 Champagne Mist (my personal favorite)
116854 Frost White
116807 Platinum (this gives a similar look to our Encore Silver Ink Pad)
My friend, Susan shared some information about the shimmer paint…she's got good stuff here! Read on:
The Platinum Silver shimmer paint dries quickly and your stamped image will not smear when you rub your finger over it like the Encore will. However, if you want to use embossing powder, the Encore is your best route. The Silver shimmer paint is opaque and can be applied to ribbon if you want a silver ribbon for your project.
The Champagne Mist shimmer paint is translucent and can be used with any color to add a golden shimmer. For example, I sponged some onto crushed curry card stock before I die cut a little star. It was beautiful. You can also sponge some onto a stamp that you have already inked before stamping it onto your card stock to add shimmer to the stamped image.
You can make a great shimmer mist spray by putting ordinary rubbing alcohol from your first aid kit into a small empty fine-mist spray bottle filling it about 3/4 full and then adding roughly 1/2 teaspoon of Champagne Mist shimmer paint to it. Cover and shake well then spray onto any color card stock. You will need to shake it frequently as it settles out quickly. Add more or less shimmer paint to the bottle as desired.
The Frost White shimmer paint is also more opaque and can be sponged on to “ink” a stamp. You can also tint it with any of our ink refills to create any shimmery color desired.
All shimmer paints can be used on fabric, so be careful not to spill.
Thanks Susan for that great information!
My next newsletter will be going out next week with November specials, projects and more, so be sure to sign up while you're here!
Hi Stamper Friends! Here is a fun Halloween card…this would be great on a scrapbook page as well!
I rolled my wheel across my Versamark Ink Pad, wheeled the Haunting Hill wheel across my white cardstock, poured on some black Embossing Powder, then heated it using my Heat Tool. Next, I used a Sponge Dauber to dab on Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry ink.
