Welcome Home Kenly!

Catherine Projects

We picked up our new puppy first thing Sat. morning.  What a wonderful day it was and I thought about the fact that this is a day our children will remember…and even if Eva, our youngest doesn’t, I have plenty of pictures to remind her!

We had an hour drive home and we each got about 15 minutes to hold him.

He did great when we got home.  Played a bit, but then slept for hours all day long.  We are crate training him and he gets right in there, many times on his own!

Other than the kids bossing each other around, fighting over him and wanting to play with him constantly, it’s been a dream!  LOL!

These pictures crack me up!

It’s going to be a fun adventure….

Holy Pumpkins!

Another card from my fabulous upline, Karin Grotjohn.

There are so many things I love about this card.  The colors (not my normal colors, too!), the little hat, the clip, the torn edge, the simplicity, the clip, the clip!!!

You know you can order these clips from me, you know!

Don’t forget this stamp set is 20% off in October!

Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango.

Stamp-A-Ma-What??!!

Catherine Projects

Everytime I show this nifty little tool, those that haven’t ever seen it LOVE it!  It’s called a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.  And for $11.95, you’ll find it an affordable piece that you can’t resist!

First, line the imaging sheet up in the corner of your SAMJ.  Then line your stamp in the corner as well and stamp your image.

Line up your imaging sheet so the image you just stamped is where you want it.

Place your SAMJ at the corner of the imaging sheet, remove the imaging sheet, then line your stamp with the SAMJ and stamp!

Viola!

New Family Member

Catherine Projects

We had one of the greatest dogs on earth, Major, for 14 1/2 years.  He passed away almost 3 years ago.  At the time we were knee deep in little kids running and crawling around and didn’t feel like we were ready to take on another one.

Fast forward almost 3 years…we have 2 kids in Elementary School, one in 3 mornings per week preschool and things are settling down a bit….yes, just a bit.

Well, we really want our children to grow up with a dog in their lives and our oldest is 9.  After a lot of thought and talk about when, how, why, what kind….look at who we found last night:

He is almost 5 weeks now, so we can’t take him home until Sat., Nov. 1.  We can’t wait!

Here he is with some of his siblings.

Now for the names…on the table right now are Max, Sam, Kenly (that’s the name of the town he is in).

Then I called him Prince Charming and Alana loved that name and wants to call him Charming.  Well, we are considering that for a middle name.  Alana is really on this name thing and suggested Chester.

Chester Charming.

Chess for short.

What do you think?  Any other suggestions for us?

Ramblin’ Rose Triathlon, Chapel Hill

Catherine Projects

Some of you that have been hangin’ around with me have heard me freaking out for about the past 9 months because I signed up for the Ramblin’ Rose Triathlon.  Triathlon?  Are you kidding me?  I could barely run then.

But, I swam, I biked, and I ran…and on Sunday, I joined my 2 sister-in-laws for the Tri.   I felt pretty good starting out.  I was in line waiting to get in the pool for the swim, and there was my family huddled at the window outside the pool waving like crazy at me.  I have the best husband around.  It was cold.  It was early.  And it was his birthday!  My girls even made a sign to cheer me on.

The swim went well, the bike was a bit hard and the run was a challenge…I was pretty tired by then.  But I just kept going and I made it!

When I finished, I had a few tears because…wow…I finished!  I did a triathlon!  I felt pretty good!  And now my 9 year old daughter wants to do it with me next year.  How cool will that be??!!

Cute Mark

Catherine Projects

We made this bookmark at Convention using a few of my new favorite things.

First, the Pacific Point striped grosgrain ribbon.  I wasn’t sure about this color, but it so rich and wonderful I am really enjoying playing with it!

Next, we threaded the end of the ribbon through one of the new Filigree brads.  These brads are little flowers with a center that you put a brad through to secure it.  SU was clever and put the ribbon through it.  Way, super cute!

We also used chipboard and colored it with Old Olive Craft Ink.  If you’d like to join me, I believe we will be trying out this chipboard in the Cards & Projects class soon!

Same Layout…2 different looks

Catherine Projects

This card was made with Party Hearty (20% off this month!)…bashful blue, so saffron, rose red. old olive.  Adorable!

Same layout…now using Hawiaan Papaya DSP, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip.

The Pumpkin card was one of the cards from my October Cards and Projects club…you should join us!

Photo Frame

Catherine Projects

I bought this frame (well, I bought 40 of them…how could I not at a clearance price of $4!?) quite a while ago.  I finally decided this weekend that I needed a bit of ME stamping time, so I got out my DSP, my chipboard, my felt flowers and my rub-ons.  My 3 daughters and their cousin with the bathing suit that MATCHES the DSP!  Can you stand it!?

I didn’t stop there…

I’ve been wanting to hang this photo of my girls in my mom’s tub in my bathroom for…a long time….

This is so much better than a plain, boring frame.  DSP, a bit of taffetta and some pieces from the Pretties kit, and yes, more rub-ons!  It matches my bathroom perfectly!

Even more…
