Ramblin’ Rose Triathlon, Chapel Hill

Catherine Projects

Some of you that have been hangin’ around with me have heard me freaking out for about the past 9 months because I signed up for the Ramblin’ Rose Triathlon.  Triathlon?  Are you kidding me?  I could barely run then.

But, I swam, I biked, and I ran…and on Sunday, I joined my 2 sister-in-laws for the Tri.   I felt pretty good starting out.  I was in line waiting to get in the pool for the swim, and there was my family huddled at the window outside the pool waving like crazy at me.  I have the best husband around.  It was cold.  It was early.  And it was his birthday!  My girls even made a sign to cheer me on.

The swim went well, the bike was a bit hard and the run was a challenge…I was pretty tired by then.  But I just kept going and I made it!

When I finished, I had a few tears because…wow…I finished!  I did a triathlon!  I felt pretty good!  And now my 9 year old daughter wants to do it with me next year.  How cool will that be??!!

Cute Mark

Catherine Projects

We made this bookmark at Convention using a few of my new favorite things.

First, the Pacific Point striped grosgrain ribbon.  I wasn’t sure about this color, but it so rich and wonderful I am really enjoying playing with it!

Next, we threaded the end of the ribbon through one of the new Filigree brads.  These brads are little flowers with a center that you put a brad through to secure it.  SU was clever and put the ribbon through it.  Way, super cute!

We also used chipboard and colored it with Old Olive Craft Ink.  If you’d like to join me, I believe we will be trying out this chipboard in the Cards & Projects class soon!

Same Layout…2 different looks

Catherine Projects

This card was made with Party Hearty (20% off this month!)…bashful blue, so saffron, rose red. old olive.  Adorable!

Same layout…now using Hawiaan Papaya DSP, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip.

The Pumpkin card was one of the cards from my October Cards and Projects club…you should join us!

Photo Frame

Catherine Projects

I bought this frame (well, I bought 40 of them…how could I not at a clearance price of $4!?) quite a while ago.  I finally decided this weekend that I needed a bit of ME stamping time, so I got out my DSP, my chipboard, my felt flowers and my rub-ons.  My 3 daughters and their cousin with the bathing suit that MATCHES the DSP!  Can you stand it!?

I didn’t stop there…

I’ve been wanting to hang this photo of my girls in my mom’s tub in my bathroom for…a long time….

This is so much better than a plain, boring frame.  DSP, a bit of taffetta and some pieces from the Pretties kit, and yes, more rub-ons!  It matches my bathroom perfectly!

This project sits on my counter in the kitchen.  It was a make and take from Leadership back in January.  Finally I choose to share it with you!

Basically, it’s a scrapbook page mounted on a piece of our On Board chipboard.

My friend, Merri, took this photo of us.  SU had contacted me telling me they needed a family photo ASAP for an article they were doing on me.  Each year, they highlight the members of the Advisory Board in their magazine and it was my turn!

It’s tough to get a family photo, I’m sure you know!  So we were headed out for a Christmas party and we handed Merri the camera.  I thought it turned out great except we couldn’t get that middle child, Alana, to smile!  Rascal!

Bella Rose…and freebie

Catherine Projects

I love the new Bella Rose DSP.  It’s girly and romantic and has a bit of a vintage look to it.

Here I used 2 coordinating patterns from Bella Rose, then stamped Dreams du Jour for a tag.

A simple make and take using the same supplies.  Card base is Riding Hood Red.

My friend Allyson made this for me.  Use a chipboard coaster, cover it with DSP and add the clip embellished with DSP.

Here’s the back.

I just love using the same supplies and making a bunch of different projects with it.  Now I need to make a scrapbook page with these goodies!

You can get this stamp set for free in October or November by having a workshop with me!

Scary Basket

Catherine Projects

Here is another Big Shot project.  At first I wasn’t crazy about this basket.  But of course, the more I have used it the more I like it!  I think this is one I will use over and over again.  AND on the same die, there is a tag and several flowers.  Cute, cute and so fun! I used the fun Ghostly Greetings DSP and Batty For You (can’t get enough of that!) and tied the tag on with Kiwi Kiss striped grosgrain. So Scary! In September Cards & Projects class, we used this die to cut out some tags and some of the gals punched out the tag from chipboard and then glued their tag to the chipboard tag.  Lovin’ it!

Upsy Daisy

Catherine Projects

This was another demonstration from Convention using the stamp set called Upsy Daisy.  You can get it for 15% off only through Sept. 30 and pay only $16.11!  So e-mail me right away to order, or use the online ordering from my Stampin’ Up website!

How do you do this?  Take your sponge daubers, dip them into different colors of ink and pounce on your stamp!  Stampin’ Up inks dry fast, so you might have to huff on it before stamping to re-moisten the ink.  Simply beautiful!

Silver Salutations

Catherine Projects

I just added this card to my gallery…my friend and downline, Tracey Renaud Fitzgerald who is a Stampin’ QUEEN made it! You know she’s had her stampin’ work published in a magazine!!  We gotta get her to do her own blog!

She used an empty jumbo ink cartridge, filled it with Versamark ink, then wheeled the Beautiful wheel on white cardstock.  Then she poured Silver Embossing Powder on it and heated.  Together with the black and red and this card gets a huge wow!

What do you think about adapting this to a wedding invitation?  Fabulous!
