I love the blues and browns in this one. We used Parisian Breeze DSP on a Kraft cardstock base and Baja Breeze ribbon. We used the Watercolor Crayons with the aquapainters on Watercolor paper. This gives you that wonderful watercolored look that I love. I used Bordering Blue to make the shadows.
My friend, Kecia and I watercolored this last week…we had such a blast, taking our time and enjoying the art. How fun! And how lucky was I to get a “private lesson” from the art teacher at our elementary school! (Kecia=art teacher!)
How much do I love that Summer Sun corduroy button!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't forget to sign up for my newsletter in the box to the left!
I got down and dirty and straight up CRAFTY last weekend! Look what I made! It's basically a scrapbook page on a canvas. I love how it turned out and I can't wait to send it to my mom for Mother's Day (close your eyes, mom!). If you love it too, go to my events page and register for the class coming up on the 29th and 30th of this month.
I used Parisian Breeze Designer Series Paper, Baja Breeze Ribbon, Flower Fusion Too, Rhinestone Brads, Corduroy Buttons, chipboard, Define Your Life and Defining Alphabet stamp sets.
I made a quick trip into school today to deliver these sweet little bunny baskets to the teachers. How cute are they? We also made them in club this month.
I've seen different variations of the bunny and I modified from a few different ones I saw. We used the Top Note, Oval Punches, 1/2 and 1/4″ circle punches, Fine Cosmo Glitter on the carrots (notice the upside down Trendy Trees, thanks Kimberly for the idea!), and the Heart to Heart punch. I just noticed that you can't see the actual box! It's made from the scallop envelope die for the Big Shot. Cut out 4 of them and glue together all around, fold in the bottom and you got a box!
I'm lovin' today! It's Thursday, but it feels like a Friday…and tomorrow IS Friday! My favorite day of the week! I just get happy on Fridays. And I'm still happy even though I hear the screamin' 6 year old downstairs. She's hungry (which makes her very cranky), but won't eat the yogurt she opened. She aint gettin' anything else til that yogurt is GONE! Luckily I bought some Margarita mixer today at the grocery! LOL!
I wanted to share with you some of the make and takes from my downline gathering last month.
Kim Allen designed this one using the great new set Thoughts and Prayers, Top Note die, Texture Plates and Lots of Tags die.
Nerissa Behrmann designed this one and used Bird on a Branch. I'll be honest with you…when I read the name of this set, I laughed out loud. Bird on a Branch? That just sounds so funny to me…is it just me?
For my big downline meeting way back in January where we celebrated them reaching 1 million dollars in sales (how awesome is that!? Imagine 1 million dollars worth of Stampin' Up goodies!), I made tent cards and wrote a note to my downline inside. I had some left over after the event and they were so cute, so I cut half of the top note off and attached them to full cards!
The Top Note is wheeled with the Kindness Wheel, then I stamped a few of the images from Sweet Celebrations on white and Pink Pirhouette. Then went to town with my scallop circle, 1 3/4″, 1 1/4″ and 1″ circle punches. I used a little bit of Stampin' Up's Candy Lane Designer Series Paper along the bottom with the scallop border punch.
For this one, I simply ran white cardstock through the Big Shot with the new Texture Plates! LOVE them! If you want to try them out, come to one of my upcoming events.
If you would like to see more samples with the Sweet Celebrations stamp set, visit the gallery.
If you are interested in becoming a demo, now is the time! Your $199 cost for the start up kit can be split up over 3 months. Our group is made up of hobby demos that enjoy getting a discount on their stamps, to gals doing a few events here and there to make a bit of extra money, to gals that work this as a business. Everyone is welcome, so please contact me with questions!
This card makes me HAPPY! I normally would not pair these colors together…Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss, but I think they are the BOMB on this card!
I used this card for a downline event and for club last month.
We stamped the cupcake top from Big Bold Birthday in versamark, poured on Heat and Stick powder, heated, then poured on Chocolate Glitter or Orange Glitter. YUMMY! Since the Heat and Stick turns clear and sticky, the glitter sticks to it!
Of course we used the Polka Dot Texture Plates, the Circle Scissors, Go Go Boots Alphabet (Big Shot) and my favorite corduroy buttons!
I'm still dreaming of Hawaii…how long is that going to last and when will I return to reality? I wanted to share a few photos of our last evening there. Stampin' Up threw us a big ole Luau. It was AMAZING! The food was incredible, and the atmosphere just about took me over the top! When we walked in there were the sweetest little girls waiting with Leis to greet us. Here I am getting mine, how cute is that?
We spent a while walking around mingling…here I am with a fellow North Carolinian Incentive Trip Earner, Martha Armstrong. We met a few years ago when we were on our way to the Panama Canal (another one thanks to SU!) and our luggage was lost…a quick $300 trip to Target before getting on that boat and we became fast friends!
While moseyin' around (how the heck do ya spell that!?) we took in the craft booths. They had Hawaiian artists making leis, weaving baskets, carving wood, and more. That was way cool.
Those little cuties were great dancers.
Me and my honey. This dress…are you kidding me? I took one look at it and Charlotte Russe became my best friend. I thought it was perfect! Now I gotta figure where else I can wear it….
Lastly, I must leave you with some stamping projects! Here are a couple that were on display in the hospitality suite.
And this one uses Just Beachy, the brand new super fun set from the Stampin' Up Spring Occasions Mini Catalog. Yup…this one is a Catherine Original. I was inspired before leaving on the trip and made it right before leaving.
Ok…I'm about off to bed…I'm going to be sad though, because I drank my last bit of Kona coffee this morning. Have you ever had Kona Coffee? OH MY WORD. It's delish.
I was telling a friend that I didn't drink any coffee in the room, and when I was packing up, I threw all the packets into my suitcase and cursed myself for not doing that every day. She asked me why I didn't just buy a bag. Uh, HELLO! A bag of Kona Coffee costs $20. That's TWO packages of Corduroy Buttons! Geez, does she think I'm crazy? hehehe…
I'm almost recovered…it took us from Friday night at 9 pm (3 am EST) to 8:30 (EST) Sunday night to arrive home…3 flights, one cancelled flight, a taxi ride, and an 11 hour ride with 3 fiesty kiddos…whew! I'm glad to be home, but already looking forward to the next trip!
I was really beat yesterday, but everyone says, DON'T TAKE A NAP! So I abided by that and went to bed at 8:30 last night….I stayed in bed until 9:30! Wow! I think I'm recovered now, 4 loads of laundry are clean but not folded and the bags are even unpacked. I even had one of my new downline over to stamp with me today. Boy am I lucky, she is the art teacher at our school! I will share with you the card we made in a few days…but first I wanted to share a few more photos from our trip.
Here is one of the samples that was in the Hospitality Suite on the Hawaii trip. It uses Wagon Full of Fun which is a brand new set from the Occasions Mini catalog. Download here.
I love this one using the flower die for the Big Shot and my favorite, Corduroy Buttons!
The goal of my final day was to swim with the turtles. I ventured out early when it was still a bit cool, strapped on all my snorkel gear and SUCCEEDED! How stinkin' cool is this?! There is a little lagoon and waterfall area right at the Hilton Waikola and the turtles and tons of other sea life hang out there. I'm not actually in this photo, but I was this close swimming around with these terrific creatures.
Chillin' with Advisory Board Buddies from last year, Lynsay Mahon and Cheryl Flynn. What a great day we had!
Greetings from the Big Island of Hawaii! We arrived here on Sunday and were welcomed by Stampin' Up at a reception by the pool. Awesome food and great times with friends was a great way to begin our trip!
We have done a circle tour around the island to see waterfalls, lava tubes, a volcano, black sand beaches, and turtles. I was surprised to see the different terrain across the island.
We spent most of the day at Hapuna Bay yesterday and enjoyed some of the best snorkeling we've ever experienced. While swimming, I just kept thinking, “wow, I'm snorkeling in Hawaii!”.
Some photos to leave you with (and don't forget my 15% off OR Free shipping ends on the 30th! details here).
With last year's Advisory Board Buddies, Leasa Williams, Tami White, Cheryl Flynn, and SU President, Dale Filmore at the welcome reception.
With friends, Kimberly VanDiepen and Jen Jacobsen at Rainbow Falls.
My downline (Kim Allen) and I spinning the wheel for free Stampin' Up product.
My club members are able to choose each month if they would like to do Cards & Projects OR a scrapbook page. Here is this month's scrapbook page. I haven't put photos on it yet, but I'll be ready as soon as I get some spring photos.
That's one of the great things about my job…I get my own scrapbook pages done and it's called WORKING! That makes me feel like cackling! lol!
The facing page is a bit plain now, but will look great with photos of my little cuties, huh!?
I don't think I ever told y'all that I had a minor surgery a few weeks back (just a hernia and a little bladder repair surgery), and my friend and downline, Cam made this Get Well card for me using Petal Pizazz. She stamped the flowers on glossy cardstock and added them to a strip of Stampin' Up's Pink Flamingo Designer Series paper on a Kiwi Kiss cardstock base.
She also made this WOW card which won the WOW card contest! She used the level 3 hostess set, Dream A Little.
My newest club is my Scrappers' Express club. In 6 months, you'll make 36 -12 x 12 pages using coordinating cardstock and accessories. The layouts and kits are fairly versatile and can be used for girls, boys and many general occasions.
I just met with my club ladies and they had a great time putting these pages together. In just about 2 hours, they made 6 pages (and some of them made 8 – 12 pages!)…how SWEET is that!!???
Here is a page from March's kit, UR Sweet. Next month we'll use Best Ever…email me for more details and to join! Want to try it out for one month? Visit my event's page and register now!
Stay tuned to my blog…I will be announcing a SWEET special for you…we leave tomorrow night to drive the kiddos to my mom's in Rochester, NY, then we fly out early Friday morning for the Stampin' Up incentive trip to HAWAII! I can't believe we are going on this dream vacation, and for free to boot! So I believe that calls for celebration and a special for you!
Can you believe we spent hours yesterday at the Minute Clinic getting diagnosed with strep throat! Just 54 hours before leaving to drive the kiddos to Canadaguia, NY to my mother's house. They will be staying with her (THANKS MOM!!!) so we can go on the Stampin' Up Incentive trip to HAWAII! I can hardly believe that in just a couple days we will be there. Mai Tai here I come!
Luckily we have something called antibiotics, and we are feeling much better today!
Watch my website, and your inbox if you are on my newsletter (if you're not, go ahead and sign up for it!). I will have a special for you to take advantage of while I'm gone as a thank you for your business!
