Last week I posted a KISS Card video which showed how to make 4 cards quickly using the same supplies and a fun trick for getting more mileage out of your photopolymer stamps. If you missed that tutorial, view it here.
In that video, I went pretty quickly through stamping the flowers. So in today's video, I wanted to show you more closely how I did it, I'll show you how to use the Wink of Stella pen and how to fill in a boo-boo when you stamp!
Stampin’ Up supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso
Accessories: Linen Thread, Designer Series Paper (Retired, lots of different patterns would work here, check your stash!)

I have been in Greensboro all weekend with my oldest daughter, Anna. We've been at a Ranger Inks & Mixed Media Art class with Wendy Vecchi at Betty's Creative Studio. Can you say AWESOME!
When I saw this class offering I jumped on it…as long as I've been a paper crafter, there is always room for learning and growing in this craft. I ALWAYS want to grow and get better.
Here is a peek at the covers of the journals that some of the class attendees made. (Anna's is in the bottom right hand corner with the bird and blue flowers. Mine is in the middle on the left.) Can you believe we all had the same products to work with and come up with such different finished products!? WOW!
Below is Anna working on the first journal page.
Want to see more? Be sure to follow me on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM. I have photos from the weekend and will be posting more.
Many of you have asked me…YES! I will be making videos on stuff I learned at this class….they will be on Youtube and on StampNation.
Speaking of StampNation and LEARNING…our goal at SN is to help our Sistahs become better paper crafters. Our newest feature begins on Monday!
Virginia will be starting her brand new “Virginia's Stamp Clinic” and it's going to be amazing! This is what she says about it:
“I am excited about this upcoming feature starting on the 14th. I am sharing a sneak peek first. What do we do in this “Stamping Clinic” exactly? I will be showing an example of a card and then we are going to discuss as to how to make a “Constructive Makeover”. Then I will reveal to you the final “makeover”! I hope you will check it out!”
Have you ever made a card that just didn't seem quite right? I know I sure have! Virginia is a genius at figuring out just what a card needs to take it from nice to freaking amazing! and she is getting ready to share that knowledge and insight with us.
While I was making the card for my next newsletter using the amazing Flower Patch Stamp Set by Stampin' Up, I ended up with too many stamped, punched and layered flowers.
So what's a girl to do but make another card?
Does this count as a One Layer Card? There's only one layer…yes, that's true…but there's a LAYERED flower on top. Maureen??? What do you think? Does this count?
In any case, the card was quick to make and easy to do and is adorable, right? Be sure you are subscribed to my newsletter so you can see the other card I made. Here's a peek at it:
More flowers, more layering, more stamping and a cool background.

Tomorrow, I am traveling to Greensboro for a THREE DAY class with the amazing Wendy Vecchi! omg! pinch me…I'm going to be learning loads of really cool stuff to share with you over the next few months. Be sure you are on Facebook with me, I'll be sharing fun stuff from the weekend and updating regularly.
Before I go, make sure you check back tomorrow…I have an announcement and a video with my sidekick, Eva!
If you are subscribed to my Youtube channel, you'll get an email as soon as I make that video public.
Phew…that was a lot! Now I'm off to drop kids off at swimming and dancing and make dinner and all that good stuff….have a great day!
The Design Team has been working hard behind the scenes at something special for members coming very soon…stay tuned for details. SN Sistahs, you'll be the first to know!
Look at what one of our Sistahs has to say about StampNation: “There are so many incredible tutorials here and samples that it would be hard not to grow as a paper crafter. The support and encouragement that I have received here has helped give me the confidence to start a blog and enter all kinds of challenges (and win some too). It's because of this site that I am doing my very first guest designer spot – (which goes live tomorrow) I'm not afraid to try anything now – I don't have a comfort zone anymore – I've learned to embrace all styles of card making!” Susan
Susan, we are happy to have you with us and love every bit of YOU that you share with us!
I have been a long time fan of Gayatri – she is an exceptional artist! She joined us at StampNation recently and when she entered her first challenge (#134: Graphic and Geometric), I couldn't help but ask her if she minded if I shared her card on my blog. She said YES! Thank you, Gayatri!
Her card is right on trend with origami shapes, a clean design and bright fun colors. Visit Gayatri's blog here – grab a glass of tea first, you'll be there a while!
Gayatri, we are thrilled to have you as an SN member and look forward to basking in the glory of many-o-creations from you! 🙂
We had a ton of entries for our Graphic and Geometric challenge and many of them were posted in the gallery for ease of viewing. Above is a peek at the gallery. More than 24,000 samples are in our online paper crafting gallery waiting to inspire you.
“The inspiration is amazing. Only being a card maker for about 1 1/2 yrs, I've learned SO much here and with the loving support of my sistahs, I've gained confidence in my work. I would have never come this far, had it not been for SN. I love the the unity of my extended family, and that, to me, makes my life so much richer.”
We hope to see you there soon!
If you are in the US, the Poolers wish you a very safe and happy 4th of July!
Here are a few words from Virginia: “I am so happy and honored to be part of the StamNation DT. The reason that prompted me to be part of it is that there is no place like StampNation. It is such a happy, fun and encouraging place for stampers. Being part of this “Stamping family” is a dream come true.
I can’t wait to share my love and passion of stamping with you. I hope that we all learn a few new things along this creative journey. I consider myself as a stamper of all styles. I simply love to create and I often rely on the stamps and see where they will take me…! I am looking forward to sharing ideas in my regular feature “Virginia’s Stamp Clinic”. Let the fun begin!!”
Be sure to hop over to Virginia's blog to welcome her – she might just have a somethin' somethin' over there for you 😉
If you aren't on my newsletter yet, be sure to subscribe…we have an exclusive project ready to share compliments of Virginia! You will love it!
Enter your deets in the box at the top of the sidebar and I will see you on the other side!
Is it really the end of June already? We've had lots of things going on with the kids and family that have limited my “work” time…if you've known me for more than 5 minutes, you know that I looove what I do and barely consider it work 😉
Even when we are really busy with family stuff or I'm vacationing I still create content to share on my blog, Youtube and StampNation – which takes hours of behind the scenes preparation. That can make the weeks leading up to a vacation a bit hectic!
This week, we have family coming in and plan to do a lot of fun stuff with the kids. I've debated on whether or not to truly take a “vacation”.
The verdict? Yes. I am going to take a vacation! I've been blogging for 7 years now and I've never gone a week and usually not even a few days, without putting up a new blog post.
I've made the crazy decision to not add any new content here this week, but I will have several things going on, so definitely check back in with me!
I actually have quite a few things up my sleeve for July and August and I can't wait to share them with you (one of them will be announced tomorrow).
Be sure to find and Like my Facebook page, I post there frequently and will be throughout the week. We just hit 10K subscribers there, I can't believe it!
I had SO. MUCH. FUUUN. making this card. To say I'm obsessed with Distress Inks and water would be an understatement! The full video tutorial on how I made this card and the thought process is now on StampNation. You can find it here.
I made this card for Challenge #135 at SN…this week it is a sketch and each DT member had such a different take on the sketch. So fun to see that!
