Flower Patch stamp set One Layer card (or is it?)

Catherine Floral, Gallery, Projects, Videos

While I was making the card for my next newsletter using the amazing Flower Patch Stamp Set by Stampin' Up, I ended up with too many stamped, punched and layered flowers.

So what's a girl to do but make another card?

Does this count as a One Layer Card?  There's only one layer…yes, that's true…but there's a LAYERED flower on top.  Maureen???  What do you think?  Does this count?

In any case, the card was quick to make and easy to do and is adorable, right?  Be sure you are subscribed to my newsletter so you can see the other card I made.  Here's a peek at it:

The Design Team has been working hard behind the scenes at something special for members coming very soon…stay tuned for details.  SN Sistahs, you'll be the first to know!

Look at what one of our Sistahs has to say about StampNation:  “There are so many incredible tutorials here and samples that it would be hard not to grow as a paper crafter. The support and encouragement that I have received here has helped give me the confidence to start a blog and enter all kinds of challenges (and win some too). It's because of this site that I am doing my very first guest designer spot – (which goes live tomorrow) I'm not afraid to try anything now – I don't have a comfort zone anymore – I've learned to embrace all styles of card making!”  Susan

Susan, we are happy to have you with us and love every bit of YOU that you share with us!

Thank you card

I have been a long time fan of Gayatri – she is an exceptional artist!  She joined us at StampNation recently and when she entered her first challenge (#134: Graphic and Geometric), I couldn't help but ask her if she minded if I shared her card on my blog.  She said YES!  Thank you, Gayatri!

Her card is right on trend with origami shapes, a clean design and bright fun colors.  Visit Gayatri's blog here – grab a glass of tea first, you'll be there a while!

Gayatri, we are thrilled to have you as an SN member and look forward to basking in the glory of many-o-creations from you! 🙂

Look at what Debbie says about being a member:

“The inspiration is amazing. Only being a card maker for about 1 1/2 yrs, I've learned SO much here and with the loving support of my sistahs, I've gained confidence in my work. I would have never come this far, had it not been for SN. I love the the unity of my extended family, and that, to me, makes my life so much richer.”

We hope to see you there soon!

Virginia joins our DT!

Virginia Lu

I met a new online crafting friend, Virginia, from Yes, Virginia a few months ago and we've become fast friends!

We were so lucky to have her join us at StampNation and she has completely WOW'd the members with her amazing talent and gift of teaching.

She  joined us in May as a guest designer and when we asked her to join the Dream Team, she said yes!  Lucky us!

Not only is she going to design for our weekly challenges, but she is also going to host her own stamp clinic…more details coming on that.

With all the incredible things going on at StampNation, you are definitely going to want to become a member!

Here are a few words from Virginia:   “I am so happy and honored to be part of the StamNation DT.  The reason that prompted me to be part of it is that there is no place like StampNation. It is such a happy, fun and encouraging place for stampers. Being part of this “Stamping family” is a dream come true.

I can’t wait to share my love and passion of stamping with you. I hope that we all learn a few new things along this creative journey. I consider myself as a stamper of all styles. I simply love to create and I often rely on the stamps and see where they will take me…! I am looking forward to sharing ideas in my regular feature “Virginia’s Stamp Clinic”. Let the fun begin!!”

Garden NotessmallBe sure to hop over to Virginia's blog to welcome her – she might just have a somethin' somethin' over there for you 😉

If you aren't on my newsletter yet, be sure to subscribe…we have an exclusive project ready to share compliments of Virginia!  You will love it!

Enter your deets in the box at the top of the sidebar and I will see you on the other side!

A note from CP

Catherine Projects

Is it really the end of June already? We've had lots of things going on with the kids and family that have limited my “work” time…if you've known me for more than 5 minutes, you know that I looove what I do and barely consider it work 😉

Even when we are really busy with family stuff or I'm vacationing I still create content to share on my blog, Youtube and StampNation – which takes hours of behind the scenes preparation.  That can make the weeks leading up to a vacation a bit hectic!

This week, we have family coming in and plan to do a lot of fun stuff with the kids.  I've debated on whether or not to truly take a “vacation”.

The verdict?  Yes.  I am going to take a vacation!  I've been blogging for 7 years now and I've never gone a week and usually not even a few days, without putting up a new blog post.

I've made the crazy decision to not add any new content here this week, but I will have several things going on, so definitely check back in with  me!

I actually have quite a few things up my sleeve for July and August and I can't wait to share them with you (one of them will be announced tomorrow).

Be sure to find and Like my Facebook page, I post there frequently and will be throughout the week.  We just hit 10K subscribers there, I can't believe it!

Have a wonderful day!

Stars in a line – Card Making Video Tutorial

Catherine Gallery, Projects, Videos

altenew stars2

A few months ago as I was perusing Facebook, I saw the news that a brand new stamping company was taking the world by storm!   and it was called what????

Altenew!

Pretty cool name by a couple of pretty cool chicks…Tasnim Ahmed and Jennifer Rzasa who are very well known and well respected paper crafters in the internet world.

I have watched their new little company grow and blossom as they sell out of their stock, restock and sell out again.  It's amazing and I send giant congratulations their way!

Their designs are fresh, fun and really unique.  Be sure to check them out and tell them I sent ya!

The best news I have for you today is that Altenew is sponsoring the Dream Team at StampNation this week and the entire DT is showcasing their super cool stamps and one lucky SN member will win her choice of TWO Altenew stamp sets!  Pretty darned cool, eh?

I got my hot little hands on a couple of these sets and here is the first video of several that I've done:

oh my goodness!  I am LOVIN' this color palette, my friends!

altenew stars

Here's a little peek at the Dream Team samples up on StampNation TODAY for our challenge based on Altenew's fresh fun designs.

NOTE:  You do NOT have to use an Altenew stamp set to participate in the SN Challenge…but you just might WIN two if you do!  🙂  Awesome, right?

We are one big, happy family at StampNation focuse on having fun and growing as paper crafters.

Here is what Lynn says about it:  “I have grown as a paper crafter since joining SN. The biggest way is realizing I don't have to have the exact stamps or by the company that some one used in a tutorial, I can usually find something in my stash of stamps. Which to me is quite a big deal as almost 2 years ago, I could not have done that.”

We hope to see YOU as our next Sistah!

Supplies:

  • Faux Veneer Stamp Set  (EH)
  • Cardstock:  Coastal Cabana, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White (SU)
  • Ink:   Coastal Cabana, Summer Starfruit, Tangerine Tango
  • Accessories:  Word Bubble Framelits, 3/4″ Circle Punch, Rhinestones (all SU), Stitched Rectangles Die (Lil' Inker Designs)
