Our StampNation website has a PenPal Swap every month. It's a great way to connect with other crafters from across the country, and even across the globe!
Each month participants are given a challenge to create a card, then mail the card to a SN friend! The month of January was a gorgeous winter inspiration with a fun color pallete, so I pulled together these rich inks and got creating! You can see how I created them in this Facebook Live Stream Replay.
My initial plan was to clear emboss the Parisian Portico stamp over a beautifully blended background. In my haste, my first technique piece wasn't quite dry enough when I went to emboss it, so I put that piece to the side.
With my second background clear embossed, I was ready to add a few stamped and die cut images. Some simple coloring with my CP inks and voila! I cut out a little heart and did some stamp masking to place my sentiment just right.
With the first background now dry- I could see it had a beautiful tone on tone design from the embossing ink. I also had the remnants of my heart cut out. Nothing to waste in the craft room!
I got to work piecing together a second card. Erika was inspired to direct to paper some Tranquil Ink and then emboss that in Halo Embossing Glitter. She cut out the Ooh Lala Word die to add to the card as a focal point. I love how the little coffee cut just brought it all together. It's so much fun when you get a two for one!!
