More Ways to Use Cover Plates

Cover Plates can be staple products in your crafting arsenal. In this video, I shared a bunch of great ways to use them. Don't let the ideas stop there!

Let's talk about he reverse inlay technique. With this idea, you use all the negative pieces of the die cut on your card base instead of the die itself.

I love this one from Kristie using the Lava Lamp Cover Plate. She created a beautiful watercolor piece with ink, cut out the cover plate and then adhered just the inside pieces back down with foam tape. It creates the pattern into the negative space on the card base which has a real wow factor!

How about using the negative pieces from your die cut cover plate to make a new design! The shapes that you get from the “off-cuts” can be wonderful and we often end up with lots of them floating around.

I grabbed some from the Lava Lamp Cover Plate off of the craft desk and inked them up- direct to paper, and then glued them in this pattern to my card for a great twist on the original pattern!

I got this idea from Kristie…she did a tone on tone (which you all know I LOVE) and I went with ink blending for a pop of color on my card.
