Easy Watercolor Backgrounds for Holiday Cards

Ilina Crouse created this striking Cranberry Fizz Ombre Watercolor Background, embossed the tree from Caroling Sentiments in White and inspired my video today!

Do you have a favorite color ombre background? Leave a comment, I’d love to hear about it!

The Deck the Halls watercolor background is finished off with a simple Wreath and Joy word die that was dressed up with embossing.

The Wreath was embossed with Deck the Halls Embossing Glitter along with the strip along the side. The Joy Word Die was embossed with Oyster Glintz Embossing Powder.

The pink ombre watercolor background was a no brainer for me! I added the Peace & Joy word die first, then the snowflake dies. To finish this card off, I popped a Nuvo Drop in the center of each snowflake.

Catherine Pooler Inks are water based, so any time you add water, the ink will react with the water. Once the background was dry, I accidentally laid a wet paper towel on the background and it left a water spot.

I decided to go with it and spritz water on the background to create a bunch of droplets. I used this as a night sky and added the snowbanks and houses.

I hope you enjoyed this video and are inspired by these cards today! All products are linked below.
