Lisa Harrolle Ice Cream Cards

Erika General

Hi friends, Lisa here!  I’m just popping in to say hello!   Catherine invited me over and I brought some cool treats share with you.  A couple of yummy cards featuring the Ice Scream You Scream stamp set, colored with some bright “sherbet” colors that are sure to cool you off on this hot summer’s day.

Stamps:  I Scream You Scream, Fluttering Friends
Ink:  Garden Party, Coral Cabana, Samba, Melon Ice, Tiki Torch, Limoncello, Midnight, Sand Castle, Clear embossing (Versamark)
Paper:  Premium White Cardstock, 140 lb watercolor (Canson)
Accessories:  Hello Mini Cover Plate Die, Right Angle Cover Plate Die, I Scream You Scream Dies, Charleston Sequin Mix.  White embossing powder (WOW!), natural twine.

Start with an A2 size top folded card base: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″,  one 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ white card front and one watercolor card front at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

Using the watercolor card front, a brush and water, paint on the following colors diagonally starting in the bottom left corner:  Coral Cabana, Tiki Torch, Limoncello, Garden Party.  Set aside to dry.

From the white card front panel, diecut both of the dies in the Hello Mini Cover Plate die set.  Set aside the letters for use on another project.

Ink blend the solid rectangle diecut working from the bottom up using:  Samba, Coral Cabana, Tiki Torch and Limoncello.  After it dries, glue the white diecut Hello rectangle onto the blended rectangle at an angle.

Diecut The Right Angle Cover Plate die from the watercolored panel, then glue that onto the folded card base.  Then glue the hello rectangles onto the center of the card  base, over the watercolored diecut.

Stamp 6 frozen treats from the I Scream You Scream stamp set in Midnight ink onto Premium White Cardstock.  Using a blender pen and the ink colors listed in the supply list, color the images.  Then diecut them with coordinating dies.   Diecut an extra blank set from white cardstock.

Wrap twine around the top front of the card and tie a bow in the top left corner.  Add glue to the blank diecut pieces and slip them into place, under a piece of twine, glue side up.  Place the colored images on top of the blank images securely.  Your images should have movement like a banner,  with the twine in between.

For a special touch to the bow, tie another short piece of twine to the center of the bow to create two more tails.  String these tails with the small blue beads included in the Charleston Sequin Mix, knotting off the end once.

Emboss the “sweet friend” sentiment from the Flutter Friends stamp set onto white cardstock with white embossing powder.  Ink blend over the top with Samba ink.  Cut into a strip and glue onto the Hello die.

For my second card I stayed with the same color palette and similar layout but made a few changes…

  • I switched this one to be a top folding A2 portrait card base.
  • I cut the large pierced edge rectangle die from the Sprinkles Mini Cover Plate Die set.  Then heat embossed it using the Mod Flowers Stencil and white embossing powder.   I made a few swipes with the Versamark embossing ink across the card, then heat embossed in white again. Ink blending over the top of this embossed piece using the same color palette.
  • I used the leftover Hello diecut pieces in white but glued another set blended with Melon Ice and a little glitter glue underneath, for a shadow affect.

That’s all for today friends.   If you have any questions, give me a shout out below in the comments section.
I hope you all are enjoying your summer.  Until next time….stay cool!

Lisa
