Flower Burst Cover Plate Play!

I don't know about you, but we are pretty addicted to cover plates! We just love the versatility of them and all of the fun they can bring to our card designs.

When I got home with the Floral Burst Cover Plate, I felt inspired to do some inlaid die cutting. I don't normally have the patience or attention span for this, but I turned on an episode of “This Is Us” and just went to town puzzling the pieces together.

Erika also immediately wanted to put the Flutters & Blooms paper to work with this technique and committed to filling in the whole piece with a variety of patterns!

The classic white over a blended background is also a favorite look for cover plates. This is a much faster result but makes a striking card. How about that rainbow color combo?!!

Natasha also did this technique with a more analogous color scheme and with watercoloring. I love the subtile build of color on this one. It has a different mood and the texture is amazing.

When all these techniques meet you you get a two for one out of your cover plate technique piece. Erika did a three color blended background first and then cut it out. That gave her a fun and colorful floral piece to pop over white and all the little bits to inlay into another white frame.

You'll have endless fun with the Floral Burst Cover Plate!

I love these ideas on use of cover plates. Using the printed papers inlaid was really clever. I’ll have to try it.

Great uses for the cover plates. They make for really quick cards that look like you’ve spent a lot of time creating. These samples were awesome!
