Techniques for Inlaid Die Cutting

Catherine General

I love the look of the Inlaid Die Cutting Technique, but to be honest, it scares me a little! Especially when it's done on an intricate Cover Plate Die. These cards use three different techniques for Inlaid Die Cutting on smaller images. They are more manageable than large dies and have a gorgeous effect on your hand made cards!

The two roses from the Pair of Roses Dies are perfect for Inlaid Die Cutting!

These dies are part of our Club Sursee subscription and were sent out earlier this year. If you missed them and are a subscriber, you can log into the shop and find them under “Club Sursee Exclusives”.

Sursee subscribers get a special shipment of product every single month…it's some of our favorite products! Learn more here. The next shipment goes out after April 15!

In the video I show a couple ways to adhere the die cut pieces from the Pair of Roses dies. I used It's a Girl Ink and the Direct-to-Paper Technique to color them.

The Backsplash Die is another great die for the Inlaid Die Cutting. For this technique, I embossed the pieces with Something Borrowed Embossing Glitter.

I hope you are inspired to try some Inlaid Die Cutting for your next card making project!
