Hello Beautiful with Jenny Colacicco

ErikaCP Designs

Hi Everyone! It’s Jenny here, and I’m so excited to be joining you on Catherine’s Blog!  Today I have a fun project to share that uses several of the Hello Sunshine collection of goodies.

I started off by creating my background, as it is going to need a bit of drying time. Using a panel of Premium White cardstock, I started by using my blender brushes and created an ink blended panel with Shea Butter, It’s a Girl and Sweet Sixteen. These blend beautifully together, so I made sure they overlapped in places. You can see where Shea overlaps with It’s a Girl you get a pretty peachy color, and Sweet Sixteen and It’s a Girl make a subtly darker purple.

I took my blended panel and overlaid the Catherine Pooler Designs Flourish Stencil over the top and then added some clear sparkly glitter paste over the top. I removed the stencil and set it aside to dry while I got working on my focal images.

I stamped several images from the Sunshine Flowers stamp set onto Premium White cardstock, and then colored them with Copics that co-ordinated with the inked background (I do this by holding up my backgrounds to the Copic hex chart I have to see what matches). I then die cut out the images with the co-ordinating dies.

For my sentiment, I stamped the Hello Beautiful from the Whimsical Blooms stampset in WOW! Embossing ink onto Catherine’s Midnight cardstock, and heat embossed in WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder. I then die cut it out with the smallest Fitted Frames die which is perfect for this sentiment.

I assembled all my images on the centre of the (dried) panel using foam tape and foam squares, and then mounted it onto a white notecard. As a finishing touch I added some of the new Charleston sequins, and a little bit of White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops on the flower centers and berries – because you can’t have too much glitz!
Hope this card brightens your day!
Jenny
