Hi everyone, Lisa Harrolle here. I'm so excited to be invited back to Catherine's blog to share a masculine card I made. Today I'd like to showcase the awesome Buffalo Plaid Background stamp and the Wild About You Stamp Set.
Like a lot of card makers, I find creating masculine cards to be quite a challenge. Way out of my comfort zone! So when Catherine came out with this Father's Day bundle I shied away….at first. As I started working with each individual stamp and die set I started to see the potential for some really cool cards.
My absolute favorite stamp is the Buffalo Plaid Background. It looks so awesome stamped in any color and makes a great backdrop for any card. For this card I wanted a dark background to create a whimsical nature scene.
First I created a custom piece of red cardstock by blending Catherine's beautiful new Rouge ink onto Premium White Cardstock. After it dried, I stamped the plaid using a soft Black Jack ink. Using the Wild About You stamp and coordinating die set, I cut out a moon and three little stars from the plaid background.
I heat embossed the sentiment with bright white embossing powder by WOW! I stamped and diecut the tree and wolf using Sage, Over Coffee and the wolf in twilight with some Black Jack shading.A strip of Catherine's smoke cardstock was added to the bottom.
The finished panel is attached at an angle onto Premium White Cardstock using foam tape.A little sparkle as added using the Motor City Sequin Mix.
