Holiday Card with the Merry Mini Cover Plate

The Man with the Beard Stamp is a favorite of mine! The sentiments were hand lettered to fit in between the Santa hats and beards in place of a face and has such a fun and whimsical look.

I stamped and die cut a bunch of beards and hats to have on hand. Do you do that with images like this? It's convenient for a quick embellishment for your cards.

Creating this card was pretty easy. Die cut the Merry Label Die, choose your patterned paper layer, emboss the sentiment in white on black. Use the larger die that comes with the Merry Label Dies to create a frame. You could leave this white, color it with ink pads using the direct to paper technique or emboss it for some added sparkle and shine!

When I was creating this card, first I cut the merry out of patterned paper…but then when I chose the forest pattern background paper, I wasn't sure if the Skylight pattern was the best choice. I thought Rockin' Red was a great choice to tie in the hat, but honestly, I think Skylight looks great, too! What do you think? Leave me a note and let me know!

If you're looking for more inspiration, here is another video I made using the hats and beards in a shaker card.

Thanks for visiting today, I hope you have some time to get creative!
