Hello friends, Lisa here! Catherine invited me to share a couple of cards today featuring the yummy 3 Scoops Stamp set. Let's throw chocolate and vanilla to the curb and reach into our bright colors for a fun, fruity twist on our ice cream today.
First up, I wanted to use some of that fun patterned paper from Catherine's Sum-Sum-Summertime 6″ x 6″ paper pad. Did you know that all of Catherine's paper packs coordinate with her ink colors? This pretty pink background paper is a perfect match to Be Mine.

Instructions:
- Start with a white side folding A2 size card base 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″.
- Cut a piece of patterned paper from the Sum-Sum-Summertime paper pack to slightly less than an A2 size: 4″ x 5 1/4″. Glue directly to white card base.
- Cut the largest die in the Nested Labels die set out of white cardstock. Glue to the center of the card front.
- Ice Cream Cone instructions: Stamp three ice cream scoops from the 3 Scoops stamp set onto some white cardstock using these colors: Be Mine, Tiki Torch, Melon Ice. Stamp the bottom of these images with the same color inks using the scalloped edge stamp included in the set for a tone on tone affect. Stamp the cone with Sand Castle ink. Diecut all of these images, then glue together. Add some glitter stickles along the scalloped ice scream scoop edges. Set aside to dry.
- Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment from the Zen Feather stamp set on white label, right/center in Midnight ink. On a separate piece of white cardstock, stamp the Ice Cream sentiment in Midnight ink then quickly emboss over the top with clear embossing powder to add shine. Fussy cut around the edges of the Ice Cream sentiment.
- Using dimensional tape, add the finished ice cream cone to the front of the card at a slight angle. Add the cut ice cream sentiment with dimensional tape, slightly overlapping the ice cream cone.
- For the final touch, add some Nuvo Drops.
For my second card I wanted to just have some fun stamping the 3 Scoops cone to create a one layer background. The Misti stamping tool came in handy for positioning each ice cream cone. I stamped on one side of the white panel, then turned it around to stamp the other side. I only had to reposition the stamps three times and it helped to control the spacing between the stamped images.
Instructions:
- Start with a white side folding A2 size card base 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″.
- Background: On a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ piece of white cardstock, stamp your ice cream images using an assortment of ink colors. Use the same colors to stamp the heart shaped sprinkles and scalloped edges on the top scoop for a tone on tone affect. Trim this finished stamped background to slightly smaller than A2 size 4″ x 5 1/4″. Glue to the card front leaving a slight edge all the way around.
- On a piece of white cardstock, stamp the sentiment in midnight ink.
- Die cut the sentiment using the second to smallest Nested Label die. Add dimensional tape to the back of the label, being sure to leave the paper on the exposed side until it's time to adhere it to the card.
- Using a hole punch, punch out a hole on each end of the sentiment label. On the left folded edge of the card base, punch out a half circle. Punch out a half circle on the right edge (front of the card only), being sure that it is lined up even with the hole in the folded edge.
- Cut three pieces of twine: One 20″ and two 6″. Thread one end of the 20″ twine thru the left whole of the sentiment label. Pull it thru until the 20″ twine is even and folded in half. Thread both ends of the 20″ twine thru the hole on the folded side of the card base. Pull the twine thru the inside of the card and around to the front. Position the sentiment label where you want it (lined up with both holes in the card base) then take the paper off the tape and adhere it in place. Thread one end of the 20″ twine thru the hole in the label. Tie a bow using both ends of the 20″ twine. Twine should sit securely into the half punched hole on the right side of the card. To add more tails to your bow, simply tie each of the 6″ pieces of twine around the center knot of the bow. Trim ends to desired length.
- Glue on some sequins from the Charleston Sequin Mix to add some shine.
Thanks so much for stopping by today, it's been fun! If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment below. All of the stamps, dies and inks that I used on these cards are available in the Catherine Pooler Design store.
Until next time……have a beautiful day and happy stamping!!
