Using Die Cuts to Create a Textured Background with Kristie

CatherineCP Designs, CPD Ink, Die Cutting, Summer

Hi everyone!  It's Kristie here with a guest post just for you!  I created a fun background on my card today using dies to create texture.  The sentiment piece was created using re-inkers and water.

I started by die cutting a bunch of the flip flop dies from white card stock.  I then adhered them onto my card panel.  This took a bit of time, but it is so worth the effort.

I then cut a piece of water color card stock, spritzed it with water and used re-inkers to drop color onto the piece.  I was holding the card stock piece at an angle so the color would drip down from the top.  After I had added all my colors, I spritzed again with water to help move the color around a bit more and then let it dry.

After the panel was dry I used the Fitted Frames Die to cut it out and stamped my sentiment using Midnight ink.  I adhered the sentiment piece over the background I created and added it to a midnight card base.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed my project!
