Hello Everyone! It is Tracie and I am happy to be here today sharing a fun layered card using product from the All That Jazz release.
I may have mentioned before that I do not sketch my cards prior to creating them or have an exact design in mind. I am inspired by each step along the creative journey. This card journey started by creating several heat embossed background panels using the Doin' the Polka Background Stamp. The flowers are amazing in the Grateful Heart stamp set, so I colored a few of the flowers and leaves with Copics. Then I die-cut them with the coordinating dies. These dies are super easy to line up.
You will notice a couple of fun and colorful layers with a vellum layer in-between. The colored layers were created by applying Catherine Pooler Inks directly to cardstock. I used Bellini (Party Collection) and Polished (Spa Collection). Yes, the Party and the Spa Collections play well together. And look how smooth the ink coverage is. What a great way to get coordinating cardstock!
The vellum is new to the store. It is thick and nice to work with. I die-cut the vellum using the scalloped frame from the Tags, Etc. Dies set (Counting Blessings Collection). The scalloped frame had to be down-sized a little, so this took two additional passes through the die-cut machine. Make sure to carefully line up the vellum in the grooves before cutting. You basically shift the cutting material over a little to adjust the size; once for the length and once for the height.
My final picture shows a close up of the embossing and the floral arrangement. The polka dot background is embossed in clear and the sentiment is embossed in gold glitter. Since there are so many layers the only thing I added dimension to are a couple of the flowers.
