Stretch your Stash on this Birthday Card with Lydia Evans

Catherine Birthday, CP Designs, CPD Ink

Hi there everyone! It's Lydia here and I'm so happy to be sharing a card here over on Catherine's blog.

Could this card be anymore bright, colourful and happy!?!?! I bet you are wondering where those classy looking balloons are from, right? Well they are in fact made with two different stamp sets- Leaf Motifs and Good Things.

Yep, the balloon is supposed to be a leaf and the string is supposed to be a sentiment flourish …. it's so fun to find different ways of using images to stretch your stash.

I started by stamping one of the sentiments from Good Things into place on my card front using black ink and then embossed over it using clear embossing powder. That way when I stamped over it the clear embossing powder would resist the ink.

I then took the solid leaf shape from Leaf Motifs and set to work stamping some balloons. I used Rockin' Red, Orange Twist, Tiara, Lime Rickey, Aquatini, Flirty Fuchsia and Be Mine to stamp the beautiful rainbow coloured balloons. Once I had them all in place I took the swirly sentiment flourish from Good Things and stamped a string for each of the balloons using Black Jack.

To make the sentiment pop a little more and to add some detail to the balloons I used a white gel pen. I added a little highlight to the balloons and went around the sentiment so it didn't get lost in all of the balloon excitement.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope my card today inspires you to look a little differently at the images on your stamp sets.

Hugs, Lydia
