All the Trimmings All Year Long with Zinia

CatherineChristmas, CP Designs, CPD Ink, Valentine's Day

Hello crafty friends! My name is Zinia and I’m so honored to be a guest designer with Catherine Pooler Designs and have the opportunity to play with some of these amazing products.  I created two cards that look completely different but have two big things in common. They are clean and simple and they are both focused on the gorgeous CPD inks.

For the first card, I used the Flourishes Background Stamp and I inked it up with Pixie Dust, Sweet Sixteen and It’s a Girl to create an ombre effect.

As I said I really wanted to keep both cards clean and simple so I only added a sentiment from the Seasonal Sentiments and Borders Stamp Set and colored the letters using the same colors of inks.

For the second card, I stamped the cutest little elf from the Santa Approved Stamp Set. To keep the card simple, I watercolored around the image using various ink colors in light washes.

I colored the elf by smooshing my ink pads on a craft mat and picking them up with my paintbrush, using them like watercolors. To make some areas more intense and shiny I mixed in a few drops of metallic inks.

I finished the design by adding some gold dots on the clothing of the elf.

I really love how the elf is holding the “No Peeking” sign. I’m planning to make a bunch of these cards and put them on the holiday gifts I’ll prepare for friends and family.

I really hope you enjoyed these simple cards I shared with you today and you got inspired to use your favorite CPD supplies in fun and creative ways. Have a great crafty day!
