Two Ways to Color the Peace, Love and Doves Background Stamp

CatherineChristmas, CP Designs, CPD Ink, Videos

The Peace Love and Doves Background stamp is more than meets the eye!   You can color it, emboss it, or stamp and cut out bits and pieces of it to adorn a card.  In this video tutorial, I stamped it in embossing ink, heat embossed it in silver, then colored it in two different ways.

Which card do you prefer?  The blank notecard or the one with the Happy Holidays sentiment?

The backgrounds on these cards were created virtually the same way, with minor changes.

The card on the left, I created a light blue color wash using the It's a Boy ink pad and lots of water.  I think stamped, embossed and colored the images in over it.

The card on the right, I stamped and embossed, colored in the images, then did the light blue color wash on the background.  It was a bit trickier to do it this way because some of the small berries bled into the blue.

All in all, I preferred doing the color wash first and stamping and coloring over the top of it.  Hope this tip helps you!

Here are a few more cards using the background stamps to get your wheels turning around some ideas for cards you can make this weekend!

and some non-traditional colors for ya!
