Good morning! It’s Ardyth and I’m excited to be here on Catherine’s blog with this card using stamps dies and the stencil from the latest release. I love this Twisted Sunburst stencil – you can use it to get so many looks – you can go subtle with a tone-on-tone background, or use versamark with embossing powder, or embossing pastes – or you can go vibrant like I did!
I started by creating my rainbow panel with the stencil and lots of the Party Collection inks. I taped the stencil over my 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 panel and blended outward from the centre, letting it fade towards the edges a bit. I wanted to give it a 3D look and this simple method really makes it look dimensional! I moved around the circle, going back and forth between colours to make sure that I got a good blend. When I was finished, I cut the panel down to 3 7/8 x 3 7/8 and adhered it to a black mat that was cut to 4×4.
On a separate piece of white cardstock, I used midnight ink to stamp the word star before using the matching die to cut it out. I positioned it on my rainbow panel and placed the You’re and A stamps where I wanted them before using my MISTI to stamp it.
I popped up the ‘star’ using foam tape and stamped the smallest star several times to create some movement.
To finish my card, I glued the completed panel to a white 4 1/4 x 4/14 card base.
I hope that you’re enjoying all the new products in this new release – the possibilities are really endless!
