Hello! This is Jen from Jen's Ink Spot with you. Today we are going to the tropics!
I started this card by creating the background. I stamped the Canvas Background Stamp with VersaMark ink on white cardstock and then embossed it with white embossing powder. I then used several Catherine Pooler inks to make the blended background using a foam blender. From top to bottom the colors I used are: Royal Treatment, Coral Cabana, Polished, Be Mine & It's a Girl. Once I applied each color I went back in and blended a little bit more between colors to make the transition a little smoother.
I created a frame out of white cardstock by first trimming the piece to 3 3/4″ x 5″. I then cut out the inside piece to make the rectangle frame. I cut a piece of vellum to the same size as the frame and used VersaMark ink to stamp the sun, circle image for the inside of the sun & the sentiment from the Fearless Pursuit stamp set. Those images were then embossed in fine white embossing powder. I attached the vellum piece to the white cardstock frame with adhesive.
Next, I die cut three palm trees from Midnight cardstock using the Fearless Pursuit dies. Using the vellum frame as a guide, I drew a thin pencil line on the background panel that I had earlier embossed with the Canvas Grunge Background. This would help me to know where to place the palm trees. I took the black palm trees, adhered them where I wanted them and then trimmed off the sides that went over my pencil line so that they wouldn't show when I adhered everything together. I lined the back side of my vellum frame with dimensional tape and attached it to my card panel, which I then attached to my white card base.
Thank you for joining me today in paradise! I hope each of you have a wonderful day!
