Grunged, Sponged, Stamped and Embossed Background

Hello my friends! Stampers across the country have received their Stamp of Approval Collections and have begun posting great tropical cards and projects on the internet. I had a blast getting inky with this background…all the layered goodness gave such amazing character to what really is a very simple card! View the video tutorial to see how it was done.

Let's talk about the layers.

Canvas Grunge Background Stamp created the first layer of color and texture.

On top of that, the Coral Cabana Ink Pad was sponged lightly around the edges and a bit through the middle adding some great color to the background.

Next, the basket weave pattern from the Good Vibes Border Stamp Set was stamped over that to create even more interest.

Next, the mesh-like border stamp was stamped in WOW Embossing Ink, the embossed with Rose Gold. The metallic shine that gave just put this over the top!

One last element that I almost forgot! The leaves from the Leave Me in Paradise Stamp Set…they were stamped in the same color as the background. Can you see the detail that shines through from the stamps layered under the leaves? I LOVE this look so much!

The card was finished off with some things they were laying on my desk! A left over flamingo from the Stand Tall Stamp Set, a die cut leave from Leave Me in Paradise and the sentiment on a die cut circle were all the perfect touch.
