Inlaid Die Cutting and Gold Foiling for Hand Made Cards

Catherine CP Designs, Die Cutting, Encouragement, Stamp of Approval

You guys…I am having a foiling frenzy over in the Clubhouse!  These new Cabana Tile Dies from our latest SOA, Tropically Yours, look completely amazing with metallic pops and now I think I am addicted to trying out different combos.

On this first card, I wanted to try out blending some sunset inspired colors from our Spa Collection.  One of my favorite Summer treats, is sitting on the beach in the evening and taking in all the colors. This warm color palette just feels right with shadowy palm trees…turning the shapes into a funky version of that dusk sky.  What do you think?

Here’s the full video tutorial on how I made this card.

This one just may be one of my favorites!!  I blended together bold Party Colors like Flirty Fuchsia, Something Borrowed and Party Dress and colored by own custom card stock,  then I cut all of the same shapes with the Cabana Tiles using gold foil to mix and match, creating these inlaid shapes.  Layer on two palm trees from the Tropically Yours die set and this card just screams Miami to me…road trip!!

Another way to add pizzazz to these dies is to emboss die cut hexagons with the Midas touch Embossing Glitter.  This card sparkles like crazy!  It really plays up the art deco feel of these dies.  By arranging the shapes around this bold sentiment from the Fearless Pursuit stamp set makes it the star.

This one I made live, this week, over on my YouTube page.  If you want to take a closer look and craft along…here’s the link to that video!

So, are you feeling lured in to do some inlaid die cutting and play with foil??

I think once you get started, you will also find it hard to stop!  I am on a role, people!
