Hi everyone! Chrissie here today! I'm excited to share this spring-inspired card on Catherine's blog.
This card was easy to create, but has a lot of pop to it!
First, trim a piece of Premium White Cardstock to 4.25 x 11 and score at 5.5 inches. Fold over to create a top-folding standard card. Trim a piece of Watercolor Cardstock to 4.25 x 5.5 inches. Set aside.
On another piece of Premium White Cardstock, stamp the butterfly wings from Faithful Flutterings in Bellini and Polished. Stamp the body in Peppermint Scrub. A stamp press (like the MISTI) can be used, but it is probably not needed. The CP inks cover so well, it's rare that I need to stamp my images multiple times!
Stamp the Kaleidoscope Background stamp onto the 4.25 x 5.5 panel using Versamark watermark ink. Cover it with white embossing powder and heat emboss. Once it is embossed, it's time to add some soft color.
Stamp the ink pads directly onto a stamp block. Use inks Bellini and Peppermint Scrub. Grab the ink with the waterbrush and add it to the panel. Add the Peppermint Scrub in the lower left and blend. Add the Bellini in the upper right and blend. Add as much ink as desired to achieve the color you want. Allow this panel to dry.
Once the panel is completely dry, trim it apart. Trim off the top and edges so the size is 4 x 5.25. Trim off the top piece to 1 inch. Trim off a second piece that is 3/4 inch and set aside (keep this for later or throw it away; it won't be used for this project. Trim one more piece to 1/4 inch.
Assemble the card. Add theses pieces to the card base, leaving an area open for the sentiment. Stamp the “Hello” sentiment in Midnight ink. Add the butterfly to the front to complete the card.
I hope you will try this! It's a fun way to create an interesting background and by adding water to the inks, it creates a watercolor effect.
Thank you so much to Catherine for having me on the blog today!
