You are Wonderful with Ashlea

Hey everyone! It's Ashlea here and I am so excited to be sharing some inspiration with you.

When I first opened my Creative Team package, I was immediately drawn to the Grateful Heart stamp and die set. Not only are the florals beautiful but who doesn't love large, script-y sentiments? I also love that it comes with the two half wreath floral arrangements and stand alone florals and branches that you can create your own arrangement with. Creative freedom for the win!

For the floral arrangement that I created on this card, I decided to use the best of both worlds. I wanted the flowers to create a sort of bed for the “Wonderful” die, so I marked where the word started and ended on the card stock with a pencil so that I could erase the marks later.

I then realized that the larger of the half wreath stamps still wouldn't be long enough to cradle the word so I decided to stamp the larger of the stand alone flowers on either side of where the word would be. I masked those florals, and then stamped the larger half wreath stamp in order to create a fuller, larger floral arrangement.

I colored the flowers in with colored pencils and placed the Wonderful die so that about half was in the flowers and half above it. Separately, I used the Wonderful die on a piece of scrap card stock and cut it 3 more times. I glued all of the words on top of one another with the top layer being the piece that was cut from the floral card front. This gave a chipboard quality to the die cut and raised it from the card front in order to make the word a bit more legible.

Finally, I used the sentiment “You Are Loved More Than You Know” from the Grateful Heart stamp set but masked everything except “You Are”. After inking up that portion of the sentiment and removing the mask from the rest of the sentiment, I stamped it directly onto the card front just above the word Wonderful. This creates a sentiment that is part of the design of the card. I used glossy accents over die cut to make it stand out a bit more to be sure it doesn't get completely lost.

I love the simplicity of this card. I'm usually one to add enamel dots, or sequins, or watercolor splatter but I was encouraged to leave the white space here and I'm so happy I did. I hope you're enjoying the new release and all of the inspiration coming along with it! Happy crafting!
