Let's learn a little more about Allison…
Tell us a little about yourself.
Howdy all! I’m Allison Cope but most people call me Ally! I am a 38 year old stay-at-home Mom to my 9 year old son, Spencer. I’ve been married to my best friend, Todd for over 7 years. And yes, Spencer is my husband’s child – we just did things backwards! LOL! I am proud to say I volunteer my time weekly to my local Cub Scouts here in Strathmore, AB, Canada. The kids range in age from 9-11 years old (and I have 17 in my pack!) and we do everything from knot tying to setting up tents, camping to sewing and even card making too!
I have been paper crafting for over 10 years now. I am proud to say currently I am a designer for Power Poppy stamps, I contribute bi-monthly articles to the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog and I am also a Card Sketches hostess and designer for Splitcoaststampers.
I have been published in a number of paper publications such as Create: Mini Albums, Scrapbook Trends, CARDS magazine, Scrapbook and Cards Today, Canadian Scrapbooker and also a British publication called The Scrapbook Magazine.
What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment?
I think my biggest accomplishment in life has to be my son. He deals with ADHD and ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder) every day. He is a challenge every day but he makes me a better person because I can deal with just about any situation. He’s taught me how to cope with different situations and how to manage stress pretty well. Even though he drives me crazy daily, he’s still my pride and joy.
How were you first introduced to paper crafting?
I was first introduced to paper crafting just before my son was born. My sister Christie gave me a baby album scrapbook kit as a shower gift and I never looked back!
What is your signature style? Show us one card that shows your signature style.
I don’t really and truly have a signature style per say! I tend to jump around from CAS to pile-on cards, to some vintage and back again. But the things that I feel most of my cards contain are, some kind of stitching (faux, die cut or machine stitching), some kind of die cut element and most of all, Copic Markers; my medium of choice. Allison, thank you for sharing yourself with us and being an incredible Dream Team Member! We adore you!!!
