It was just a couple of days ago that I posted about snow and here I am again…LOOK at what happened last night!
We woke up to a winter wonderland with heavy, wet snow that…sigh…took out some power lines. I'm sure you know what that means…no power.
So the Poolers had a completely unplugged day (there are 457 emails in my inbox to prove it!). We snuggled by the fire, played some games and ventured outside a few times. Randall and Eva's big project for the day was building a snow fort.
Living in Raleigh, NC, we don't see snow like this often and we certainly aren't prepared for it (I do have a winter coat, but no real BOOTS.. just fashion boots).
The funniest thing was when I was texting with Maureen this morning and she said, “Gosh, you don't even have a snow blower, do you!?”. I was like, “Mo! We are lucky to have a SHOVEL!!!” hahaha…so funny how there is just a half day's drive between us and we get such different weather.
By dinner time we were down to FOUR pieces of wood for the fire and the forcast calls for 19 degrees tonight. The power company announced that our area wouldn't have power again until 11:45 pm, Feb. 27th.
Miraculously the main roads were almost dry…so when I heard that, I looked at Randall and the kids and said, “Pack a bag! We're going to grandpa's!!!”.
Once we got to my dad's, a neighbor texted me to let me know the power had just came back on. Seriously?
I don't mean to complain, really it was kind of funny, and I'm happy to have the power back. So we loaded the kids back in the car and headed home.
Now it's 10 pm, I was supposed to have a video up for you today, but I'm beat, I'm behind (the kids have gone to school TWO DAYS in the past two weeks), so I'm going to call it a day. Forgive me? I'll have that video for you on Monday.
Please check back with me tomorrow. I'll be announcing our newest Dream Team member!!!!
I hope YOU are warm and safe.
