Happy Halloween weekend everyone! Randall and I are going to a Halloween party tonight dressed as Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton from True Blood.
I wanted to bring a fun treat to the party, so I started searching online and found THIS "recipe" for Vampire Kisses. Oh, my goodness! How appropriate is this for Sookie and Bill!
Something funny about this, I read the directions and thought it was great, then saw who submitted it…it is the brother of one of my dear friends from high school! He is a big time designer in NYC. How cool is that?
I went out looking for a Halloween tray today and can you believe I couldn't find one!!??? So, I created my own. I took a piece of DSP from Frightful Sight, cut it to fit, adhered it to the try with Dotto. To protect it, I then adhered a piece of Window Sheet over the DSP.
A black rose and a few bats on the rim of the tray finished it off. I plan to make a tent card as well with the instructions for making the drink, stamping it of course with some fun Halloween stamps.
Here's how to make these blood-dripping glasses:
- Pour corn syrup into a wide, shallow bowl.
- Add a few drops of red food coloring and mix until the syrup has a bright red color.
- Using a clear glass tumbler dip the rim in the syrup mixture and set the glass on wax paper and allow to dry overnight. The syrup will drip down the glass creating the desired "dripping blood" effect.
I started doing this on my own, but the kiddos quickly took over. They are going to grandpa's tonight, so I'm sending them with their own blood-dripping glasses complete with a set of Vampire Teeth inside the glasses!
Have a spooky night, everyone!
