Tart and Tangy Stamp Set with Scratch and Sniff Heat EmbossingMarch 9th, 2010 Posted on March 9th, 2010, 2 responses.
Hello Stamper Friends! Read all the way to the end to find out who won the blog candy. Keep your comments coming, I love them and it makes all the work of posting worth it when I read them! Today I want to share with you some fun samples made with the Tart and Tangy Stamp Set! It is on page 126 of Stampin’ Up’s main catalog and is $14.95…but if you place a $50 order before March 31, you can choose it as your free Sale-a-bration Stamp Set! (catalogs are in the sidebar for you to peruse…contact me if you need me to put a copy in your hot little hands!;). I have used this set for lots of fun things and it’s one that will sit on my “I’ll bring it to the grave” shelf once it retires. I used it this month for Cards and Projects (did you know you get a free class with me each month when you commit to spending $15 per month with me?), and if you are a member of the Online Cards and Projects club, you will recieve all the supplies to make this card in the mail! If you haven’t signed up yet, you have until Weds. night to register and place your first order. This was a popular color combination..fun with the blue, olive and red, dontcha think? We mixed 1 tsp. of Cherry Jello (you could also use Kool Aid) with Clear Embossing Powder, poured it on after inking the cherries with craft ink and heated it. Once it cools, you’ll actually need to scratch it to get that cherry smell going again. Supplies:

**Stampin’ Spots are a GREAT way to try out a bunch of colors for less than the price of 4 full sized ink pads. They are also useful for inking small parts of a stamp and can be used for watercoloring as well! Craft Stampin’ Spots (pigment based ink, takes a while to dry, you can emboss with it, stamp on fabric, walls, wood, etc): 105439 Bold Brights, 105438 Earth Elements, 105437 Rich Regals, 105370 Soft Subtles Classic Stampin’ Spots (dye ink, dries immediately, not fade-resistant, used for most papercrafting): 105550 Bold Brights, 105551 Earth Elements,105552 Rich Regals, 105553 Soft Subtles Did you know there are 22 samples in the gallery made with the Tart and Tangy Stamp Set? And if you upload your creations, you will be entered to win a hostess stamp set of your choice when the gallery hits 2500 sample. Set up an account, login and upload away! Email me with any questions. Here are a few: This sample was a invitation for our Teacher Appreciation Fondue Party a couple years ago…it’s perfect! I used Stampin’ Write markers to color directly on the stamp.
These 2 samples were made for some downline events by Kim Allen and Deena Boos.

Stampin’ Up’s Butterfly Accent with Heat Embossing!February 24th, 2010 Posted on February 24th, 2010, 5 responses.Happy Wednesday to you! Thanks for checking in to day to see my newest Iridescent Ice Heat Embossing video! This one is a bit different. I used the Stampin’ Up Butterfly Accent Stamp Set from the Mini Catalog to emboss a beautiful, glittery butterfly onto Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper. Then I cut it out, adhered it with some dimensionals over my row of circle punches. My favorite part of this card has to be the rhinestones for the body of the butterfly. Those came from the Eggcelent Eggs Kit from Stampin’ Up’s Mini Catatlog! I don’t think I’ll have any left for egg decorating at this rate!

Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, meet I {Heart} Hearts Stamp SetFebruary 22nd, 2010 Posted on February 22nd, 2010, one response.Hello, Stampers! Today I have another video highlighting Stampin’ Up’s Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. Even though Valentine’s Day is past, Stampin’ Up’s I {Heart} Hearts Stamp Set is still a fabulous stamp for many occasions. Who wouldn’t want an I love you card anytime during the year! And when you purchase this set through Feb. 28, Stampin’ Up will donate $2 to American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. I used the Versamark Ink to stamp a few hearts on my white cardstock and those became subtle, glittery hearts….then I wanted to highlight one, so I inked my heart in Real Red Craft Ink and stamped. Craft Ink is a pigment ink and it’s thick and stays wet for a while. This enables you to pour on embossing powder and emboss your stamped image. This also makes it a bit messy to work with! Thus, my card looks different that I intended. Different, but just as good I think! I smudged the red ink in a few places, so I had the opportunity to be creative and see how I could cover up the smudges. View the video and see how!

Happy Stamping everyone and thanks for stopping by! Heat Embossing: Faux Diamonds Technique with Everything Nice Stamp SetFebruary 15th, 2010 Posted on February 15th, 2010, one response.Yippeee! I made another video! I had this card planned in my mind for more than a week, but when I hurt my back, it just stayed in my head. I was really excited to get to make it yesterday. (My back still hurts, but continues to improve and today I am getting a massage. woohooo!) It might be hard to tell from the photo, but the main image piece here was made with the Faux Diamonds Technique. First, I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to ink the stamp, then after I stamped it, I inked up my 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″ square with the Versamark Ink. Then, I poured Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder over it, tapped it off and heated it. Heat Embossing Tips: The “toughest” part of embossing is being able to tell when it’s done. When I am embossing, I watch carefully for the powder to melt. The color of your ink, embossing powder or paper will change (usually get darker). When you think it’s done, hold it up to the light and move it around to get a good look at it. Make sure there are no spots of powder on your image. If the entire area is shiny and not powdery, you’re done! If you see any powder, zap it again with your heat tool.

Cards and Projects ClubFebruary 4th, 2010 Posted on February 4th, 2010, 3 responses.Hello Friends! ahhh…the kids went back to school today. What an interesting, unexpected vacation and I know you northerners are totally cracking up that 5″ of snow on Saturday had the kids out of school through Wednesday! Certainly not how I grew up in Upstate NY! anyway…. My friend Amy brought me some scrapbooking magazines last week and while perusing, I got inspired to make this card! You can see the original scrapbook page from Scrapbooks, Etc., in the video. I love the “peek-a-boo” look and I’m cooking up some more projects using this idea. Aint it cool? ;) Stampin’ Tips: I embossed the greeting by stamping Happy Birthday from the Well Scripted stamp set in White Craft Ink, poured on my White Embossing Powder, then I heated it with my Stampin’ Up Heat Tool. Before stamping, be sure to wipe down your cardstock with the Embossing Buddy, it will remove the static from your cardstock so the Embossing Powder only sticks to the stamped image. One thing to think about though, the white powder in the Embossing Buddy can make a bit of a smudge on your Black cardstock, so for club, I am going to change this card base to Close to Cocoa to make it a bit more user-friendly. (and yes, that smudge on the bottom is totally bugging me now that I keep looking at it! yikes!) If you are a Cards and Projects Club member, we will be making this on Sunday or Monday. Be sure to register here for your session and if you haven’t joined us before, I invite you to come have some fun! Not local to Raleigh? You can still participate and get all the supplies to make this and 2 more projects when you join the Online Cards and Projects club! The skinny here.

Happy Stamping Everyone! Happy Moments Stamp set and Shimmer PaintJanuary 26th, 2010 Posted on January 26th, 2010, 3 responses.Hey, friends! Today’s featured stamp set is Happy Moments. It’s a beloved Sale-A-Bration set and you can get yours for free with a $50 purchase! Visit yesterday’s post to see all the images from this set. I was inspired by the colors and use of shimmer paint in Cam’s card (yesterday’s post) and inspired by the layout of this card below by Amy Fitzgerald. It uses the Messages for Mom Stamp Set and Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper. Isn’t it cute? So I took these two cards, got all excited, locked myself in the stamp room and created today’s card. I hope you enjoy the video! and, don’t mind the dog…geez.

Stampin’ Up’s Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper and Stitched FeltJanuary 13th, 2010 Posted on January 13th, 2010, 3 responses.Hey, friends! Oh, how I’m lovin’ my Sweet Pea. The colors, the designs….This pack of Designer Series Paper has 48 sheets for $24.95. You get 2 sheets of every pattern, the sheets are double sided and there are 48 different patterns. Wowsas! I’m selling this pack like hot cakes and I’ve made a good dent in my own pack! Click on the Shop Now button at at the bottom of this post, or in the sidebar to get your own. If you’d like a sample (6×6 of every sheet), sign up for my Designer Series Paper Split. Another thing I like about this pack of paper is the variety of patterns. They all coordinate with each other and at the same time includes so many different types. feminine. masculin. elegant. whimisical. polka dots. strips. houndstooth. you name it. it’s in there. See how it all comes together in this video. There’s a couple techniques in here that will remain nameless because I don’t know what they’re called. Leave me a comment if you can enlighten me! Haha!
