I hope you don’t mind, but I’m sticking with the videoing the screen….for now. haha!

Stampers’ Q&A: How do I make a flower with the Blossoms Petal Punch?January 14th, 2011 Posted on January 14th, 2011, one response.
Hello stampers! Just a few days ago, I pulled out the Build-a-blossom stamp set and Blossom Petals Punch and I LOVED the resulting card that I made with it. I found it a bit tricky to figure out the best way to put this flower together, so today’s Stampers’ Q&A is just that….How to use the Build a Blossom Stamp Set and coordinating Blossom Petals Punch! A few tricks I can tell you about:

Stampers’ Q&A: How do I clean my Clear Mount Blocks?January 7th, 2011 Posted on January 7th, 2011, one response.Q: How do I clean my Clear Mount Blocks? A: This is a great question because your Clear Mount Blocks must stay clean so the Clear Mount Stamps will cling to them! When my stamp won’t cling to the block, the first thing I do is wipe them both on my sleeve. This will remove any dirt or dust that has gotten on them and they should cling nicely then. I also have noticed that over time, my blocks have gotten dirty and inky. You can spray them with Stampin’ Mist Cleaner and wipe them down with a tissue. If you have Stazon Ink on them, use your Stazon Cleaner and that ink will come off perfectly and leave you with beautiful clear blocks that look like new!

Stampers’ Q&A: Versamark Ink Pads!November 8th, 2010 Posted on November 8th, 2010, 9 responses.Have you ever wondered what the difference is between stamping with a Versamark Ink Pad and a regular ink pad? Both are fabulous, of course, but When you stamp color on color (Old Olive Ink on Old Olive Cardstock, for instance), you get a dark stamped image. When you stamp Versamark Ink on ANY color cardstock, you get a lighter stamped image, kind of like a watermark. A big benefit of the Versamark Ink Pad is that it’s like having a matching ink color for every single color cardstock you have!
For this fun and cheerful card, I used the Old Olive Ink Pad on Old Olive Cardstock for dark background stamping. STAMPIN’ UP SUPPLIES:

Stampers’ Q&A: How do the new style punches work?November 2nd, 2010 Posted on November 2nd, 2010, 5 responses. If you have ordered one of Stampin’ Up’s punches from the new catalog (began July 1), you know that the style has changed. I have always told my customers to stamp first, then punch upside down. Some of the new punches work better if you lay them on the table and punch. Specifically, punches like the Petal Card Punch. One customer asks: "Can you help me understand the how to use the petal punch I ordered? I know it was listed as a 2-step punch, but I didn’t think that literally meant to punch it twice! I’m having trouble getting it to cut all the way and to "emboss" the folded lines. I’m sure this one is user error, as I haven’t used this style of punch before this recent order! Can you shed some light if you’ve had any experience with it?" Awesome question! View the video to see it in action:

Stampers’ Q&A: Heat EmbossingOctober 25th, 2010 Posted on October 25th, 2010, 15 responses.Today’s Stampers Q&A comes from my embossing video from last week. View that here. Sylvia asks to know, "Thank you for the video. Does the embossing work better with craft ink pads than the other ink pads?". Stampin’ Up’s exclusive colored ink pads come in 2 different formulations. Craft and Classic. Classic ink is a dye-based ink. It dries immediately and is easy to work with. The Craft Ink Pads are pigment inks. You can think Pigment:paint. They are both thick and wet. Pigment ink is wet when stamped and will take a while to dry. The benefit is a rich, dark color and when it is wet, you can pour on embossing powder and emboss your image. You can’t do that with Classic Inks because they dry right away and the embossing powder will not stick to it. The other type of ink that you can emboss with is a Versamark Pad. I hope that answers your question, Sylvia and don’t hesitate to ask me more questions!
Do you see the fancy, colored, glittered pearls? Stampin’ Up does not sell those, but I made them! I simply dabbed craft ink onto the pearls, covered them in Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, then heated them with my heat tool! Pretty nifty!
Have a wonderful Saturday! My inspiration today came from 365 Cards, Pile it on, 2sketches4you, cuttlebugspot, incywincydesigns and the shabby tearoom.
Stampers’ Q&A: How Do I Get My Clear Mount Stamps To Stick to the Blocks??October 18th, 2010 Posted on October 18th, 2010, 10 responses.
Before I get to today’s card, I wanted to answer a question that came to me recently. Jill wanted to know how to keep her Clear Mount Stampin’ Up Stamps from falling off her blocks and messing up her projects! First thing, you want to make sure the cling side of your stamp is clean. Rub it on your pants or sleeve. Then, lay your stamp, cling side up, and press your block onto it. You should get a good cling now. If you don’t, you can clean your clear mount blocks with some Stampin’ Mist. That should do the trick!

Stampers’ Q&A: What Punches are the Best?October 11th, 2010 Posted on October 11th, 2010, 11 responses. Here is a common question that came to me this week from Lisa: "In so many videos I watch, there’s layering of a small circle onto a different color larger circle…then ultimately matted onto an even larger scalloped circle, etc… This is such a terrific question, I thought I would address it here for this week’s Stampers Q&A. Hold on to your hats, ladies (and gents!) there is a lot of info here, 2 fabulous projects (at least I think so My very favorite punches that I use over and over and over again are:

Stampers’ Q&A: How Do I Cut Cardstock?September 27th, 2010 Posted on September 27th, 2010, 2 responses.This might sound like a very basic question, but it’s one I hear a lot.
You will need to change your blades every once in a while. How to tell? If you cut and your freshly cut edge looks a little fuzzy, or if it looks like you used the distresser tool on the cutter kit, it’s time for a new one! Stampin’ Up sells replacement blades (104153), and I also recommend purchasing the Cutting and Scoring Blade Refill, this is 1 cutting blade and 1 scoring tool (104154). One tip that I can give you is to line your cardstock up at the top of the paper trimmer along the "lip" so it’s straight. Then, move your blade from bottom to top. As you push the blade towards the top of the cutter, the paper or cardstock will not slip and give you a crooked cut! If you would like to purchase the 104152 Paper Trimmer, please visit my Online Store!

Stampers’ Q&A: What Types of Adhesives Does Stampin’ Up Carry?September 20th, 2010 Posted on September 20th, 2010, no responses.Well, that depends on what you are doing with them! Here’s the skinny on Stampin’ Up’s different adhesives. SNAIL Adhesive: this is my go to for most papercrafting. It’s strong and easy to use. You purchase one, then when you run out, you just get a refill. Pretty cost effective! When you are glueing, make sure you place your adhesive close to the edge of your cardstock and rub it hard to ensure a good bond. Mini Glue Dots: These I use for attaching buttons to my project. You could also secure stray ribbon if you are Type A. Multipurpose Liquid Glue: Liquid Glue is great for adhering Designer Series Paper to chipboard. Be sparing with it because it you put on too much, it will leak out the side and your paper will get too wet and warp. Two Way Glue Pen: I only use this adhesive for glitter. Draw on your project where you want the glitter to go, then pour the glitter on and tap off!

Stampers’ Q&A: How do I get a vintage look on my projects?September 13th, 2010 Posted on September 13th, 2010, one response. My style in papercrafting tends to learn towards a fun, whimsical, cutsie style….and quick and easy. not a ton of layering and stuff on my projects. But, the vintage, shabby look is very popular right now and I find myself just loving it. When I first started trying to make "vintage projects", they just looked like something destined for the trash can. I have picked up some tips along the way and find myself reaching for a lot of the same supplies when I’m making something "vintage-ish". Here are a few lists of things to do and have. The first thing is about supplies. The very first things I recommend having are:
Other good things:
Great colors for the vintage look:
Some important things to include in your vintage projects:
Suggested stamp sets (see all these stamp sets on pages 125 – 142 of theStampin’ Up Catalog):
I hope these lists help you achieve your own vintage style and be sure to check back as I work on mine!
