Stampers’ Q&A: What are your favorite features of My Digital Studio?January 28th, 2011 Posted on January 28th, 2011, 2 responses.Hello everyone! Last week I shared with you some of the great features of My Digital Studio. See that post here. Today I wanted to show you a few of my favorite features.
I have to confess to you all that my techi husband came home last Friday and poked a little bit of fun at me for my "high tech" way of videoing the computer screen. He told me that there are screen capturing programs online for free. Really?? Who knew? But you all aren’t coming here for perfection, are you? Neither am I, LOL! I hope you don’t mind, but I’m sticking with the videoing the screen….for now. haha!

My Digital Studio Christmas Card #4December 9th, 2010 Posted on December 9th, 2010, one response. My Digital Studio has been a great tool for me while recovering from surgery. I can sit on the couch with my lovely laptop and craft away! Here is my latest card using MDS. I used Baja Breeze with Not Quite Navy and White snowflakes, offset by some silver brads. Notice how I shadowed the Scallop Oval Punch to make it look like it was punched out and attached with dimensionals? I was also able to enlarge the punches to fit the greeting I customized and I used the image editing to make the photo black and white. Stampin’ Up also just release even MORE downloads and here are a few to make your Christmas Cards a snap! Just pop in your photo(s) and you’re done! Click Here to view all the newest downloads!
My Digital Studio Christmas Card #3November 28th, 2010 Posted on November 28th, 2010, one response.Happy Sunday everyone! We set up the tree last night, but had uncooperative children. Imagine that! I couldn’t get a good photo of the 3 of them to make a card today like I told you I was going to do! Oh, well…I was able to pull in a few pictures from the second half of 2010 for this Holiday card. I used a kit that comes with My Digital Studio for this card. It has background papers along with elements, sort of like printed sticky diecuts that might come in a scrapbooking kit. I added the Curly Label Punch, widened it, then added a text box to it for the greeting. The rest of the day will be filled with finishing touches on the house, and preparation for my mom’s arrival tonight. I’m anxious for my surgery to be over and to be on the road to recovery. I do have posts scheduled for this week, so be sure to check back! DON’T MISS:

My Digital Studio Christmas CardsNovember 27th, 2010 Posted on November 27th, 2010, one response. If you follow my blog, you know I WANT to use My Digital Studio more, but I just haven’t gotten into it much yet…maybe that should be my New Year’s Resolution! I played around last night with it a bit and made these 2 Christmas Cards! They each took me less than 15 minutes, then I could have Stampin’ Up professionally print them, ship them straight to me with envelopes in less than a week. It’s that easy! Click here for pricing information. We are going to put up the tree today, and you know, it would be a great idea to take a photo of the kids and do a card with it later today. Then, viola! I’d have a current photo on the card! Oooh, you’ll have to check back tomorrow to see what I come up with! These 2 cards feature photos from our Stampin’ Up Caribbean Cruise back in April. My very favorite feature of MDS is the color matching! I color matched the snowflakes on the first card to one of the blues in the ocean, the scallop border to a color in Anna’s bathing suite, the words to the rocks. In the second card, I matched the snowflakes to Randall’s suit and the red ho ho and border around the photo to the girls’ dresses. How stinkin AWESOME is that!!???? Not only does MDS give you all the "regular" SU colors, but you can MATCH any color in your photos! So, how do you get My Digital Studio? You can order it from my Online Store. Normally priced at $79.95, it is now 50% off through Tuesday. OR, you can take advantage of the Demonstrator Starter Kit. You can get the traditional kit with stamps, inks, papers, etc…OR you can get the Digital Starter Kit which includes My Digital Studios and other goodies. At 50% off ($87.50), you just can’t beat the chance to start your own business! Click here for more information. Be sure to scroll all the way down to the bottom of my website and in the sidebar, you will see categories. Click on My Digital Studio to see all my posts with and about MDS. When you get MDS, or if you already have it, be sure to update your My Digital Studio software! It’s easy, and even better, it’s FREE! Pooler Happenin’s: Eva Turns 6!November 14th, 2010 Posted on November 14th, 2010, 2 responses.I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! We celebrated the 2nd Pooler child’s birthday this weekend (the 3rd child’s birthday is Dec. 4)! Eva turned 6 on November 10. We had a Rainbow themed birthday party and I don’t know who was more thrilled with the paintings the kids made, the kids or the moms! I gave them each an artist’s canvas (these are a few dollars each at the craft store), a big paint brush and a rainbow paint pallette. The kids did great! They didn’t make a mess, can you believe it? Their paintings were gorgeous and they have a fabulous keepsake from the party to hang on their wall. The party was topped of by rainbow cupcakes and a rainbow pinata. I wanted to add a quote here from the birthday girl, so I asked her what she thought of the birthday party. Her response was "nothing". Oh, well, I know she had a great time. My Digital Studio The page I made here was done on Stampin’ Up’s My Digital Studio. I honestly have not done much with MDS OR scrapbooking lately! Shame on me! I wanted to show you a bunch of photos from the party, so I did a quick page. It literally took me less than 10 minutes. I plan to do another facing page with a large photo of Eva and her friends from the party with fun embellishments and a title. Then, I can get these pages printed out and slip them into my top loading scrapbook album. Did you know Stampin’ Up has professional printing services? I can get my scrapbook pages printed as part of a book, or get them as individual pages for $2.50 per page! I had some pages printed last year (before SU offered this) and they were $12 a piece! My Digital Studio Christmas CardDecember 23rd, 2009 Posted on December 23rd, 2009, one response.Merry Christmas Everyone! I wanted to share our Christmas Card this year. I took the girls to the mall and shot this photograph in front of Santa. I did not use a flash for this photo and I got just the look I was looking for! Gosh, these sweeties are cute! By the next morning, I had uploaded this photo and made the card in My Digital Studio. It was that fast. And within a matter of days I had them printed off and ready to go with almost no work! Since this is the time to take tons-o-photos, here are a few tips for you from Ron Nichols, author of Picture-Taking for Moms and Dads, and How to Take Great Pet Pictures. Ron encourages families to make the most of the occasion by capturing some of that joy in photographs. Here are a few ways Ron suggests to turn average holiday photos into “visual treasures.”
And a few tips from me: Make sure to get pictures of YOURSELF! These will be very important to your children. And take photos of the tree withOUT a flash. The lights will show up beautifully! I know you’re going to need to SCRAPBOOK these photos, so check out my Christmas Jingle Kit…only a few left! Happy Stamping Everyone! The Skinny on My Digital StudioDecember 10th, 2009 Posted on December 10th, 2009, no responses.updates…Just wanted to make sure you all knew that Stampin’ Up has an update for My Digital Studio. Open My Digital Studio. Along the top you will see, File, Edit, Arrange….etc…the last one is Help. Hover over Help and a drop down menu will show up. The second option is “Check For Updates”. This will connect you with SU and it will walk you through it if there are any updates available….which there is one now to fix the bleed area issue when printing a bound book. You will want to do this every once in a while. You still need to be careful when printing a calendar, though. Make sure there aren’t any photos, embellishments, etc, because it is possibly that 1/4″ of each side and 1/2″ from the top and bottom will be cut off when printing. Also, make sure your background goes ALL THE WAY OFF into the bleed section or you will end up with a white border all the way around your project. Hope you found that helpful!
