Moving Cards: Stocking Pop-Up Christmas Card!November 2nd, 2011 Posted on November 2nd, 2011, 15 responses.
This looks like an ordinary Christmas Card, right? A cute little stocking with my favorite Jingle Bells, some Holly Berry Bouquet Designer Series Paper, and some textured cardstock…cute and fun.
Now, imagine opening it up looking for the regular ole run-of-the-mill Christmas Gretting and signature. Instead, you find this:
A Pop-up element that is sure to surprise and delight the recipient! I’m not joking when I say this is SO STINKIN’ SIMPLE! Watch! Yes, I Know! Easy peasy! Can you tell I was pumped about this card? I have a really fun idea to take this type of card up even another notch and add even more fun and surprise to the inside of this card….that video will be coming to StampNation within a week. Be on the lookout! Also, members, I’ve been doing my homework. Many of you asked for more fall projects…they are coming! TONS of awesome things are going on at StampNation…. A feast for the eyes is what today is all about my friends! Laura Barto caused me a jaw dropping moment when she handed me this lovely at Founder’s Circle. What an incredible way to use the Creative Elements Stamp Set (WM: 122645 , CM:122647)! Who’da thunk on a Christmas Card! woot! She also used the Contempo Christmas Stamp Set (WM: 118734, CM: 120594) for the greeting with the Decorative Label Punch backed with one of the 114508 Lots of Tags Die, Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding, and Cherry Cobbler Quilted Ribbon. I just used the Creative Elements Stamp Set with a color washing technique for the 14th issue of Simply WOW! Have you subscribed yet? Got 10? 10 Minute Holiday Card with Many Merry MessagesNovember 19th, 2010 Posted on November 19th, 2010, one response.Welcome to this week’s Got 10 card! If you haven’t planned out your holiday cards yet, you are going to need one that will take you less than 10 minutes to make, right? Try this one! When I began stamping this card, I had in mind what I wanted to do. When I finished it, it was buggin’ me. The card wasn’t quite right. I almost threw the card away and ditched the video. But then I took another look. I noticed a piece of crochet trim in my scrap bin and thought that paired with an Antique Brad would be the perfect addition to this card and save it from the recyling bin! Even with adding something to this card, it was still under 10 minutes to make! View the video to see how this came out!

Stampin’ Up’s Contempo Christmas Photo Card!November 17th, 2010 Posted on November 17th, 2010, 3 responses.A photo card for the holidays is a wonderful way to connect with friends and family. How many of your friends have holiday photo cards plastered all over their fridge all year long? This year YOUR card could be the favorite one on the fridge! This card was quick and easy to whip up and is awaiting that famous family letter to put inside. I think I’ll make hubby write it this year! I started with a half sheet of Crumb Cake Cardstock, folded in half. My Real Red layer is cut at 4 x 5 1/4". I stamped it with the Christmas Collage Stamp in Real Red and sponged Early Espresso around the edges. Next, I stamped the ornament from the Contempo Christmas Stamp Set in Real Red Craft Ink (this is a pigment ink that is wet and is fabulous for embossing), then poured on my Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and heated it with my heat tool. The Ornament Punch by Stampin’ Up made it a snap to punch out this glittery awesome-ness! A little Tinsel and the greeting punched out with the Modern Label Punch finished this simple and gorgeous card (do you think I’m stuck up saying that? LOL). STAMPIN’ UP SUPPLIES:

Contempo Christmas Stamp SetNovember 8th, 2010 Posted on November 8th, 2010, 5 responses.I have been lusting after the Contempo Christmas Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up for a while now, but I have resisted purchasing it because I have so. many. Christmas. Sets!!!! Luckily, my dear friend, Kecia came over this weekend for my downline meeting and left it for me to borrrow. WOOT! I wanted to get this card up for you before heading to the Y. I’ve been bad lately and my friend (who is also a spin instructor) about fell over when she saw me at the Y last week. This card was inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch and Crafty Cardmakers. Another Cute Christmas Stamp Set Card…all the things you can do!November 4th, 2010 Posted on November 4th, 2010, 7 responses.I made this card for a few challenges today, including my friend, Maureen’s color challenge over at Simply Scrapping Crafts! Her color combo was light blue, red and pink. I knew right away I would be using the Candy Cane Lane Designer Paper for this! Actually, I used many of the same supplies as yesterday’s card. See all the fabby things you can do with one set of supplies!? The stockings main image was perfect for my 1 3/4" circle punch. For the layer behind it, I used my Circle Scissors Plus to create a mat for it. If you would like to see how the Circle Scissors Plus works, click here to view my video. It’s a dark and rainy day here in Raleigh, so I’m snuggled in my stamp room with a cup of coffee to stamp the day away! I hope you enjoy yours and thanks for visiting! STAMPIN’ UP SUPPLIES:

Many times I get mine from the Stampin’ Up catalog! If you don’t have a copy of your very own, E-mail me immediately so I can get a copy out to you ASAP! (As a customer service, if you plan to purchase from me, I send it to you for free!) This particular card was inspired by page 37 of the Holiday Mini Catalog. What a gorgeous picture! Click here to download the catalog. It was also the inspiration this week for the cards challenge over at Simply Scrapping Crafts! I love all these coordinating products from Stampin’ Up!…the stamp set, the tinsel, the paper and the fabric. It’s fresh and fun and it’s just my style! I think this will be one of the make and takes for my Cards and Projects class on Sunday and Monday this week. If you are local to Raleigh-Durham, please join us! Register here. This card came together QUICK! I pulled a 4 x 5 1/4" scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamped those sweet little mittens along the bottom and colored them in…I think that part took the longest! Another scrap from the Candy Cane Christmas Specialty Paper topped off with a piece of Candy Cane Christmas Designer Fabric instead of my normal ribbon and it was done! Adorable! Oh, my gosh! I know I’m supposed to be getting ready for the camping trip, but I was on a jog this morning thinking about the card challenges at allsorts and CardPatterns and this card popped into my head. Has that ever happened to you? It’s based on some ideas I was talking about with my friend and customer Dee. Thanks, Dee! When I got home I begged hubby for 30 minutes in my stamp room and he agreed. Woot! I was tickled at how this turned out! It’s one of my favorites in a long time. I think my Cards and Projects gals are going to be making something similar in the next class! Live in the Raleigh-Durham area? Register for the next class here!
I used a couple techniques here that I’ve shown you before:

Catherine’s Color Combo #10: A Cute Christmas Stamp Set meets Jolly Old St. Nick Stamp SetOctober 22nd, 2010 Posted on October 22nd, 2010, 7 responses.Welcome to this week’s Color combo #10!! (Did you notice that I skipped this feature last week? Sorry about that!) I was stamping the snowman from the Jolly Old St. Nick Stamp set onto my white cardstock and when I was done coloring him in, I thought it looked pretty naked. I glanced at my stash of stamps and noticed A Cute Christmas and thought the trees from that set would be a perfect background for the sweet little snowman. Woot! Both stamp sets I used today are from the Holiday Mini Catalog. Let me know if you need a copy! Click here to see it online.
Notice anything else about my card for today? If you have been following my blog, you know my first craft was sewing. My mother taught me at a very early age. Once I picked up a stamp, I have barely touched the sewing machine. Well, my 11 year old daughter has been getting lessons from my mom, and mom even bought her a Hello Kitty Sewing Machine!
The other night, Anna got the machine out and started making a sock elephant. Well, when it was time for bed, guess what happened the the sewing machine. You guessed it…nothing! It stayed right on my stamping table. I moved it to underneath the table…but that sucker was calling me! So today, I pushed the Toshiba out of the way and had some fun with Hello Kitty! My very first stitched card. You WILL be seeing more!

Welcome Christmas Stamp Set and Heat Embossing Video!October 21st, 2010 Posted on October 21st, 2010, 19 responses.
My club order came in last night and I shrieked with delight because my new Music Notes Wheel was in there! Gosh, when I got my Papercrafts Magazine this month, sheet music was EVERYWHERE! I guess it’s all the rage right now and we want to be trendy papercrafters, right? I have Deck the Halls Designer Paper and Newsprint Designer Paper, which both have patterns with sheet music…but you only get 2 sheets in each pack and you know what happens to that…it’s GONE! So, I thought the wheel would come in handy and I can have any color sheet music any time I want! WOOT! You are going to see this wheel A LOT! I used it here for my background and wheeled it in Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock (I just rolled the wheel on my ink pad). STAMPIN’ UP SUPPLIES:
I Heat Embossed the main image, it adds such a classy element to the card. View the video to see how quick and easy it is to heat emboss with Stampin’ Up’s Craft Ink Pads. My inspiration today came from 365 Cards (3 colors, DSP, embellies), CASE Study (bling and star), Cute Card Thursday (sketch), Charisma Cardz (vintage), and Delightful Sketches (Christmas).
