Stampin’ Up Butterfly Embosslet Die and St. Patrick’s Day CardMarch 6th, 2010 Posted on March 6th, 2010, 4 responses.Hello Stampers! Today’s card uses the Butterfly Embosslet Die and before I jump into the project, I wanted to give you some important Big Shot Die Information! When you are running your die through the Big Shot, DO NOT run the die through your big shot hinge first, it puts too much pressure on the hinge and it will deteriorate and break…as did mine (Stampin’ Up is sending me a new one). Be sure to turn it ninety degrees so that the hinge is not parallel to the opening you pass the die through. See photos.
Now for the card. How darling is THIS and who WOULDN’T you send this to? I’m LUCKY to have you as a friend, mother, father, husband, child, teacher, spin instructor, dance teacher, underwater basket weaving teacher, and the list goes on….this was a workshop project for my hostesses and guests last weekend. The Lucky is from one of those stamp sets that I will NEVER get rid of:
(these 2 sets, a few accessories, and you would get 3 SAB sets AND hostess benefits if your order was $150!!) Supplies: Cardstock: 101697 Glorious Green, 101768 Green Galore, 102795 Gable Green. Ink: 103040 Glorious Green, 102122 Green Galore 113439 Big Shot Machine, 118138 Stampin’ Up Beautiful Wings Embosslet Die, 117335 Stampin’ Up Textured Impressions Folder $7.95.
I thought the butterflies were appropriate because: From wiki.answers.com “There are many symbolic meanings associated with the butterfly. The Mandarin Chinese word for butterfly is “hu-tieh”. “Tieh” means “70 years”, therefore butterflies have become a symbol for a long life. In this culture butterflies have also become representative of young men in love. In the Japanese culture butterflies are thought to be representative of young maidens and marital bliss. Many Japanese families use the butterfly in the family crest design. “ Especially if you send this to your husband, fiancee, boyfriend….lucky and the symbol for marital bliss say it all! It’s a beloved Sale-A-Bration set and you can get yours for free with a $50 purchase! Visit yesterday’s post to see all the images from this set. I was inspired by the colors and use of shimmer paint in Cam’s card (yesterday’s post) and inspired by the layout of this card below by Amy Fitzgerald. It uses the Messages for Mom Stamp Set and Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper. Isn’t it cute? So I took these two cards, got all excited, locked myself in the stamp room and created today’s card. I hope you enjoy the video! and, don’t mind the dog…geez.

To texturize the card base I used:

Happy Stamping Everyone! Stampin’ Up’s Curly Label Die, Vintage Labels Stamp Set and Shades of Spring Designer Series PaperJanuary 18th, 2010 Posted on January 18th, 2010, 3 responses.Hey, Friends! Hope you had a terrific weekend! Today’s project is one that I made for a dear friend of mine. She broke her leg a year and a half ago and has had a lot of trouble with it, so just had surgery on it again last wee. She had to lie on the couch for 4 straight days, only getting up to go to the bathroom and it will take a couple months to heal. Some of my friends are bringing her meals. I’m lucky to get dinner on the table for my family, so that’s not really my cup of tea, right? Making cards and goodies is my thing, so I put together a pack of card for her in Black and White…her favorite colors. Since the Night and Day Specialty Paper isn’t available anymore, I made another one with the new Shade of Spring Designer Series Paper to show you! You can see the black and white below and view the video on how to make this great card!
Supplies:
Purchase the Big Shot, die and pads and get THREE Sale-A-Bration sets for FREE, a Level One hostess Stamp set and $15 in free merchandise, PLUS 3 squares on your Rewards Card.
Here is the one I made for her. It didn’t take long to make a pack of these….a great gift, right? Don’t have the Big Shot yet? Consider signing up to be a demonstrator…did you know the contents of the Stampin’ Up Starter Kit is 40% off? And right now, it’s 15% off and you get to pick out an additional set for free. Then, your first qualifying order is a 30% discount AND you get the hostess benefits? If you’re considering it, I would love to answer your questions. E-mail me, read more about it here. Happy Stamping Everyone! Stampin’ Up’s Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper and Stitched FeltJanuary 13th, 2010 Posted on January 13th, 2010, 3 responses.Hey, friends! Oh, how I’m lovin’ my Sweet Pea. The colors, the designs….This pack of Designer Series Paper has 48 sheets for $24.95. You get 2 sheets of every pattern, the sheets are double sided and there are 48 different patterns. Wowsas! I’m selling this pack like hot cakes and I’ve made a good dent in my own pack! Click on the Shop Now button at at the bottom of this post, or in the sidebar to get your own. If you’d like a sample (6×6 of every sheet), sign up for my Designer Series Paper Split. Another thing I like about this pack of paper is the variety of patterns. They all coordinate with each other and at the same time includes so many different types. feminine. masculin. elegant. whimisical. polka dots. strips. houndstooth. you name it. it’s in there. See how it all comes together in this video. There’s a couple techniques in here that will remain nameless because I don’t know what they’re called. Leave me a comment if you can enlighten me! Haha!
