Two For Tuesday, I {Heart} Hearts Stamp Set, Elegant Soiree and the Dotted Scallop Border PunchJuly 20th, 2010 Posted on July 20th, 2010, 3 responses.Welcome to this week’s Two for Tuesday! My inspiration this week came straight from the Stampin’ Up Idea Book and Catalog…page 106. It’s a simple layout, very similar to last week’s actually! But this one uses the strip across the card, then various embellishments sprinkled across it. Instead of hearts and buttons or butterflies, why not try out flowers, snowflakes, or leaves? Stampin’ Tip: I like to give my buttons a finished look, but I don’t always want to use linen thread. If you take a super duper skinny piece of cardstock, you can thread it through your button and secure it on the other side with Mini Glue Dots. Nifty! STAMPIN’ UP SUPPLIES:
This card I’ll be swapping this year at the Stampin’ Up Convention (did I tell you I leave tonight? Check back for updates and photos!). Be sure to view the video to see how it comes together, how to use the new Dotted Scallop Border Punch and a little different twist on the greeting. STAMPIN’ UP SUPPLIES:

Two for Tuesday: Tropical Party Stamp Set and Island Oasis Designer Series PaperJune 2nd, 2010 Posted on June 2nd, 2010, 3 responses.Oh. My. Word. I cannot even tell you how much I LOVE THIS CARD! What I love most is all the different textures on it. What I love second is the colors. I looove these fun and fabulously bright colors. They make me HAPPY! What I love third is the little tag cut from the Matchbox Die for the Big Shot. What I love fourth is how I got 2 different textures from the same embossing folder. I ran the Pumpkin Pie flower through the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and I ran a piece of the Island Oasis Designer Series Paper with the Old Olive palm fronds pattern through it as well. I adhered them to the card showing opposite sides to give the different textured looks. loooove IT! That, coupled with the corduroy button and the satin ribbon, it’s a texture dream come true! For the second card, I used the exact same layout, just tweaked it up a bit! I stamped the coconut from the Tropical Party Stamp Set on Close to Cocoa Cardstock, then cut it out and used the Faux Suede Technique (Video Here) to make it look fuzzy…like a coconut! Then, I stamped the grass and the coconut on my Whisper White Cardstock, colored it in with my Stampin’ Write Markers and adhered my Faux Suede coconut to it. I hope you like today’s cards for Two for Tuesday…why don’t you try this template for yourself? Have a wonderful Wednesday! Supplies:

Stampers’ Q&A: Two Tone Background via Square Lattice Embossing FolderMay 28th, 2010 Posted on May 28th, 2010, 2 responses.Hi Stampers! For today’s Stampers’ Q&A, I have a fun technique for you. When I posted these cards, Ashley wanted to know: “May I ask how you got the two tone on the background using the lattice folder? It is very pretty. Thanks for the ideas, they are great.” It’s really rather simple and packs a punch, you all know I flip for that! All you need is a brayer, an ink pad and the Square Lattice Impressions Embossing Folder. Ink up your brayer. Roll your brayer across your embossing folder. I’m using Stampin’ Up’s Certainly Celery Ink. Run your Stampin’ Up Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder through the Big Shot Machine. Oh, yeah, baby! How cool is this?

Two For Tuesday: Elements of Style Stamp Set and Pocket Silhouettes Stamp SetMay 25th, 2010 Posted on May 25th, 2010, one response.Hey, stamper friends! Thanks to all of you that e-mailed or commented here about my new features. Seems like you like them! So here goes my second Two For Tuesday! These card layouts are exactly the same, I just used different colors, stamps and embellishments. It’s a simple layout with a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4″ cardstock base and a 5 1/4 x 4″ layer on top of that. The next layer is 3 1/2 x 4 1/4″ and that’s the piece I stamped on. Thanks So Much card supplies:

Stampin’ Up Smooch Spritz with the Tulipe Big Shot Die StencilMay 11th, 2010 Posted on May 11th, 2010, 2 responses. You might know that I am a big fan of the Vintage Style, but I don’t feel “good” at it. Quick and simple with a punch is usually my style…but I’m trying to branch out a bit for fun. I was perusing Shelli Gardner’s website (CEO and Co-founder of Stampin’ Up) and saw a card that inspired me, so I CASED it! I changed the colors and embellishments and used a different stencil and this is what I came up with. I hope you like it! It’s a great way to showcase the brand new Smooch Spritz (try saying that 5 times fast!) by Stampin’ Up, which comes in 4 colors: Gold Glow, Silver Foil, Vanilla Shimmer and Log Cabin. First, sponge Creamy Caramel and Ruby Red ink (both retiring June 30) on your Very Vanilla Cardstock. Then, lay your stencil (this one was made by die cutting a peice of Window Sheet with the Tulipe Die for the Big Shot). Give it a couple quick pumps of Smooch Spritz, remove your stencil and Oooh and Aaaah at your creation! I used the distressing tool from the Cutter Kit to distress the edges of the cardstock. The layered peices in the middle are labels cut from the Big Shot Matchbox Die, and it was stamped using the flourish-y stamp from the Friends 24-7 Stamp Set (ink in Creamy Caramel and stamp off once). Topped off with a P for Pooler from the Lovely Letters Stamp Set! Have you visited my Youtube Channel? I have almost 70 videos on there now to teach you all about Rubber Stamping! Blossom Party Big Shot Die Gift BagApril 27th, 2010 Posted on April 27th, 2010, one response. If you are a Facebook Fan (click here to visit), you would have seen the cards that Eva made last month for her friends’ birthdays. Between my 3 girls, we had about 15 birthday party invitations. Wowsas! That puts a pinch on the wallet, and really works out the Mom Taxi Service. Luckily, my girls love to craft and they make the cards and even decorate the gift bags. You know Stampin’ Up’s In Color Line has Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo, but did you know Target has those 2 colors in TISSUE PAPER!!?? That sure made it a snap to get Kraft Gift Bags and make a quick, coordinating bag for the gift. Eva and I cut out a bunch of flowers from the Blossom Party Big Shot Die and she went to town! This bag is her creation! And if you’re a new blog reader of mine….Eva is FIVE. She did a great job, didn’t she? Stayed tuned…next month you will see more of the Blossom Party Die, and club gals, you’ll be playing with it! Want to join one of my clubs? Details here for Local Club and Online Club. Stampin’ Up Fancy Favor Box DieApril 3rd, 2010 Posted on April 3rd, 2010, one response.Happy Easter Weekend everyone! Today I have another little Easter treat to share with you in case you have a last minute gift you need to put together. You can also make these for other types of candies for use all spring long and again for Mother’s Day! Here is my first project. I used the Fancy Favor Big Shot Die and cut out my box, then I put a 2 x 12″ strip in to cut again the wavy top and make the score lines. I adhered that to my box, then assembled, then punched the Curly Label Punch to make a window for the bunny. I thought this was cute, but it wasn’t really what I was going for. See how to assemble the Fancy Favor Box here. My next shot at creating a cutie little Easter Treat was to cut the Fancy Favor Box about 2″ short of the top as shown in the picture. This gave me a short box perfect for a basket with a handle. This was it! Alana claimed these for her teachers, I hope they liked them!
View the video to see how to make this sweet eyeleted handle! You know you want a Big Shot of your very own to make fabulous and easy projects like these. Hop over to my Online Store, and it will be delivered to your door. Remember, orders of $150 or more get HOSTESS BENEFITS (and you’d be half way to getting $20 in free merchandise from me). Yes, my friends…that means FREE STAMPIN’ GOODIES FOR YOU! Supplies:
Have a wonderful Easter and be sure to check back here Monday morning. I have a special announcement for you! Movers and Shapers Curly Label Die- PURSE!March 18th, 2010 Posted on March 18th, 2010, 2 responses.STAMPERS!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m dyin’ over here…just dyin’. My super crafty mom is visiting and today was our big crafting day. I had the idea of….hold onto your hat…using the Movers and Shapers Curly Label Big Shot die to make a little purse for my cell phone. My mom was a bit of a doubting Thomas. She hasn’t sunk her teeth into the Stampin’ Up world (I know, big gasp) and wasn’t sure how this would turn out. I kept telling her to trust me. I just needed a little pouch for my new super cool phone because it doesn’t have any protection on the outside. It was a snap to cut out the fabric with the Big Shot Die. So, after cutting out the fabric and batting with the die, we sewed that puppy up! (when I was rushing upstairs full of excitement, yelling, “Let’s sew this puppy up!!!” Alana was a bit concerned for Kenly’s safety…”what puppy are we sewing up, mom???!!!”) Look how perfect my phone fits into this cutie little pouch. Yeah, you can bet I’ll be making more…different patterns, seasonal ones, you name it. Now I’ll be able to throw my cell phone in the bottom of the pool bag or my big ole mommy purse and I don’t run the risk of phoning my demonstrator friends in Australia! I also plan to use the other Movers and Shapers dies….stars, hearts, etc. Can you believe how perfectly it fits? And the window, how flippin’ cute is THAT!!??? I used Stampin’ Up window sheets and beads. I’m guessing you all might want to see a video….hmmm??? I’m off to my downline event and I can’t wait to show those girls this project and the other project we designed for them using CHIPBOARD, DESIGNER PAPER AND FELT FLOWERS!!! Check back tomorrow to see a few of the projects and Find me on Facebook to see them all! Stampin’ Up Butterfly Embosslet Die and St. Patrick’s Day CardMarch 6th, 2010 Posted on March 6th, 2010, 4 responses.Hello Stampers! Today’s card uses the Butterfly Embosslet Die and before I jump into the project, I wanted to give you some important Big Shot Die Information! When you are running your die through the Big Shot, DO NOT run the die through your big shot hinge first, it puts too much pressure on the hinge and it will deteriorate and break…as did mine (Stampin’ Up is sending me a new one). Be sure to turn it ninety degrees so that the hinge is not parallel to the opening you pass the die through. See photos.
Now for the card. How darling is THIS and who WOULDN’T you send this to? I’m LUCKY to have you as a friend, mother, father, husband, child, teacher, spin instructor, dance teacher, underwater basket weaving teacher, and the list goes on….this was a workshop project for my hostesses and guests last weekend. The Lucky is from one of those stamp sets that I will NEVER get rid of:
(these 2 sets, a few accessories, and you would get 3 SAB sets AND hostess benefits if your order was $150!!) Supplies: Cardstock: 101697 Glorious Green, 101768 Green Galore, 102795 Gable Green. Ink: 103040 Glorious Green, 102122 Green Galore 113439 Big Shot Machine, 118138 Stampin’ Up Beautiful Wings Embosslet Die, 117335 Stampin’ Up Textured Impressions Folder $7.95.
I thought the butterflies were appropriate because: From wiki.answers.com “There are many symbolic meanings associated with the butterfly. The Mandarin Chinese word for butterfly is “hu-tieh”. “Tieh” means “70 years”, therefore butterflies have become a symbol for a long life. In this culture butterflies have also become representative of young men in love. In the Japanese culture butterflies are thought to be representative of young maidens and marital bliss. Many Japanese families use the butterfly in the family crest design. “ Especially if you send this to your husband, fiancee, boyfriend….lucky and the symbol for marital bliss say it all! It’s a beloved Sale-A-Bration set and you can get yours for free with a $50 purchase! Visit yesterday’s post to see all the images from this set. I was inspired by the colors and use of shimmer paint in Cam’s card (yesterday’s post) and inspired by the layout of this card below by Amy Fitzgerald. It uses the Messages for Mom Stamp Set and Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper. Isn’t it cute? So I took these two cards, got all excited, locked myself in the stamp room and created today’s card. I hope you enjoy the video! and, don’t mind the dog…geez.
