How to Get a Good Crisp Stamped Image When Using Bold Rubber Stamps! Sweet Shop #2

April 11th, 2012 Posted on April 11th, 2012, 12 responses.

Boy that title is a mouthful!  But that is exactly what this video is going to show you.  Sometimes it’s a bit tough to get a nice bold, crisp, clear stamped image when you have a large bold stamp.  Especially when using markers.

View the video to see how to find success!  (if viewing this in a feed, click the title to be directed to my blog)

Before I go, I have a tiny piece of news to share with you…I’ve been watching it closely and today the last order I needed came through (thanks, Shea!) and I earned the Stampin’ Up trip to FIJI!  Can you believe it…Fiji?  Are you kidding me?

I highly doubt Fiji is a place that Randall and I would ever travel to (not that we wouldn’t WANT to!), so we are so greatful for the customers and downline that participate with me in my business so that we now have this amazing opportunity.  I truly appreciate all of YOU that choose ME as your demonstrator.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Hope you have a marvy day (thanks again to Shea for the fun term, "marvy"!).

Here is what Shea has to say about being a member:

"I am delighted to have found you and your site.  Of all the tutorials I have watched, yours are the best, and I can honestly say I’ve learned more from them than all the rest put together.  You give an excellent presentation and our tastes in cards are very similar.  I will definitely be a regular visitor to the SN family.  There was something about your site that tugged at me, and I am so glad I joined.  These are the nicest ladies, and I felt that they and you are more down to earth than the usual sites I’ve visited.  I find myself relating to you and the others very easily – y’all are a great bunch of gals!

Thank you so much, Shea!  We are thrilled to have you as a part of our community.

Have a wonderful weekend and Easter Holiday!

Heat Embossing with Fabulous Florets Stamp Set

April 4th, 2012 Posted on April 4th, 2012, one response.

A customer called me last night with an embossing question.  She said she has a really detailed, intricate stamp and when she inks it and stamps, it’s perfect!  But when she embosses it, it becomes hard to tell what the image is and it doesn’t look good and she wasn’t sure why.

My guess was that it had to do with her embossing powder.

Stampin’ Up used to sell 2 different types of embossing powder.  Regular EP (the "grains" of this EP were large) and Detail EP (this was a very fine powder).  Stampin’ Up doesn’t sell 2 kinds now, it’s all the same.  I was guessing that it is the detail, but wasn’t sure, so I set out to experiment.

View the video to see what I  found!

I think the conclusion here is that Stampin’ Up Embossing Powder ROCKS!  The greeting stamp that I used here is small and the potential for it to get all gunked up and blurred when embossing is high.  But with SU EP, the image remained crisp and fabulous!

Stampin’ Up’s Oval Punch for Banner Making?

March 29th, 2012 Posted on March 29th, 2012, one response.

I love this card made by my dear friend, Maureen, so much that I asked her if I could share it with you and she said yes!  Thank you Maureen, this is a fabulous card with a fabulous way of using those teensy little stamps from the Elementary Elegance Stamp Set.  love it!

This is what Mo has to say about her card:

I’m loving the banner trend, what about you? I’ve seen them in all shapes & sizes and love them any way they come.

Cute, right?!

I wanted to try something new with my banner. I decided to use the oval punch, then cut it in half. I stamped each piece with the adorable little images from Elementary Elegance, then popped them on dimensionals. I ran a thin line of liquid glue along the top of the banner and then laid my bakers twine over it. I trimmed the edges and added a bow to each end. Sticking with the oval theme, I stamped my sentiment and punched it with an oval punch, then layered it over the Modern Label Punch. To add just a little more interest, I finished the card off with faux stitching on the card base.

What other fun punches have you used to make a banner?

Stamps: Elementary Elegance. Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Pool Party, Luck Limeade, Indigo Island, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder
Paper: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Indigo Island
Accessories: Oval Punch, Modern Label Punch, Bakers Twine, Basic Rhinestones, White gel pen

You can stop by her blog and leave some love at:

Party This Way Stamp Set Birthday Card Making

March 28th, 2012 Posted on March 28th, 2012, 3 responses.

Rainbows are popping up everywhere in the paper crafting world.  What a lovely way to brighten someone’s day!

This card was a snap to stamp up, the key is to cleaning your stamps well between each color.  If you have the Stampin’ Scrub and Stampin’ Mist (cleaner and conditioner for your stamps), you are all set!  This will be a breeze.  If you don’t have it yet, I really recommend you get one.  Most stampers don’t purchase one on their first or second order, but they quickly see a need for one.  Once they purchase one, they tell me how happy they are and wished they had gotten one sooner!

View the video to see how quick and easy this card was to make!

The Party This Way Stamp Set is one of the FREE Sale-a-bration items that you can get with your $50 purchase.  Hurry!  Only 3 days left for this promotion!

A few friends have asked me how Alana is doing.  She has a ruptured ear drum, infection in the other ear, hearing loss, swollen and irritated throat and nose…but doesn’t act sick!   She was prescribed an antibiotic and should be all healed up in no time!  Thank you for thinking of her.
