Downline EventMarch 19th, 2010 Posted on March 19th, 2010, no responses.I had such a great time with my downline last night, and many of them came up to me at the end to say what a great time they had, too. Since my mom was visiting, I brought her with me last night. I was so excited to have her there. She loved the ladies and said she could tell how much we all love Stampin’ Up! If you are in my downline, please join us on April 19 and/or May 22 for our next 2 events. It’s WAY fun! And if you’re not in my downline, maybe you should be! ;) Read about it here. Here are the make and takes I brought. The first one is a cross between 2 of my recent posts, scroll down to check them out.
And here is the second make and take I brought using the Blossom Party Big Shot die and the Two Tags Die for the Big Shot. How cute is this!? and here is Me and Mom…no, she’s not my sister. You don’t even have to say it. Gotta run, but check back…I’ll be posting the swap card winners and next week I’ll be posting my March Scrappers’ Express Kit…I’m a bit late on it, but it’s coming! Be sure to find me on Facebook, I will be posting ALL the displays from Taste of Stamping. I have almost 70 photos of cards, scrapbook pages and 3D items for your enjoyment! Movers and Shapers Curly Label Die- PURSE!March 18th, 2010 Posted on March 18th, 2010, one response.STAMPERS!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m dyin’ over here…just dyin’. My super crafty mom is visiting and today was our big crafting day. I had the idea of….hold onto your hat…using the Movers and Shapers Curly Label Big Shot die to make a little purse for my cell phone. My mom was a bit of a doubting Thomas. She hasn’t sunk her teeth into the Stampin’ Up world (I know, big gasp) and wasn’t sure how this would turn out. I kept telling her to trust me. I just needed a little pouch for my new super cool phone because it doesn’t have any protection on the outside. It was a snap to cut out the fabric with the Big Shot Die. So, after cutting out the fabric and batting with the die, we sewed that puppy up! (when I was rushing upstairs full of excitement, yelling, “Let’s sew this puppy up!!!” Alana was a bit concerned for Kenly’s safety…”what puppy are we sewing up, mom???!!!”) Look how perfect my phone fits into this cutie little pouch. Yeah, you can bet I’ll be making more…different patterns, seasonal ones, you name it. Now I’ll be able to throw my cell phone in the bottom of the pool bag or my big ole mommy purse and I don’t run the risk of phoning my demonstrator friends in Australia! I also plan to use the other Movers and Shapers dies….stars, hearts, etc. Can you believe how perfectly it fits? And the window, how flippin’ cute is THAT!!??? I used Stampin’ Up window sheets and beads. I’m guessing you all might want to see a video….hmmm??? I’m off to my downline event and I can’t wait to show those girls this project and the other project we designed for them using CHIPBOARD, DESIGNER PAPER AND FELT FLOWERS!!! Check back tomorrow to see a few of the projects and Find me on Facebook to see them all! Sparkly Rock and Roll Peacock from the Very Thankful Stamp SetMarch 17th, 2010 Posted on March 17th, 2010, one response.Hello Stampers! I love how this card came out. I will be bringing this for a make and take to my downline event tomorrow, Taste of Stamping (although we’ll be doing it in blue with the markers and shimmer paint from this post). Have you thought about becoming a demonstrator? If you are in the Raleigh-Durham area, join me Thursday night to stamp and have fun with my local group, or join me for Stamps and Chocolate on March 29th to learn more. You can also read all the need-to-know info about becoming a demo here. The special on the starter kit ENDS on March 31. l started by inking the oh, so beautiful peacock in Sahara Sand Ink. Then, I rolled it in So Saffron, then in Melon Mambo. Next, I used the circle scissors plus to cut out my circles. View the video to see how this card came together (I also couldn’t resist spraying Shimmer Paint all over the card when I was done…not shown in the video. Add a couple drops of Shimmer Paint to a small spray bottle full of rubbing alchol to make your own Glimmer Mist!). Supplies:
If you have followed my blog, you know I have a very crafty mom…she just arrived last night from NY and we are pondering the crafts we’ll be making over the next couple days. Check back because I’ll be blogging about what we make! I’m giving away a stamp set, ink and ribbon for your comments, details here. Sahara Sand, Kraft and Not Quite Navy. Not my typical colors…I gravitate towards red, any of the pinks and chocolate chip. But I looove this! This was a make and take at Lauren and Linda’s workshops last week and they loooved it, too! It’s so classy. I started with the Peacock stamp from Stampin’ Up’s Very Thankful Stamp Set, inked it in Sahara Sand ink, then used my markers to add Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, Not Quite Navy to the stamp. Next, I used my sponge dauber to add Champagne Shimmer Paint to the stamp. What a shimmery, gorgeous peacock! View the video to see how:

Vintage Vogue Stamp Set in Elegant EggplantMarch 11th, 2010 Posted on March 11th, 2010, one response. My friend, and downline Teresa Buchholz, shared these gorgeous samples with us at my downline meeting, Taste of Stamping. Gorgeous, I know! The Vintage Vogue Stamp Set and Very Vintage Wheel are very popular items from Stampin’ Up’s Spring Mini Catalog! Download the catalog by clicking on the image of the orange catalog in the sidebar. Thanks for sharing, Teresa! If you would like to join us at my next Taste of Stamping, mark your calendar for March 18 and be sure to register on the events page. Members and potential members of my downline are invited to attend! Here is a close up of the brad action going on here (no, not Brad Pitt!). I love how she hammered the silver brad to make it all shabby and stuff. Cool! And Elegant Eggplant…that must be my most favorite under-used color! Just beautiful. More Vintage Vogue samples here and here and here. Oh, yeah…and here too. Be sure to sign up to receive my monthly newsletter (changes coming soon- don’t miss out!), and enter your e-mail address so you get e-mail updates when I post. Both are on the top in the sidebar. Hope you’re having a great week. My big girls are tracked out of school, so it’s been a bit nutty having fun with them, keeping them entertained while trying to maintain some type of “normalcy” around here so I can continue to work and keep up the house, and cook, and the list goes on. Ahh, the challenges (and pleasures!) of motherhood! Thanks for stopping by. Tart and Tangy Stamp Set with Scratch and Sniff Heat EmbossingMarch 9th, 2010 Posted on March 9th, 2010, 2 responses.
Hello Stamper Friends! Read all the way to the end to find out who won the blog candy. Keep your comments coming, I love them and it makes all the work of posting worth it when I read them! Today I want to share with you some fun samples made with the Tart and Tangy Stamp Set! It is on page 126 of Stampin’ Up’s main catalog and is $14.95…but if you place a $50 order before March 31, you can choose it as your free Sale-a-bration Stamp Set! (catalogs are in the sidebar for you to peruse…contact me if you need me to put a copy in your hot little hands!;). I have used this set for lots of fun things and it’s one that will sit on my “I’ll bring it to the grave” shelf once it retires. I used it this month for Cards and Projects (did you know you get a free class with me each month when you commit to spending $15 per month with me?), and if you are a member of the Online Cards and Projects club, you will recieve all the supplies to make this card in the mail! If you haven’t signed up yet, you have until Weds. night to register and place your first order. This was a popular color combination..fun with the blue, olive and red, dontcha think? We mixed 1 tsp. of Cherry Jello (you could also use Kool Aid) with Clear Embossing Powder, poured it on after inking the cherries with craft ink and heated it. Once it cools, you’ll actually need to scratch it to get that cherry smell going again. Supplies:
Embossing Supplies:
**Stampin’ Spots are a GREAT way to try out a bunch of colors for less than the price of 4 full sized ink pads. They are also useful for inking small parts of a stamp and can be used for watercoloring as well! Craft Stampin’ Spots (pigment based ink, takes a while to dry, you can emboss with it, stamp on fabric, walls, wood, etc): 105439 Bold Brights, 105438 Earth Elements, 105437 Rich Regals, 105370 Soft Subtles Classic Stampin’ Spots (dye ink, dries immediately, not fade-resistant, used for most papercrafting): 105550 Bold Brights, 105551 Earth Elements,105552 Rich Regals, 105553 Soft Subtles Did you know there are 22 samples in the gallery made with the Tart and Tangy Stamp Set? And if you upload your creations, you will be entered to win a hostess stamp set of your choice when the gallery hits 2500 sample. Set up an account, login and upload away! Email me with any questions. Here are a few: This sample was a invitation for our Teacher Appreciation Fondue Party a couple years ago…it’s perfect! I used Stampin’ Write markers to color directly on the stamp.
These 2 samples were made for some downline events by Kim Allen and Deena Boos.
