Hi Everyone!  Just a quick post today…gotta finish up the Christmas shopping, then off to a holiday party tonight!  yipppeeee!

My friend, Kim Allen, sent me this photo yesterday of her teacher gifts.  Isn’t it gorgeous!?  Lovely Letters and Baroque Motifs are my all time favorite stamp sets together and this takes it to a new level!  She used gold cord and the ornament punch along with circle punches to layer the letters.

FANTASTIC, Kim!  Thanks for sharing!

Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Diaper Fold Pouch Video Tutorial!- Holiday Treat!

Hello Stamper Friends!

I’ve been making this Diaper Fold Pouch for years now.  It’s always a great project for a small treat and takes minimal supplies.  Really, you just need a bag of candy, some patterned paper and a brad, or you can gussy it up a bit more and add embellishments.

You can also make it different sizes.  The only thing to keep in mind is your paper needs to be SQUARE.  This one is a 6×6.  The great thing about a 6×6 is that you can get FOUR out of one sheet of Designer Series Paper…and that means you can get 48 out of a whole PACK of DSP!  For $10 – $12 you can’t beat it!

I made a quick video to show you how quick and easy it is.  See for yourself!

Supplies:

  • 116795 Sleigh Bells Ribbon 10 yards for $7.95
  • 116471 Sweet Season Stamp Set $18.95
  • 115672 Merry Moments Designer Series Paper $9.95
  • 103133 Read Red Ink Pad $5.95
  • 109043 Scallop Circle Punch $15.95
  • 116631 Paper Piercing Tool $3.95
  • 105826 Mat Pack $9.95
  • 109111 Circle Ice Rhinestone Brads $10.95 for 84 brads
  • 103104 Small Flat Cello Bags $3.95 for 50…yes, you heard that right!

Fabric Flower Brooches with the Flower Folds Die- Holiday Gift!

December 9th, 2009 Posted on December 9th, 2009, no responses.

smorgasboard2

Hello Stamper Friends!  How darling is this little purse…read on to find out all the details!

I papercraft and my mother sews.  I used to sew…then I discovered papercrafts, and me “not-so-sew” much now!  When my mom came to visit over Thanksgiving, our worlds collided!  She brought 2 bins of fabric with her, so we whipped out the Big Shot and we went nuts!

My oldest daughter, Anna, just turned 10 and she decided to make a quilt.  My mom helped her cut the squares out with the 115950 Stampin’ Up Scallop Square Die for the Big Shot.  Mom helped her do the math and learn the basics of sewing on the machine.  Within minutes she was on her own…she is so proud!

021

While she was sewing, I was using the 115970 Stampin’ Up Flower Folds Die to make flower brooches and pins.  Here’s my mess (actually, I cleaned up for this photo, it was MUCH worse than this!):

023

Ideas for the brooches:

  • put pins on the back of the brooches to dress up a sweater or blouse, or add to a jacket
  • put a barrette on the back, they look so cute in little girl’s hair!
  • hot glue or pin to a head band
  • tie a ribbon around a candle and attach the brooch
  • tie the brooch to a present and you have 2 gifts in one!

Here is a video showing you how to make them:

Tips for making the flower brooches:

  • hot glue is a lot easier than sewing the layers together
  • use the 2 or 3 smallest flowers on the die
  • cut through 8 layers of fabric at a time, I also found I got a better cut on the top layer when I put a piece of paper on the top cutting pad to add more thickness
  • I liked to have at least 3 of the same size and color flowers to work into my brooch
  • tulle layers look awesome!

My mom made these DARLING white purses for the girls to pin their flower brooches to.  We made a bunch of different ones for all occasions.

Wine Bottle Topper…Holiday Gift!

December 8th, 2009 Posted on December 8th, 2009, no responses.

smorgasboard2

bottle1

A good bottle of wine always makes a good gift…but to make it great, why not add a little topper?  It took me just a couple of minutes to put these together.

I cut my Kraft cardstock to 2 3/4 x 12.  If you don’t have 12 x 12, you could always make them shorter and cut at 2 3/4 x 11.

I scored at 2 3/4 so the top that fits over the bottle is a square.  I used my 1 3/4″ Circle Punch to make the hole for the wine bottle to go through.

I used the Christmas Cocoa Designer Series Paper cut at 9 x 2 1/2 to embellish the front and because this paper is so gorgeous, I didn’t need much else!

bottle2

Supplies:

  • 116770 Christmas Cocoa Designer Series Paper
  • 109043 Scallop Circle Punch
  • 104401 1 3/4″ Circle Punch
  • 101227 1/16″ hole punch
  • 100908 Chocolate Chip Ink
  • 116471 Sweet Season Stamp Set
  • 107070 Kraft Cardstock
  • 115617 Chocolate Chip Striped Grosgrain
  • 115612 Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon
  • 104199 Linen Thread

And you might notice I used the Word Window punch…I made a booboo when I stamped the greeting.  No mistake, just an opportunity for creativity, right?

bottle3

Wonder how long these bottles will stay pretty…..;)

I just love these little triangle boxes.  You can put some treats inside, or a small gift.

With a few measurements, you’ll be able to crank out a bunch of them for teacher gifts, hostesses, neighbors and friends.

Cut your 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock at 4 x 11.  Score the long way at 5 1/2.  I made a “tick mark” on the 4″ side at 2″, then scored from the 2″ mark to the 4″ mark along the 4 sides.

To see what I mean, watch the video!

Table Setting Die for Thanksgiving!

November 28th, 2009 Posted on November 28th, 2009, no responses.

tablesetting

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!  I hosted dinner this year and my mom and stepfather came into town.  It was a great day of crafting, relaxing and yummy food and drink.

We used the Big Shot Table Setting Die to make napkin rings and place cards to decorate the table.  We used the Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper, Soft Suede Ribbon, Ruby Red Cardstock, Ruby Red Ink and the Autumn Days Stamp Set to make them.  They were quick and easy enough for everyone to pitch in!  My oldest daughter took it upon herself to create a seating chart, she was cracking me up!

0133       0123

You can see we had a big craft table set up…we were working hard making Flower Brooches using the Flower Folds Die from the Big Shot.  They came out terrific and I will be filming a video later this week on how to make them.  We had so much fun!

The girls left for New York this morning for a few days at my mom’s, so Randall and I have the weekend to ourselves.  The house is picked up, Christmas shopping was done and we have Randall’s 20th High School Reunion tonight.  I will go to pick them up on Tuesday and get back in town just in time for the Build-A-Bear Workshop and club!

Don’t forget about the HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZAA!   Select items 30 – 50% off…sale ends November 30

Details here.         Order here 24/7 by clicking Shop Now!
