My Friend Stamp Set and Designer Frames Masking
August 18th, 2011
Today’s card was inspired by this one by Chupa and the challenge over at CASE Study. Thanks for the inspiration, Chupa, your card is gorgeous!
I love this new Designer Frames Impressions Embossing Folder by Stampin’ Up! It was one of the first new Big Shot Dies on my wish list when the 2011- 2012 Idea Book and Catalog came out! If you purchase one for yourself, make sure you also have the Extra Large Oval Punch to go with it!
To make the focal point of this card:
- emboss the Designer Frame onto white cardstock
- punch the Extra Large Oval out of scrap paper
- use a temporary adhesive (I used Dotto) to secure it over the Designer Frame
- sponge color and stamp your image as shown in the video (if you are viewin this in a feed, CLICK HERE to view this post on my blog)
-
trim around the Designer Label, punch a Scallop Circle from the Perfect Pennants Big Shot Die, adhere the Designer Label to the Scallop Circle

I don’t have the special punch and the dies, etc., but there are still things I can use. Love the combo of colors you chose and blended so beautifully. Now, I must go check out Chupa’s blog.

Beautiful idea. Did you use scissors to cut out the embossed oval? I can’t seem to get that to look good.

A beautiful tribute to Iwona’s card Catherine! the highlights for me are the scored background and the gorgeous layered butterflies!
Thanks for sharing with us at CASE study this week!

Hi Doris! Yes, I did! If you take your nail and put it between the embossed part and the scissor blades, you can guide it along the outside.
And if you look really closely, you will see it’s a bit crooked, too! HTH!
