Hot off the Press… Stampin’ Up announces a Color Renovation!
April 8th, 2010Hot off the press…yes, my friend it is true. Stampin Up issued a press release announcing a color renovation. This is a full redo of the colors, and after I tuned in for the webinar with Shelli Gardner the other day, I can tell you this was not a decision Stampin’ Up! made lightly.
From the press release:
“The company extensively researched trends in fashion, design, paper crafting and home decor for almost two years in addition to holding focus groups with customers and demonstrators to decide on the palette of colors that would make up the color renovation.”
The new color lines will be available for purchase on July 1, 2010 when the new 2010 – 2011 catalog hits.
Stampin’ Up’s Retiring Colors: Almost Amethyst, Apricot Appeal, Ballet Blue, Barely Banana, Blush Blossom, Bordering Blue, Brilliant Blue, Brocade Blue, Cameo Coral, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Gable Green, Glorious Green, Going Gray, Green Galore, Handsome Hunter, Lavender Lace, Lovely Lilac, Mellow Moss, Only Orange, Orchid Opulence, Pale Plum, Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Really Rust, Ruby Red, Sage Shadow, Summer Sun, Taken with Teal, Yoyo Yellow.
Download the flyer to see all the colors in one spot. Remember, they will be available through June 30, then they’ll be gone forever! This includes ink, markers, cardstock, ribbons, brads, etc…basically everything from page 154 of the catalog through the end.
So what do you all think? What colors will you miss the most? Leave a comment here and I will draw on Saturday one name to win a special stamp and card from me.
My favorite retiring color? do I have to choose just one? I would say my favorite is Green Galore, but I use Brocade Blue the most. Can’t wait to hear what you think!
Oh, what was that? You want to know what will replace those colors? Well, there will be 5 new colors, and 10 returning In Colors from years past.
Do I hear a WOOT for Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi, River Rock, Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, and Baja Breeze??

I like the idea of updating the colors. I will miss Cameo Coral, but I am excited to see some of my favorite in colors being added, like Baja Breeze. Thanks for keeping us informed w/ the latest and the greatest.
I like the new signature, very elegant looking. Tell your hubby great job!

There’s actually two—Mellow Moss and Close to Cocoa!

I will miss Mellow Moss and Blush Blossom. I use the Moss a lot as my go-to green for baby cards and for some masculine projects. Blush Blossom is a must-have for doing punch art when you are trying to create people. White and Vanilla just don’t get it done.
I will miss the lovely jewel tones that I used for my Christmas cards, and I will miss the pale colors that represented quieter moods. However, it is a new era in SU color, and I know they will out-do themselves in offering oodles of ideas and accessories to go with the new color collection. And I know that demos and customers alike will move past the shock and embrace the excitement that good change can bring.

Wow. And to think I just got spots in Bold Brights and completed my sets in all four families! I will miss Ballet Blue (I used this a lot on baby boy cards) and my new love of Orchid Opulence which I just got and used in March. My favorite colors are purples, so I’m really sad to find out so many purples are going. Oh, you’ll be cruising with my demonstrator, Lori Staley, later this month!

I am going to miss several of them. Close to cocoa, sage shadow, barely banana. However I am soooo glad to see my favorite of all time is coming back. Pink pirouette. Love, love, love. Thanks. Debbie

Probably the brocade blue…there’s something about that tone that worked so well in different directions.
But I’m just bouncing that Wild Wasabi is coming back! And Riding Hood Red!
