Stampers’ Q&A: HELP! How do you use this thing?

Posted on August 30th, 2010, 2 responses.

sweet-centers stamp set

The colors from last week’s Color Combo inspired me to make a rainbow card!  Isn’t it super cute??  I used my Circle Scissors Plus to cut the rings.

I wanted a greeting that would wrap around the rings.  But of course, I don’t have one like that, so I broke out my black journaling marker and wrote it myself.  It’s not the most amazing handwriting, but it’s mine and I think my honey will like it.

What’s that?  You don’t know how to use the Circle Scissors Plus?  Yes, there is a bit of a learning curve to it.  View the video, make sure your cardstock is secure using temporary adhesive and go slowly!

You also might want to practice on scratch paper, old paper, computer paper, trash paper, whatever…just not good paper!  You probably will mess some up, but you will get the hang of it, I promise!

Then you’ll be super happy because you can cut circles from 1" - 6" in any increment!

Pooler Happenins’: KENLY, whoopsie!

Posted on August 29th, 2010, no responses.

005

Oh, poor, poor Kenly.  His parents are too cheap frugal to take him to the groomer.  Why spend $45 on a haircut when that money can be spent on more important things…like stamps!  Right?

More than a year ago, Randall and I went out and purchased a kit with a razor, blades, scissors and a video on how to give a dog a hair cut.  We’ve been grooming him ourselves all this time, usually I’m the one cutting and Randall is the one holding the dog down.

Randall took over the cutting job this time.  He was doing great, until he got to Kenly’s legs.  Kenly does NOT like his legs shaved.  At.  All.

He squirms, whimpers, struggles and gives us fits!

To add to this dog-shaving fiasco, in mid-trim, the shaver died!

So this is the result.

I’m reminded of the grinch.

Luckily he doesn’t have too many dog friends to make fun of him.

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!  Be sure to check back tomorrow for a video and Stampers’ Q&A!  I’m off to Marialena’s workshop, then I guess Petco.  ;)

Pendant Park Stamp Set meets Full of Life

Posted on August 28th, 2010, 6 responses.

pendant-park stamp set

Today’s card is a marriage of several different challenges from color to including lattice and a greeting as your main image.

I made the lattice background using the scoring blade on my Paper Cutter, just spacing the score lines 1/4" apart.  I inked the tree stamp from Pendant Park with Old Olive, stamped it off to get a lighter shade, then used the Rock and Roll technique to darken the edges.  I like how that turned out!  Learn how to do the Rock and Roll Technique here (you’ve gotta see this card, it’s one of my favorites!)

I couldn’t resist sponges the edges of the Scallop Oval Frame and then I had a smudge on the vanilla scallop oval, so I HAD to sponge that! ;)  Learn all about sponging here.

STAMPIN’ UP SUPPLIES:

  • 115456 (Wood Mount) 120012 (Clear Mount) Pendant Park Stamp Set, 111500 Full of Life Stamp Set
  • STAMPIN’ UP CARDSTOCK:100702 Old Olive, 105118 So Saffron, 119685 Cherry Cobbler, 101650 Very Vanilla
  • STAMPIN’ UP INK PADS: 102277 Old Olive, 119670 Early Espresso
  • ACCESSORIES:  114521 Big Shot Oval Scallop Frame Die, 119858 Boho Blossoms Punch, 104430 Dimensionals, 101610 Stampin’ Sponges, 119738 Subtles Brads, 104152 Paper Cutter, 101154 Cutting and Scoring Blade Refills, 116631 Paper Piercer, 105826 Mat Pack

Here is a second card using the exact supplies, with the addition of 119753 Early Espresso Satin Ribbon.

I was able to incorporate my favorite stamp from this set…the bench with the squirrels on it…how stinkin’ CUTE are they!??

Catherine’s Color Combo #4 with Look Who’s Turning Stamp Set

Posted on August 26th, 2010, one response.

color-combo-41

What a fun, bright and cheerful color combination this is!  WOW!   For some reason, the photo is looking a bit dark to me…not sure why.  It’s so bright and cheerful in person!

It worked perfectly with the Sunny Garden Designer Series Paper. and the Look Who’s Turning Stamp Set.  I even thought about putting a 4 - 0 on there and giving it to a girlfriend of mine.  Even though it’s Kid-like, I think it would be fun for a grown up to get, too.

Pay For Christmas Doing Something FUN!

Posted on August 24th, 2010, one response.

Did you know you could pay for Christmas by becoming a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator? Yes, Christmas is just 4 months and 1 day away!

If you do 3 or 4 workshops each month, and are careful with your spending on new Stampin’ Up goodies, you will have plenty of money to provide your family with the best Christmas ever!

And those 3 or 4 workshops will help you build the foundation of a business that could lead you in places you’ve never dreamed.  I’m proof of this.

I love teaching papercrafting and feel so lucky to be able to call this my job!  I get to stay home with my kids, work on MY time,  go on fabulous vacations with my hubby for free (and some by myself), and meet bunches of other ladies that have the same passion for papercrafting that I do.

I quickly began making money as a Stampin’ Up demonstrator and I pay the mortgage each month, along with several other bills.  I have been awarded as a top demonstrator in the company for helping others do the same thing.

So if you would like more details on the first step…paying for Christmas, please contact me.

Happy Stamping!
