Crayon Resist
Posted on June 28th, 2009I just love this fun technique!
1) Stamp your image in Basic Black Classic ink or StazOn ink on Glossy White card stock.
2) Color areas you want to remain white–or that you want different from your background color–using a Whisper White or other light-colored Watercolor Wonder Crayon.
3) Use a brayer or sponge daubers to cover the entire surface of the card stock with ink.
4) Wipe off excess ink with a tissue.
Tips:
Give the ink time to dry before coloring your image with your crayon; otherwise the lines of your image may smudge.
After Step 4, you can color over the masked area with Stampin’ Write markers or using watercolor tools.

It usesTempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Summer Sun, Green Galore, Only Orange, and Pixie Pink.
One thing that I think makes these pages great is the simple layout, punches of color and those stinkin’ cute fish from Just Beachy!
I made the parentheses (how the heck do you spell that!?) from the Top Note die and Go Go Boots made the letters and numbers! (exclusive SU dies for the Big Shot).

Instead of working…
Posted on June 13th, 2009I’ve been playing! My kids are tracked out of school right now, to start back on July 7. So we’ve got 4 weeks of fun and sun and we have been taking advantage of it! Just in case you’ve been wondering where I am these days…I know I haven’t been posting much….
A day at Lake Gaston to celebrate my dad’s 60th bday:
We’ve been at the pool almost everyday, but geesh! No photos yet!
I’m so glad I have a job that allows me to be flexible for my family. Thank heavens for SU!
Accordian Fold Flower
Posted on June 12th, 2009Here’s another fun one to try:
1) Cut card stock or Designer Series paper to 12″ x 3/4″.
2) Score strip every 1/4″ the entire length of the card stock and accordion fold the score lines.
3) Adhere ends of card stock together (Sticky Strip works well). Let dry.
4) Holding the card stock with two hands, twist one edge of the strip into the center as shown to create a flower shape.
5) Adhere a punched circle to the flower center on one or both sides (Pop-Up Glue Dots work well) to hold shape in place.
Try experimenting with different sizes and score intervals to create the desired shape of your flower.

Baby Wipe Technique
Posted on May 30th, 2009Have you even tried the Baby Wipe Technique? I’m thinking this might be a great one to try out for Cards and Projects! There are a couple ways to do this one:
Squeeze a few drops of ink from your re-inker on a baby wipe; the moistened material absorbs the colors and creates a one-of-a-kind ink pad.
Stamp your image.
Another fun thing to try- gently swipe the wipe over your card stock to create a multicolored background.

Retiring Stamp Set List…coming soon…and contest!
Posted on May 28th, 2009On Monday, June 1, Stampin’ Up!’s list of retired stamp sets (now called Last Chance List) will be released.
In anticipation of the list of stamp sets we will say good-bye to, I will be holding a contest!! E-mail me a list of 10 stamps sets that you think will be retiring from the Spring/Summer Catalog by Fri., May 29 at midnight (EST).
The person who guesses the most stamp sets on the retiring list will win their choice from my retiring stamp sets! If there is a tie, the list I recieved first will win. EVERYONE who submits a completed entry will receive a $5 coupon to be used on your July order of $50 or more.
