Sparkly Rock and Roll Peacock from the Very Thankful Stamp Set

Posted on March 17th, 2010, one response.

very thankful stamp set

Hello Stampers!  I love how this card came out.  I will be bringing this for a make and take to my downline event tomorrow, Taste of Stamping (although we’ll be doing it in blue with the markers and shimmer paint from this post).

Have you thought about becoming a demonstrator?  If you are in the Raleigh-Durham area, join me Thursday night to stamp and have fun with my local group, or join me for Stamps and Chocolate on March 29th to learn more.  You can also read all the need-to-know info about becoming a demo here.  The special on the starter kit ENDS on March 31.

l started by inking the oh, so beautiful peacock in Sahara Sand Ink.  Then, I rolled it in So Saffron, then in Melon Mambo.  Next, I used the circle scissors plus to cut out my circles.

View the video to see how this card came together (I also couldn’t resist spraying Shimmer Paint all over the card when I was done…not shown in the video.  Add a couple drops of Shimmer Paint to a small spray bottle full of rubbing alchol to make your own Glimmer Mist!).

Supplies:

  • 115338 Very Thankful Stamp Set $14.95 (or, if you spend $50, use the code 120269 to get it for FREE before March 31)
  • 115687 Melon Mambo Prints Pattern $9.95 for 12 sheets
  • 115320 Melon Mambo Cardstock $5.50 (24 sheets)

very thankful stampin' up with shimmer paint

Hey, Stampers!  Welcome to my 50th video!  I’m so excited!  I started publishing videos back in Sept. and have loved doing them and have gotten great feedback from all of you.  So keep letting me know what you like and what else you would like to see….note, more 3D projects coming soon!

You can still enter for BLOG CANDY- drawing tonight.  I’m giving away a stamp set, ink and ribbon for your comments, details here.

Sahara Sand, Kraft and Not Quite Navy.  Not my typical colors…I gravitate towards red, any of the pinks and chocolate chip.  But I looove this!  This was a make and take at Lauren and Linda’s workshops last week and they loooved it, too!  It’s so classy.

I started with the Peacock stamp from Stampin’ Up’s Very Thankful Stamp Set, inked it in Sahara Sand ink, then used my markers to add Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, Not Quite Navy to the stamp.  Next, I used my sponge dauber to add Champagne Shimmer Paint to the stamp.  What a shimmery, gorgeous peacock!

Vintage Vogue Stamp Set in Elegant Eggplant

Posted on March 11th, 2010, one response.

vintagevogue

My friend, and downline Teresa Buchholz, shared these gorgeous samples with us at my downline meeting, Taste of Stamping.  Gorgeous, I know!  The Vintage Vogue Stamp Set and Very Vintage Wheel are very popular items from Stampin’ Up’s Spring Mini Catalog!  Download the catalog by clicking on the image of the orange catalog in the sidebar.

Thanks for sharing, Teresa!  If you would like to join us at my next Taste of Stamping, mark your calendar for March 18 and be sure to register on the events page.  Members and potential members of my downline are invited to attend!

Here is a close up of the brad action going on here (no, not Brad Pitt!).  I love how she hammered the silver brad to make it all shabby and stuff.  Cool!  And Elegant Eggplant…that must be my most favorite under-used color!  Just beautiful.

vintagevogue-stampin-up

More Vintage Vogue samples here and here and here.   Oh, yeah…and here too.

Be sure to sign up to receive my monthly newsletter (changes coming soon- don’t miss out!), and enter your e-mail address so you get e-mail updates when I post.  Both are on the top  in the sidebar.

Hope you’re having a great week.  My big girls are tracked out of school, so it’s been a bit nutty having fun with them, keeping them entertained while trying to maintain some type of “normalcy” around here so I can continue to work and keep up the house, and cook, and the list goes on.  Ahh, the challenges (and pleasures!) of motherhood!

Thanks for stopping by.

Hello Stamper Friends!  Read all the way to the end to find out who won the blog candy.  Keep your comments coming, I love them and it makes all the work of posting worth it when I read them!

Today I want to share with you some fun samples made with the Tart and Tangy Stamp Set!  It is on page 126 of Stampin’ Up’s main catalog and is $14.95…but if you place a $50 order before March 31, you can choose it as your free Sale-a-bration Stamp Set!  (catalogs are in the sidebar for you to peruse…contact me if you need me to put a copy in your hot little hands!;).

I have used this set for lots of fun things and it’s one that will sit on my “I’ll bring it to the grave” shelf once it retires.  I used it this month for Cards and Projects (did you know you get a free class with me each month when you commit to spending $15 per month with me?), and if you are a member of the Online Cards and Projects club, you will recieve all the supplies to make this card in the mail!  If you haven’t signed up yet, you have until Weds. night to register and place your first order.

This was a popular color combination..fun with the blue, olive and red, dontcha think?   We mixed 1 tsp. of Cherry Jello (you could also use Kool Aid) with Clear Embossing Powder, poured it on after inking the cherries with craft ink and heated it.  Once it cools, you’ll actually need to scratch it to get that cherry smell going again.

Supplies:

  • 111514 Tart & Tangy $12.95 (if you spend $50, use the code 120237 to get it for free!)
  • 102277 Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker $3.25
